QPR have this afternoon announced that Adel Taarabt will not be leaving the club this summer.

In an official statement posted “on behalf of majority shareholders Bernie Ecclestone and Flavio Briatore”, Rangers announced that Taarabt will not be sold, despite the club receiving bids for his services…

“We rebuffed all approaches and indeed, we are keen to build for the future in the Barclays Premier League, and not sell one of our prized assets… Taarabt is fully committed to the Club and is looking forward to proving his undoubted star quality for QPR in the Barclays Premier League.”

This will come as a major relief for all connected to the club but is also hugely significant news for Fantasy Managers.

Taarabt has long been earmarked as QPR’s key Fantasy asset going into the season. Our recent Scout Report article goes into depth on his potential this term – soak that up for the full details. In a nutshell however, Taarabt arrives in the top flight off the back of a season where he claimed 19 goals and 16 assists in his 43 starts. His importance the QPR’s survival chances is undoubted – his potential for Fantasy returns unquestionable.

Snuggled in the mid-price bracket (6.5 in the Fantasy Premier League) across the various games, this news will restore confidence amongst Fantasy Managers and surely see Taarabt arrive in many squads prior to Gameweek one. The fact that QPR are also blessed with a kind baptism back in the Premier League in terms of early opponents will only compound the Moroccan’s popularity.

Mark Mark created the beast. He's now looking to tame it.

Van Persie or Rooney guys...........meh, I can't decide. Similar fixutes, both on penalties, Van Persie more consistent but Rooney with actual support from this team.

think rodellega is a slightly better option than zamora for the first few games. zamora ill not play 270 minutes of the first 3 games, plus is always injury prone. wigan play the 3 newcomers and rodellega is on penos

Demeble is tee'd up behind the F's strikers, but its not coming together for him yet. Worth noting that he's yet to join in Fulham's europa league scoring.

      Rooney for me.

More service than RVP is (likely, assuming transfers out at Arse) to get from midfield. Also, I think Ronney's play style - if not radically changed - will lead to more BPs.

Roon's having a good preseason so far, as well (not really indicative of anything, really, but not a bad sign).

    Also choose 1:
    a) Nzog, Bramble, Hughes

    c)Albrighton, Orr, Lescott

Cahill only if he moves as Bolton's start is woeful.

Kompany's got the game-time assurances to be no.1 city defender.

Kuyt's game time will decrease this year IMO, due to new liv wingers, and carroll and Suarez who are more certain starters.

Senderos could be a good pick if he partners hangeland, but, under Jol, and with increased fixtures for Fulham in Europa, i worry about Fulham's defensive returns.

Taarabt is no doubt a great player like Adam he is the hub of the team of a promoted team but the difference between Adel and Adam is Adel needs space he was found out when he was marked out of the game by a 37 year old (Robbie Savage) He will still be on the majority of corners and he alternates penalties between him and Helguson. (Who will probably be bench fodder now we have Bothroyd) Taarabt also gets subbed off early in games he was the most subbed player in the Championship last season. For all his good points Taarabt will frustate a fantasy manager.

Ok I think I have finally finalised a team I noticed not many people have been mentioning Terry on these forums which has me worried about picking him already have A Cole. And although I am morally bankrupt I still have .5 in the bank.
My main quandary now is Baines or Clichy? If I can get clichy I can upgrade McCarthy to nzog IF he stays at wigan..

yeah that's what I am thinking King Eric but was looking down the line at week four when spurs are playing man city. I will have clichy yaya and kompany maybe low scoring week then. But on the positive side the fixtures improve after that...
I am getting to the stage where I am doubting my team picks already I think there should be a lock put in place on the fantasy football teams for a week. To prevent tinkering and preserve sanity.

I would rather have Bendtner over Chamakh. Discuss...

      On current form, yes.

Dunno hat's happened to him. He's gone right off the boil.

      Potato/Potato

      Chamakh comes without the ego.

FWIW I rate both as top 8 strikers, but not top 2/3

Ego's are good sometimes. Bendtner at least looks to score and want the ball. Chamakh looks scared and lost, even in a friendly.

won't moses get more game time if n'zog leaves though? and 1 goal and 3 assists in 8 starts last season isn't too bad for a 5.0 lad...

Just signed up after finding this site towards the end of last season, noticed a few Fulham queries arise on the last page so if you need anything cleared up ask away!

Something for nothing, Briggs won't start in the Premier League. And I reckon Murphy or Duff are better bets to start the season with than Dempsey in terms of FPL picks.

Thanks for that, what about Senderos?

I'm assuming Hangeland/Hughes will be the first choice pairing?

Against Crusaders the other night we lined up with
Hughes, Senderos, Hangeland, Riise. This is something worth keeping an eye on in our next couple of qualifiers.

H & H have been an immense partnership for us but it's not inconceivable that Senderos could come in at Hughes's expense.

Dembele is main question can you see him getting regular starts?

Yes, I reckon we could well start the season with Duff, Murphy, Sidwell/Etuhu and Dembele. If he was listed as a midfielder he would be the first name in my team at the price he is, but I don't think he's got enough goals in him in his own right to choose over other strikeing options. I'd hope for a fair amount of assists though.

Lescotte and Kompany are the most nailed on imo. I think they offer excellent value compared to any other similarly price players in the game.

Before reading this site again this year I thought I would peice together a team just to see how my own insight goes, before delving into the wealth of knowledge here.

I had a look at some of the promoted teams to see if I could find any bargains, and kept 2.5 in the bank to snap up any hot performers at the start. We all know how unpredictable the start can be so wanted to leave room for manouvre. So here goes:

    Gk - Schwarzer

    Def - A.Cole, Rafael, Baines

Mid - N'Zogbia, Yaya Toure, Etherington, Albrighton

    Fwd - Odemwingies, RVP, Holt

Subs - Myhill, De Laet, Ollson, Faurlin

Rafael - not necessarily a starter, remember Fabio started over him in the CL final

Toure - I'm beginning to wonder if he'll have the same returns if Nasri joins (also hurts Silva)
Taarabt/Sinclair may be better options than Albrighton.

Odem has poor starting fixtures - look at Zamora/Rodagella in that price range

My thoughts exactly, I just looked up how much he played last year vs Fabio. With 500 minutes more under hs belt, I would say he was clearly favoured... buy that changes from season to season.
