After reviewing the Goalkeepers and Defenders, the third instalment in our series of Members articles looking at Fantasy consistency sees midfielders come under the microscope.

Aiming to highlight those players who week-in, week-out offer solid returns, we’ve looked at the top ten midfielders for points per game in 2010/11 and analysed their scores in terms of reliability. While the likes of Rafael Van der Vaart impresses in his debut season, there’s plenty room for Florent Malouda -despite his overall haul of 186- to improve his consistency for Chelsea this upcoming season.

        he is only 24......give him a chance!
        in 173 games for reading, he scored 44 goals so rougly 1 every 4, which for a team like reading probably isnt that bad.
        i think he'll get double figures for wba this year.

    Hay, this is my team and i ask some advice from you. I wish you like it.

    Al-habsi (Moreira)
    Cahill, Simpson, Gabbidon (de Laet and Taylor)
    Nani, Fabregas, Bale, Taarabt (Ferguson)
    Aguero, Gervinho and Suarez.
    3-4-3

    The cheapest (except Cahill) playing deffenders, nice attacking line and mid. That's my simple tactics. I'm worried about Al-habsi and gervinho. Fabregas is captain.

      Fabregas wont be playing, he's had no pre-season at all, I'd go for Lamps or Silva instead till we know where Csecs head (and fitness) levels are at.

      No offense but that doesn't look like a good team at all.Your backs are very very weak.No solid player there at all.Maybe Cahill but thats it.Fabregas?Why?He won't be playing,most likely will be gone seeing thats what all his team mates are saying.Bale had a good first half of last season and then went dead.Over-rated.Aquero?He don't know he will be starting or how good he will be in the PL and the same goes for Gervinho(He will start but will he be good?).Suarez will most likely be missing the start of the season.Better to go with Carroll.And Fabregas as Captain.Man you must be one of those thick rioters lol (no offense intended just wanted to make a joke)

      Neither. I will avoid all Spursplayers for the first few rounds, but I would rather go for some Chelseaplayers since you already got Nani in your team.

    When building your team, who are you considering as undroppable?

    For me the only names consistent in all my iterations have been Kompany and Moses.

    But I'm wondering if people consider Silva/Nani/RvP/etc as 'must haves'

      I kind of agree about Moses, he is so cheap with great fixtures. I don't think Kompany is essential, everyone is banking on extra bonus points for him but I don't think he will benefit from the new bonus points system which seems to prioritise goals. Lescott is therefore a better option IMO.

      If RVP is fit then he is fantasy gold and probably ficture proof. In a nutshell NOBODY is essential at this stage of the season. Of course if any Chelsea players do well against Stoke then they will be essential for their forthcoming games though!

        Surely he has to start but yes I agree he could be another Boselli. However, at just £5m for an attack minded player he beats off all other possibilities for my 5th midfield slot given I will probably be playing 3 up front anyway. I think he is an ideal 1st sub.

            Sorry but Totalfpl is actually a good website. A lot of people on here use it and like it. The mods asked you 3 times maybe to change your name back to the first one and were reasonable at you still wouldnt do it. Thats why you got banned. Your own fault mate.

    afternoon guys, posted my front 8 yesterday and the response was largely positive, one suggesion was to swap silva for tarrabt and use the cash to strengthen my defense, im pretty happy with my choices but do the greater good of ffs have a view on this?

      Enrique is hard to judge seeing his future is in speculation.I like your fowards.Villa have some nice games coming up and Carrol could have a good season.Huth is a little over-priced and Stoke just both another CB so there is more competition for his postition.

      My 2 pence - Looks strong... my only thought is Kompany is solid but he'll rarely get you a goal. He's very much an out and out defender. Lescott aka Frankenstein is always good in a set piece goal. I'd make the .5 up by swapping in O'Hara as a good 6.0 maybe for Taarbt who i think will flop myself...i hope he does anyway 😉 as i didn't go with him...

          Cech won't get you that much points as he never saves anything tbh.He can get a clean sheet but there are better goalkeepers than him and cheaper at that but hes not to bad.Baines might not get off to a flyer as Everton have a very hard time starting seasons.Better to go with Cole for Chelsea as he will get the same points for clean sheets as Terry but also get assists.Huth is a lil over-priced for me and now Stoke just signed a new CB so there is added competition but once again hes not the worst.Midfield is good but United do have some very hard games to start the season up til GW5 so I would advise you to put in Malouda for now.He looks a certainty to start.Fowards are good if both can find there form.

        Ya I wasn't going to pick him but Wilshire got injured and then was looking at QPR's fixtures and they are not to bad.Plus he will be taking set pieces so thats a plus.O'Hara hmmm.Not sure on him mate.I know he takes some free kicks but its Wolves.I think you could be right about Lescott but I feel Kompany will get his Bonus for being Captain.Thanks for the reply

      its a good team but jarvis although is a pretty good player, i am not sure if he would rack up points coz you need somebody to finish the moves he initiates, right?? ya, once in a while he would score like the way he did last season against villa at villa park...
