QPR have this afternoon announced that Adel Taarabt will not be leaving the club this summer.

In an official statement posted “on behalf of majority shareholders Bernie Ecclestone and Flavio Briatore”, Rangers announced that Taarabt will not be sold, despite the club receiving bids for his services…

“We rebuffed all approaches and indeed, we are keen to build for the future in the Barclays Premier League, and not sell one of our prized assets… Taarabt is fully committed to the Club and is looking forward to proving his undoubted star quality for QPR in the Barclays Premier League.”

This will come as a major relief for all connected to the club but is also hugely significant news for Fantasy Managers.

Taarabt has long been earmarked as QPR’s key Fantasy asset going into the season. Our recent Scout Report article goes into depth on his potential this term – soak that up for the full details. In a nutshell however, Taarabt arrives in the top flight off the back of a season where he claimed 19 goals and 16 assists in his 43 starts. His importance the QPR’s survival chances is undoubted – his potential for Fantasy returns unquestionable.

Snuggled in the mid-price bracket (6.5 in the Fantasy Premier League) across the various games, this news will restore confidence amongst Fantasy Managers and surely see Taarabt arrive in many squads prior to Gameweek one. The fact that QPR are also blessed with a kind baptism back in the Premier League in terms of early opponents will only compound the Moroccan’s popularity.

Mark Mark created the beast. He's now looking to tame it.

Given and Kenny rotate well on home/away fixtures.

But is there any data (spreadsheets etc...) which shows how well any combination of goalkeepers (or teams) rotate based on fixture diffifulty?

    Givn (Ruddy)
    Kompany A.Cole Samba (Turner Simpson)
    Sessegnon Taarabt VdV Y.Toure (Dyer)
    RVP Suarez Rodallega

I know that my team maybe lacks a Chelsea or ManU attacking player, but no one is really appealing atm to me...

    Any thoughts?

Looks good overall. No one stands out as a poor selection. Obviously dyer is pretty weak but there is nothing good for 4.5 or 5.0 in the mids.

Its a bit different from most so could be good if things work out.

Samba could also stand for Jags or Cahill if one of them joins Arsenal. I prefer Turner to Bramble by a small margin in the 4.5 range. Another option could be Alcaraz - not sure yet

If your set on hart then just get the cheapest keeper in the game who starts and let him rot on your bench for the entire season. That would be ruddy at 4.0. I still think hart is overpriced though, he wont get many saves or bonus points and hes more expensive than all the man city defence who have a higher points potential. Kompany or clichy or lescott are all better picks than hart imo.

It depends on who you want to keep...

Personally I've got Given and will be for the season, and with any number of viable rotations in Al Habsi, Kenny & Ruddy you've got a solid set of keepers for 9-9.5m...

If you buy Hart+4.0m keeper, that's 2m less for outfield players...

Personally I think Given's save points will make him much better value, but it's your call...

    Sorry for yet another RMT.
This is just a quick first draft, wondering what yous think of it? Any obvious holes?
    Open to any suggestions.

N.B. Think Given & Hart rotate well and might sub VdV for Dempsey?

    Given, Hart

    Riise, Bardsley, Kompany, Samba, Simpson

McCarthy, Van der Vaart, Ephraim, Tchoyi, Malouda

    Suarez, Ba, Gervinho

As I said above there is plenty of choice...

Al Habsi, Kenny or Ruddy... I wouldn't spend any more than 4.5m...

You should also note that the Al Habsi/Kenny rotations are only good for the first 12 weeks or so... Ruddy rotates well all season (except GW 1 & 27)

Look at the excel doc at the top of the page to see for yourself...

Owen Coyle perhaps not the most adventurous in the Market though, still just heading back to Burnley after the raving success Robbie Blake has been.

Hi Camzy - good to see you so active again this year. Would you mind giving your thoughts on this team, please:

    Given/De Vries

    Kompany/Evra/Luiz/Simpson/Brown(Wes)

    Malouda/N'Zogbia/Sessegnon/Derry/Sinclair

    RVP/Suarez/Rodallega

Plan to swap Rodallega to Ba when Wigan's fixtures stiffen.

      Ruddy over De Vries.

Evra, Luiz, Derry and Sinclair need replacements. Go for Dyer of Swansea for a cheap midfield bench sitter.

The 5.0 midfielders are the worst price bracket in the entire game. I also feel you've got your team balance messed up. You have two options in defense really.

      Big Big Rotate Rotate Rotate

3 big defenders isn't a good strategy and limits funds up top.

But there are, and some players get assists AND goals. For 10 million you have to be one of these players imo... he has to score an amazing number of goals to justify the 10m

    Given Kenny
    Kompany Cole Hughes Simpson Orr
    Malouda Albrighton Taarabt Sessegnon Dyer
    RVP Bent Rodallega

    1.0 in bank

What do you think of this? I'm not too keen on Malouda but I don't know which midfielder I should pick around that price range and I still want some Chelsea attacking cover.

i think zamora is excellent value this season. If you look at his points per minute last season he was great... and pretty much first name on the teamsheet.

That is the question we all wish we knew the answer too. Picking the big names is easy, its the cheap overachievers that make all the difference!

Sinclair and Bothroyd are an awesome pairing fixtures wise.

The its just a choice between Albrighton and O'Hara for the final spot. Albrighton has the better early fixtures I think, and more likely to get in the goals than OHara
