We’re almost there. After three months, countless RMT’s (That’s Rate-My-Team for our new readers), a whole host of injury scares and the regular gamut of transfer talk, the season is now just hours away.

This means just one thing- it’s time for a host of the Fantasy Football Scout team to start off one last debate by sticking our necks on the line with predictions for the year to come. As evidenced by last year, our choices can range from the sublime to the ridiculous – let’s see how the cards fall for 2011/12…

I, Andy, kick things off by singling out teams and players I am not perhaps known for endorsing. Towing the party line, then, I’ve done everything I can to make my predictions as impartial as possible. Not believe me? Look- no Fernando Torres…

Berbs has experience and a proven track record behind his back. Compared to Welbeck who just broke into the first team. Man United has to start the season with a win... The question was will he start and I'm almost positive he will. But like he said I wouldn't touch Berbs either... He's bound to get rotated at some point. What do I know... I'm just a Liverpool fan.

From what I saw of Arshavin last year, he mostly slotted in high on the left, dropping in behind the striker every now and again.

Totally ineffectual 90% of the time.

I don't think there is much of a risk. But I'm not an Arsenal fan. I just know that most of their players are injured or are in the middle of being transferred. Which means people like Ramsey, who have experience, are likely to fill in. The only player that can fill in for Fabre is really Nasri(who is also going to leave). I don't see why Wenger wouldn't play Ramsey.

At first glance that team doesn't even look affordable. Which I guess is a good sign.

Mmhm. Could potentially get Malouda in for Lampard and a 6mil in for Dyer. But maybe see how Moses and Holt start the season.

    The big question still is:

    DJ or Holt?!?!?

we won't know until the season starts... But it I were to go off the teams they will be playing against then I think DJ will have a better chance of scoring (if he starts)....

I agree, but if Taarabt is in my team already, wouldnt Holt be better?

Holt might be better for GW1 as his team has the best offense of the 3 promoted teams; this of course is based on last year's stats. He's also against one of the teams with the crappiest defenses in the league; this again based on last season's stats.

DJ Campbell isn't a for sure starter, but he's proved that he can score in the Premier. It's really a punt between the two. I think Holt should be able to manage but again his shitty defense will ultimately be his downfall. Hopefully he can keep his moral up.

Take out Taarabt and put in Sessegnon and then but in DJ Campbell.

Hey all! Quick opinion on my team would be much appreciated! 😀

    de Gea (Cerny)
Cahill, Kompany, Jose Enrique (de Laet, Brown)
Silva, Taarabt, Maouda, N'Zogbia (Ben Arfa)
    Drogba, Dzeko, Doyle

Not sure about Doyle - Would rather have DJ Campbell or Holt. Moses for Ben Arfa for sure. Cahill out because he has a couple of nasty fixtures to begin with and bring in another 5.5 defender.

      I'd bench Holt.

Liverpool are likely to concede and Sess is likely to be involved if they do so.

This doesn't apply to anyone in particular but I'm reading through pages slowly while doing anything else (probably others are too), so rather than repost I'd suggest bookmarking previous RMTs to check for replies. I've had replies given hours later than my original post before. 😛

Good advice; when the 'new' site goes live, it has a feature where you can request an e-mail when a post of yours has been replied to. That will help in this regard, I'd imagine.
