After reviewing the Goalkeepers and Defenders, the third instalment in our series of Members articles looking at Fantasy consistency sees midfielders come under the microscope.

Aiming to highlight those players who week-in, week-out offer solid returns, we’ve looked at the top ten midfielders for points per game in 2010/11 and analysed their scores in terms of reliability. While the likes of Rafael Van der Vaart impresses in his debut season, there’s plenty room for Florent Malouda -despite his overall haul of 186- to improve his consistency for Chelsea this upcoming season.

Paul Is certain he won't make the same mistakes next season. Follow them on Twitter

Bench Sinclair. Liverpool's defense is much weaker than City's, especially as they've been recently struck by injuries.

    Al Habsi (Foster)
Kompany, Auerlio or Kelly, Alcaraz (Orr, Briggs)
    Silva, Downing, NZog, Taarabt, Moses
    RVP, Bent (Holt)
+2 Mill in the Bank to upgrade Downing to Malouda after GW1

What's the problem? Downing will supply many of the goal scored by Carroll and Suarez plus get a few for himself. You can then upgrade Dyer as well.

Padman? You must have missed Carroll in pre-season games. I think he scored in them all.

I wouldn't touch the Liverpool defence with yours, but Carroll is an RVP in the making given that he can score against anyone given the right service.

    Hello!

In Finland we have own little bit different Fantasy Football Manager. We have to choose only 11 players and season is shared to four parts. First part is GW1 to GW9. We can change players every day not between gameweeks but we have only 20 transfers in part. Now I have to find players which I keep all the time and good places to change player a to b.

I have found that N‘Zogbia and Taarabt are good to keep all the time because their fixtures are easy. Anybody else?

Our team budget and player prices in first part allow that we can actually choose any player to team. They should fix prices/budget because now we don't have to take any cheap players.

So good places to change player a to b?

    Thanks for helping.

I may be talking out my arse but i don't see matches getting called off on the weekend.
Been following the carnage for the last couple of days and it really seems to have slowed down in London to the point where even the sensationalist news channels can't find much to show.

Manchester's been looking rough as well as West Bromwich but nothing like on the scale of what was happening in London the last few days.

As well as that, all the Carling cup matches went ahead this evening (apart from the London matches postponed the day before)

It's not just about riots, it's about being able to Police the games. The guys that would have been Policing the games are now already doing long stressful hours and if it goes on any longer they will badly need a break.

Yeah that's true but there's a lot of money to be lost if matches get called off. London is currently swelling with reinforced police numbers so if the worst is over I can't see why any matches would be postponed. Pay them overtime if needs be, lots of money at stake.

I really wish that Swansea keeper target Michel Vorm would sign by Friday, want a 4m backup and really don't wanna be stuck with Ruddy.

No chance, a club like Swansea would'nt pay £1.6m illion for a sub keeper. Moreira was Benfica's 3rd choice. Vorm is Holland's 2nd or 3rd choice.

Eh I suppose that's just down to him being the only available keeper to buy and costing £4m. They haven't signed anyone else yet.

Not certain but I think Rangel(rb), Taylor(lb), Monk(cb & captain) and Caulker(cb) will probably be the regulars, though the last 2 have a chance of missing GW1.

I've been set on having Given on goal, but after doing a little research I found out that AV are actually pretty bad defensively, they've only kept like 1 CS all pre season...

wouldn't it be better to go with someone like swarchzer for 5.o???

Not only that, but as keepers go, Given is fairly injury prone. I've gone for Schwarzer.. better to have a keeper you can leave in and just forget about.

Injury prone? In the last couple of years he has been unlucky I would hardly call his career injury prone.

It is true though they have been keeping limited clean sheets but if you go through all the defensive line ups in pre season you will find more often then not that the strongest back 4 is not used.

so you reccommend him...swarchzer is also a very good option, i think fulham is probably stronger defensively but given will get more save points, both start off with a good schedule,

            tough call

If Fulham were playing under Hodgson still I would say get Schwarzer in but we don't really know how defensive Fulham will be. Villa have been defensive in the past and I think they can be this season under McLeish.

Also, look at the fixtures and count how many games you predict there's a good chance of a clean sheet - I'd say there are more in Villa's favour

I said injury prone *as keepers go* If you look at his FPL minutes played history you'll see he's never played ever minute of the season, unlike plenty of other keepers like Howard, Reina, Schwarzer, Friedel.

    Given ruddy

    Cole lescott dunne gabbidon Simpson

    Malouda downing sessegnon hoolahan Moses

    Bent Carroll Zamora

Still 0.5 in the bank to do Carroll to drogba if he's starting GW2.

    Thoughts?

What if Villa concede 1 or more in each of the first 3 games? Doubling up would be understandable if it were City because we know exactly what we'll get... but Chelsea?

                +1

If you want to double up on Villa, then at least get a 5mill def instead off Dunne and invest the 500K saving elsewhere.

I was assuming you getting Dunne for the possibility of him scoring goals like 2 seasons ago. If so, I think there are better/cheaper options.

I have all 3 at the moment, Holt is set as 1st sub at the moment. The other 2 have at least played premier league football and showed some form. That's not to say they will both do better but it's my guess!

There's very little below 6m that I would consider good. I think that's why a lot of people have Moses. I would personally look to save money elsewhere if you only have 5m for a mid and don't want to go with Moses

      No.

Downgrade Huth. I assume you have Enrique in the hope he plays for Livpool. Even if he gets trsfr I doubt it's in time for the weekend.

Bale is a poor man's VDV. Given will concede gw 1. Play Al-habsi for save points.

You need some Chelsea coverage I think. Beattie..??rather get Holt.

Jarvis is probably a bit safer than O'Hara, but I like them both.

Tough fixtures out of the gate for the Swans have me avoiding Sinclair.

If you want more risk, go with Barton and hope for a transfer.
