We’re almost there. After three months, countless RMT’s (That’s Rate-My-Team for our new readers), a whole host of injury scares and the regular gamut of transfer talk, the season is now just hours away.

This means just one thing- it’s time for a host of the Fantasy Football Scout team to start off one last debate by sticking our necks on the line with predictions for the year to come. As evidenced by last year, our choices can range from the sublime to the ridiculous – let’s see how the cards fall for 2011/12…

I, Andy, kick things off by singling out teams and players I am not perhaps known for endorsing. Towing the party line, then, I’ve done everything I can to make my predictions as impartial as possible. Not believe me? Look- no Fernando Torres…

That's not too bad. Solid defence, however Enrique might not play and I fear Ferdy's place might be threatened from recent performances from Jones and or Smalling, unlikely but Ferguson always plays whoever is performing better.

Not sold on Drogs now that Torres is supposed to recover in time to play.

Adam is a big risk IMO at 9.0, same with Yaya at 8.0.

Too much money spent on defense.

Ferguson is just like flushing 4.0 down the drain. Killing your 5th midfield spot for more cash elsewhere is a tactic I dont see working.

      Weak coverage up front

New plan. Start with Dzeko, Malouda and 1.5mil in the bank, giving me the option of either upgrading Malouda to Lampard or Dzeko to a 10mil striker. Lampard is the only player I ever worry about not having and not being able to get, but I think Malouda will thrive in this Chelsea side with the focus likely on width and quick transitions. I want some City and would rather gamble on Dzeko with a way out than go for Silva until I know what they look like when Nasri and Aguero are playing.

What is going on with Ivanovic and Luiz on the injury front. Both are orange flagged. I would like to get one of them. Is it worth just paying up for Cole to avoid the rotation risk. I just fancy Ivo to get some goals this season.

    Cheers

Neither are playing this weekend. Go with Bosingwa for cheap Chelsea.

Not worth getting him for 1 or 2 weeks IMO.

        Just go with A Cole.

Cheers Guys. Your different responses have highlighted my dilemma, although Boswinga, who I have considered, is less likely to get a run of games than the other two.

I think I will just pay up for Cole. . Although I could really do with the extra 2.0 and go with Bosingwa,

Is Bramble not pretty much nailed on to start?

Team news doesn't seem to think so...

I think he will start. If Ferdinand starts, Bruce has lost it (well, I guess that's likely then!)

Go with Brown if you're hesitant.

I honestly think he will start and I'm keeping him in. I'm one of the few that doesn't take everything said on FFS as gospel. :p

my utd, pool, and arsenal coverage is

    rooney, carroll and RVP

in order to put malouda back in for a cheap mid, its either rooney/rvp->zamora or carroll->holt
    WWYD?

I did rooney->zamora. The reason is that Van Persie has never let me down, Rooney has, and there could be a couple of goals in that game against New Castle.

    Final Draft 🙂

    Mignolet
    Cole Kompany Senderos
    Malouda Silva Downing Moses
    Bent Holt Gervinho

Subs : Ruddy Enrique Pennant Brown

Any thoughts or suggestions or is it good to go ?
With nasri and cesc gone , Gervinho will be pivotal for arsenal i believe . worth a punt or any better options than him ?

    Sessegnon / Yaya / Downing / Nzogbia / Moses

    Rooney / Gervinho

    Ruddy / Holt / Taylor / Gabbidon / 2.5Million in the bank.

unsure where to spend the money....any suggestions? Cheers for the replys (if anyone does!) Ha

Yes. Hopelessly bad revamp of the site. Increased volume should have been anticipated imediately prior to GW1, and resources put in place to address. Not happy either.
