Let’s not dilly-dally shall we. The Scout chatroom has opened for the dawn of a new Fantasy Football season with the The Saturday Surgery here for the last-gasp panic.

There will undoubtedly be even more panic than normal on what is arguably the busiest, and most fraught, period of the whole season.

We’ve opened three rooms in anticipation of a potential abundance of users, we encourage you to spread about and help those as they help you with your last minute quandary.

The first Saturday Surgery of the season is open.

      I think its just the sheer numbers that have registered this year. There has been a lot of publicity and word of mouth.

        Hope the problems this morning don't continue throughout the day. Would be a massive shame (not least for fpl themselves) if people can't use their site.

    Well there goes the deadline. Bunch of cernts!! Oh well only transfer I wanted to make was drogba to carroll so who knows, could be blessing in disguise. Mind you does screw up my planned transfer nxt week which is annoying.

    Sorted it last few days like you Jordan, though not last night! I too am amazed that some have left it so late, ok maybe a late tinker but should have the main side sorted by now. Never trust computers or systems! But that's because I'm an old git now!

      Since when was not making a change 8pm last night the "last minute"?
      I don't think the changes I want to make now will kill me..but I am getting sick and tired people saying leaving it until the last minute when it was nearly 15 hours ago and not the "last minute".
      The change I wanted to make only came about last night so sue me for not thinking I'd be able to log in yesterday or today to make the change.

    Well after trying til morning yesterday and a good two hours today not even a glimpse of my side...what a load of ****.

    Don't see why the deadline is 11:30 anyway, games aren't until three, so what's wrong with making the deadline 2pm?

      I would go even further - the game is enough of a lottery these days with squad rotation, injury, snow, ice, riots etc. Why not elimninate at least one 'chance' factor by allowing people to make changes until 15 mins before the first games kick off - i.e. so that they can take into account the teams that have actually been announced?

        I was in touch last night and they were working overnight attempting to solve the issues. I've not been in touch with them this morning - I don't think my call would have helped matters. However I will press them to find out some facts and post what info I can.

        Apologies - due to the issues at the fpl, you can imagine the kind of traffic we were getting. I've been all hands to the pump ensuring we stay online.

        Apologies also for those receiving some server errors - we have a fix for this but didn't want to risk rolling it out at a high traffic period.

          Thanks Mark. It's hugely annoying and frustrating, but there is nothing that can be done about this week. The vital thing is that they carry out a full 'lessons learned' to ensure their site does not crash again on a Friday night/Saturday morning.

    Hi,

    Whilst they may not listen we have enough people on here that they just might if we agree on a solution. I think it's safe to say that they won't extend the deadline or to be more precise they won't be able to fix the issues in time, so what would you like to happen?

    I think they should either just completely ignore GW1, harsh on people who do well but they were the lucky ones anyway or perhaps slightly fairer to all is to give everyone a wildcard to use between GW1 - GW2 this would give the people who spent time on their teams before a bit of a bonus (20 points) whilst levelling the playing field from GW2 for people who really hadn't had time to make their subs.

    Thoughts (or other options), if we suggest it they might just agree...

      No. The rules are the rules. Why should they be changed because you couldnt log in for a small window before the game started. YOu've had weeks to pick a team.

      Besides, its force majeaure. Exactly the same for everyone. Nobody has been unfairly treated

        I tried to log in at 8pm YESTERDAY. Since when was 15 hours a small window of time?
        Not all of us have the free time to be on a computer 24/7 like some people it seems...sigh.

              yes, uploading the kill.net app to the fpl server last night really did the trick 🙂

              but in all seriousness, you have had 4 weeks. why did you leave it til the last minute?

              that was taking a risk... and something you should've thought about

              ive logged in from dodgy internet cafes in asia enough times to know that the tinterweb isnt 100% relaible. its a small risk, but one not worth taking.

    Lets be honest guys. We should all have had a team we were happy with. A few tweaks were maybe required but on a whole we should have a team we were happy with last night before the problems. You will probably find that the players that didn't get a chance to make those last minute tweaks will end up scoring better than those that did...
