QPR have this afternoon announced that Adel Taarabt will not be leaving the club this summer.

In an official statement posted “on behalf of majority shareholders Bernie Ecclestone and Flavio Briatore”, Rangers announced that Taarabt will not be sold, despite the club receiving bids for his services…

“We rebuffed all approaches and indeed, we are keen to build for the future in the Barclays Premier League, and not sell one of our prized assets… Taarabt is fully committed to the Club and is looking forward to proving his undoubted star quality for QPR in the Barclays Premier League.”

This will come as a major relief for all connected to the club but is also hugely significant news for Fantasy Managers.

Taarabt has long been earmarked as QPR’s key Fantasy asset going into the season. Our recent Scout Report article goes into depth on his potential this term – soak that up for the full details. In a nutshell however, Taarabt arrives in the top flight off the back of a season where he claimed 19 goals and 16 assists in his 43 starts. His importance the QPR’s survival chances is undoubted – his potential for Fantasy returns unquestionable.

Snuggled in the mid-price bracket (6.5 in the Fantasy Premier League) across the various games, this news will restore confidence amongst Fantasy Managers and surely see Taarabt arrive in many squads prior to Gameweek one. The fact that QPR are also blessed with a kind baptism back in the Premier League in terms of early opponents will only compound the Moroccan’s popularity.

  I'd avoid Rooney at the start due to their tough fixtures...he may score but cheeper options may score just as much.

  Kuyt not worth the price with others on penalties.

  Better options then Brunt based on initial fixtures.

  Midfield heavy. Downgrade a couple for good value mid priced options like Sinclair, Taarabt, Albrighton, Duff, Sessegnon.
  
  With that money upgrade either defence to get A Cole or someone similar for cheapie, or Zamora for Suarez/Hernandez/Bent.

i had A. for a day or two, im starting to like B. more

with pool and manu in GWs 2 and 3 starting to think rvp isnt a must have till gw4, also gives me a few weeks to make sure he doesnt get banged up.
lamps gives me the only chelsea rep i trust to start the season. villas fixtures are nice and bent should bag a few over the first 5-6 weeks.
yaya gives me a city attacker which is much needed for GW1. rafael is a risk/luxury, already have baines and company can rotate alcaraz around with simpson and another 4.0, probably someone from norwich or swansea.

sound logic/strategy? sets up a very nice gw1 squad barring injury or other unforseen events.

  Too much in defence imo... average strike force with suarez possibly missing early on. midfield is interesting and wilshere's game time obviusly subject to fab staying or leaving. I like nzogbia especially due to his fixtures (whether villa or wigan)... 12.0 is a lot for lampard but then again... pens and set pieces, plus he is chelsea's only absolute certain midfield starter under AVB.

  You chose Bent and Suarez rather than one of the two and Rooney/RVP. Risky, but I understand it: two strikers with unknown form and great fixtures rather than one of the two with a proven superstar that will undoubtedly have horrible fixtures.
  
  However, that's not worth having a Ferguson, and I'm still a believer in Everton's horrible starts, so I won't be going near Baines.

  Chuck out the Olivio Light and replace it with Anchor Butter. Poached egg3 looks like overkill to me...Never triple up, any kid with a spoon knows that. Good choice for captain, but I don't like Milk in your front line. Some may call me 'racist', but I would go for Black. Good start to the day, though.

  Odem is on pens and, for me, is less of an injury risk. I don't trust Ba to go the season without a spell on the sidelines but he does look good early on with stronger fixtures than Odem.
  
  In a nutshell then - Ba in the short-term but I feel Odem will outscore him over the season with assists and bonus in his favour.

    I would like a podcast, please. I've had to spend most of the summer so far listening to Richard Bacon and the Now Show. Both are good, but dey ain't football, if you know what I mean. If you don't know what I mean, then this should help: What I mean is that I like both of those other shows, but they're not about football, and what I really would like to listen to on my trip to work is a football podcast.
