The Premier League earlier today confirmed the cancellation of Tottenham’s scheduled home game with Everton this Saturday. The club’s ticket office was damaged during days of civil unrest earlier in the week and with control of Tottenham High Road not due to be handed back to the local council from police until tomorrow, there is insufficient time to issue a safety certificate for the match.

Premier League chief executive Richard Scudamore said earlier today:

The very latest situation is that Tottenham and Everton has gone. The police have done a fantastic job, but it’s been a crime scene all week and the council have not had enough time to do what they need. The other nine fixtures are looking positive, subject to any more trouble. At 6pm tonight we will have a very clear picture.

Tottenham elaborated further on the club website afterwards:

Following ongoing discussions with the necessary authorities regarding this weekend’s Premier League home match against Everton, it has now been confirmed that this fixture will be postponed due to safety concerns relating to infrastructure of the High Road and access to the stadium caused by last Saturday’s riots.

The scenario leaves Fantasy Managers with some re-thinking to do ahead of Saturday‘s deadline, then. At the moment, Leighton Baines and Phil Jagielka have a combined ownership of 470K Fantasy Premier League (FPL) for the visitors while a look at the home side shows Gareth Bale, Luka Modric and Rafael Van der Vaart have been selected by 350K, 198K and 141K Fantasy managers respectively.

Spurs’ opening game of the season is now a visit to Old Trafford and with a difficult home game with Man City in Gameweek 3, short-term investment in their players could drop as a consequence. Everton, on the other hand, open their campaign at Goodison Park against QPR before taking a trip to Blackburn.

The 6pm Premier League update will provide more clues. At present, the nine games look likely to go ahead, meaning there’s a Double Gameweek on the horizon for at least two teams before the season has even kicked-off.

Carroll didn't even take penalties at Newcastle. No way he steps into the Liv side and claims penalties of the bat. Kuyt is solid anyway. Can't remember him missing at all.

Not tired as such, but I think there's very little risk in going with Moses. I considered him last year after his move from Palace.

He's real quality.. reminds me of A Young when Watford were promoted (and relegated!). Geez, how long ago is that?

+1 swap Sinclair to Downing and you have my midfield. Trying to go even cheaper and shoehorn Suarez or Carroll in, but I can't ignore Rodallega's fixtures and the flexability in having a cheap striker.

Phooey, VP is always injured, Rooney goes on barren runs, Suarez still has plenty to prove. I'm full sure all of them will go on a good run but if you put these three in at the start of the season and left them there you and the rest of your team will struggle. Gotta pick them and ship them out at the right.

There are enough MFs around the 6.5m mark that I think one (or max 2) 9m+ midfielders are more than enough if you swap players in and out due to form/fixtures etc.

Only reason Terry is guaranteed to start is because he is captain.

IMO as a MANU fan Chelsea should have Ivanovic, Alex, Luiz, Cole

Terry shouldn't even be in the England Team it should be Dawson + Smalling/Jones for now.

It is not a poor 11 imo. Your defence is weak though.

You prob need to downgrade one of you expensive midfielders, upgrade your defence and sub bench. Change Dunne.

Considering his 11 has 1 player who hasnt played all pre season, 1 which is a major risk of being a sub ..kelly. Playing 7 away from home opening day and doubling up at back away to fulham is poor.

And he has no subs as de laet will come in for alcaraz.

    Carroll Bent Holt

Pretty happy with my team now. I know I’ve got a fairly weak defence but I reckon there’s never many clean sheets at the beginning of the season, I’ll probably upgrade after the dust settles.

I believe it’s worth it as I’ve managed to squeeze in Nani, Silva, Malouda, Carroll & Bent.
Between them that’s almost guaranteed goals every week. Haven’t seen many other RMTs with 3 big mids AND 2 big fwds.

?? 1. Who should I bench GW1 – Moses (NOR) Taarabt (BOL) or Holt (wig)??

Simple question for you guys; Which is the better option over the first 4 gameweeks:
    (a) Hoilett (6.0)
    (b) Holt (5.5m)

I wont bog you down with my strategy, I can afford to invest a small bit more in my strikers but wish to keep some cash in the bank so I'm more flexible to make changes in GWs 2&3. My forwards so far are Bent and Zamora but I want a third "cheapie".
I'm inclined to go with Hoilett as I prefer his opening fixture. Any thoughts?

Jadson is a brazilian forward-mid of Shacktar. Really fast, make some damage for the Brazilian National Team and for Shacktar (In Champions League)

Its Malouda a safe pick? I have seen him in alot of teams, but I' m not sure. With Kalou, Benayoun and Sturridge (after GW3), is not a there a rotation risk?
