QPR have this afternoon announced that Adel Taarabt will not be leaving the club this summer.

In an official statement posted “on behalf of majority shareholders Bernie Ecclestone and Flavio Briatore”, Rangers announced that Taarabt will not be sold, despite the club receiving bids for his services…

“We rebuffed all approaches and indeed, we are keen to build for the future in the Barclays Premier League, and not sell one of our prized assets… Taarabt is fully committed to the Club and is looking forward to proving his undoubted star quality for QPR in the Barclays Premier League.”

This will come as a major relief for all connected to the club but is also hugely significant news for Fantasy Managers.

Taarabt has long been earmarked as QPR’s key Fantasy asset going into the season. Our recent Scout Report article goes into depth on his potential this term – soak that up for the full details. In a nutshell however, Taarabt arrives in the top flight off the back of a season where he claimed 19 goals and 16 assists in his 43 starts. His importance the QPR’s survival chances is undoubted – his potential for Fantasy returns unquestionable.

Snuggled in the mid-price bracket (6.5 in the Fantasy Premier League) across the various games, this news will restore confidence amongst Fantasy Managers and surely see Taarabt arrive in many squads prior to Gameweek one. The fact that QPR are also blessed with a kind baptism back in the Premier League in terms of early opponents will only compound the Moroccan’s popularity.

Mark Mark created the beast. He's now looking to tame it.

one last try for a while..

    given, al-habsi
luiz(i know), Kompany, r. johnson (brown, simpson)
    albrighton, VDV, Gerrard, Tarrabt (Sinclair)
    RVP, Zamora, Holt

Gerrard is gonna be back, guns blazing! (if not, then malouda/lamps comes in wk3)

good balanced side, would hold off on geerrad until he has some match time and we have an idea where he is playing.

I would improve the defence slighlty

is de vries first choice for sure?
wilshire might get you up to 3 bonus points per match (because, well, he's BRILLIANT) but i doubt he'll give you any assists / goals. benayoun isn't close to a guaranteed starter. neither is park.
why would you want to double up on wolves' defence? they're not the strongest at the back, you know. and neither is sunderland. o shea might be ex-manu, but sunderland will concede a lot.

benayoun- pre season form. I think he can be pretty destructive given chelsea's opening run. wilshire- I'm counting fabs out of the team and nasri out on the left if not out of the team an I believe wilshire is gonna be the key. park- because of an early fixture with arsenal 😉 Don't look at my gk's 😛 I just put in the cheapest I got. This is my second revision of the team anyway.

benayoun, park, gervinho all to start is long shot then for them and wilshere to score well ff wise is an even longer odds. i would olny keep suarez and vdv if you like them and make sure you have 15 nailed on starters and then swap as the form and bargin players come clear.

        +1

Yaya Touré is often underrated, especially compared to the more expensive Silva. Yaya finished 9th on the EA Sports Player Performance Index last year, and so is a good bonus shout this season, whereas Silva finished 45th.

Ok just thought I would share this with you guys... (yes I'm fairly bored)

Did a little bit of research on Taarabt's and Sinclair's goal scoring patterns last year...

Last season Taarabt scored 21 goals(14H 7A), of which 6 were penalties... Sinclair scored 19 goals(13H 6A), of which 7 were penalties... very good returns from midfield...

Having seen Charlie Adam score 12 goals last year (mostly penalties) it is fair to assume that both of these guys can hit the 10 goal mark at least in the premier league...

It is interesting to note that they both scored around 70% of their goals at home (Taarabt 14, Sinclair 13)

So, for those of you who are thinking of taking advantage of their perfect home rotation, I reckon you can expect to garner around 14 goals from it... and with the 30% of goals coming away from home it is fairly inevitable that you will see some points left on the bench(which of course adds to argument they would make great first subs when playing away from home)

If you wait till nearer the season, and notice that Valencia is fit, then i wouldn't hesitate at all to get Nani out for him.

Maybe downgrade Hangeland to a 4/4.5m mid and then upgrade Tiote to Taarabt or Barton.

Picked a team looking to take advantage of the new points system. Not bad and an easy Rooney > Chelsea striker week 2 cover Chelsea

May not use it but lots to be head going this way.

Can you afford the extra 0.5 for Williams?

I reckon he'll be worth it...

Yaya Toure is 1.5m cheaper, and seems to be more suited for the new bp system, looking at where he came last season.

also looks like this system isn't just about goals then if yaya is 9th and hernandez is 92nd.

This is not MY team per say. Just trying a few combos based on the new points scoring system.

A top keeper may not be bad route this year given how high Hart Rated last year.

Pretty similar to my team although you have fitted Hart in which is interesting. there's definitely a few points in there

Nice to be back with FPL.
    First bit of advice needed:
Who will be Sunderland first choice keeper?
Thanks in advance for any feedback.

    A or B?
    A = Yaya Malouda O'Hara Tarrabt Barton
    Bent Suarez Zamora

B = Silva O Hara Tarrabt Albrighton Barton
    RVP Suarez Zamora

another option with B could be malouda and downgrade one mid?

no RVP looks wrong, will have to try and force him in for GW4 onwards if i go A. At least A covers both city and chelsea! Grr at the prices lol

    Given (Al-Habsi)

Riise A.Cole Kompany (Jose Enrique , De Laet)

    Walcott Taarabt Moses Hunt (Brunt)

    Rooney Drogba Ba

Im more than likely gonna change Hunt with a 6.5 midfielder , probably Sessagoen.

    Thoughts ?
