Carlos Tevez takes a break. Cesc Fabregas is fit and may feature in Arsenal’s weekend friendly. Steve Kean finally signs a striker, though may see his skipper depart for North London. Alan Pardew is determined to freeze out Joey Barton and Joe Cole’s name blinks on the QPR radar. Here’s this morning’s Scribbles, folks:

The Cesc Fabregas to Barcelona saga drags on this morning. The midfielder has now recovered from his hamstring injury and for the past two days has trained with the Arsenal first-team ahead of Saturday evening’s friendly against Sporting Lisbon. The Gunners are reportedly preparing two first-team photographs ahead of next season- one with their skipper and one without. Fabregas is even willing to take a pay cut to ensure the move goes through but the stumbling block remains a £5m difference in each club’s valuation of the player.

Carlos Tevez is the other big name in the news this morning. City have reportedly extended their skipper’s vacation, allowing him to miss Sunday’s Community Shield clash with United. Tevez’s future remains in the balance, then, and, despite his obvious appeal in Fantasy terms, the City striker will have been crossed off many a pre-season watchlist. He now seems unlikely to begin the season in the City starting line-up when Swansea turn up at Eastlands next weekend

Chris Samba’s Blackburn future is again in doubt as the latest reports suggest Spurs have moved to the front of the queue for his services. A £6 million fee is reportedly on the table as Harry Redknapp looks to bolster his backline. Presumably the Spurs boss has Samba lined up to partner skipper Michael Dawson, with Ledley King’s knee still preventing him from making regular Premier League appearances. Should Samba arrive at White Hart Lane, it’s safe to say that Fantasy managers may look more favourably both on Samba and the Spurs back four.

Blackburn fans can at least take some consolation that their club made their first move in the transfer market yesterday, completing a deal for Dundee United striker David Goodwillie . He is set to make his debut at Kilmarnock this weekend – a full Scout Report on the Scottish starlet will follow later today.

Norwich’s Ritchie De Laet has wasted little in settling into his new surroundings, following his loan move from Man United. The defender grabbed a goal and picked up the Man of the Match award in the Canaries 1-1 draw with Real Zaragoza. At just 4.0 in Fantasy Premier League (FPL) he’s one to definitely consider, for those Fantasy managers undecided over low-price defenders.

While Joey Barton has hinted at seeing out the final year of his contract on Tyneside, Alan Pardew has other ideas. The Newcastle boss is reportedly determined to ensure the midfielder offers no further disruption to first-team matters by forcing him to train alone until his departure. Jose Enrique has closed his twitter account amid reports the club are on the verge of banning all players from using the social media site.

Liverpool’s forgotten man Joe Cole has been offered the chance of a season-long loan deal by QPR. Cole is clearly out of the picture at Anfield and, providing Neil Warnock’s side can afford his wages, would certainly get plenty chances at Loftus Road. With a 6.0 price tag, he’s a budget-friendly FPL option, though many Fantasy managers will steer clear until the situation becomes a little clearer.

Paul Is certain he won't make the same mistakes next season. Follow them on Twitter

Probably switch out Valencia + Ohara, still not sure on Balotteli.

Would it be worth swapping Balotteli for Zamora and upgrading elsewhere?

    De'Gea (Kenny)

    Luiz - Hughes - Kompany - Alcaraz - (Simpson)

    Valencia - Nzog - O'hara - (Moses) - (Ben Arfa)

    Carrol - Balotteli - Rooney

Sorry to bring up another RMT

I have been looking at the projections, early fixtures - basically doing everything bar creating a probability algorithm and I find myself with a spare mil. to spend - probably on defence with a view o minimise transfers.

    Back 7 of

    Al-Habsi/Given

    Hughes/Kompany/Enrique???/Simpson/Da Laet

Any advice would be much appreciated - very tempted to down grade a striker to get another big gun... BPs on my mind.

Thoughts on this team? here's the original one, but had to change it with doubts over Nzogbia. http://www.fantasyfootballscout.co.uk/2011/08/03/members-projections-updated/comment-page-21/#comment-1786452

    Kenny
    Cole Kompany Baines Enrique
    Moses Formica Silva Downing
    RVP Drogba
    subs (Given Graham Simpson Ferguson)
defence - rock solid, but if Enrique doesn't make move to Liverpool I'm downgrading him to Orr and use the money to upgrade my midfield.
Midfield - Moses and Formica are punts but both on form in Pre Season. Downing looked very sharp in the last Pre Season game I saw him in and I think his position is pretty solid on the left. Silva is quality and is showing that in pre season.
Forwards - RVP - in my team until he gets injured. Drogba is a punt but I fancy him for first two(see comments after RMT in link for my reason)
subs are weak but I can easily play 4 or even 5 at the back if I'm stuck.

I just don't see the appeal of expensive Bale or rotation risk Beny for a starting squad. You could be more conservative and still be able to bring in Beny for the soft fixture in GW 2&3.... Spose you could pun on Bale GW1 then bring in Beny???

It is a bit amazing that no one has mentioned PFA POTY Bale, if they sign a decent striker who can do something with his deliveries, he becomes more appealing.

He is appealing with good fixtures but VDV is the man at Spurs come rain or shine. Your point is very true though. Can you see Spurs landing a good target man this season though?

VDV is always buggered tho, if Bale stays fit and they sign Adebayor, Bale might be a bit of a gem.

    First RMT
    Would appreciate any input at all if you have a min;

    Robinson (DeVries)
Baines / Terry / Hughes / Kompany (Simpson)
VdV / Yaya / Moses (Henry, Ferguson)
    Rooney / Carroll / Zamora

No money in bank, concerned about Moses and weak subs, particularly after wk3. Thinking about downgrading a def or VdV and spending a bit upgrading moses/henry

Robinson - crap, Get given or begovic for that price. Terry - swap for A.Cole cos more assits for same money. Vdv maybe injured - keep an eye on that. Good front line.

    Defence A or B?

    A - Al Habsi Given
    Hughes Luiz Kompany Orr Simpson

Question mark on Luiz starting, can have 6m city defender and double up for GW1 changing to Luiz/Cole/Ivanovic depending on stoke line up?

    B - Cech Ruddy
    Enrique Hughes Kompany Orr Simpson
Assuming Enrique leaves for Lpool and gets a assured starting place. Allows for cash to upgrade 5th mid of leave in bank.

Team A or Team B look better? Two of my many possibles...

    A) Given Ruddy

    Baines Kompany Enrique/Hughes Bramble Orr

    Malouda Silva Taarabt Sinclair Moses

    RVP Rodallega Zamora

    B) Given Ruddy

    Kompany Enrique Hughes Simpson Orr

    Lampard Silva O’Hara Sinclair Moses

    RVP Suarez Zamora

    (assume Enrique at L'pool)

Starting to hear his name being bandied about (not quite willy nilly, as yet)... Probably a good prospect. I refuse to look at liverpool due to their $ antics of late... might have a look at enrique. LIV have a lot of settling to do.
