Before we draw a line firmly under the first Gameweek, we’ve decided to analyse some individual performances over the weekend. By looking at the Opta stats of Fernando Torres, we can see what his Sunday showing at the Britannia offered in comparison to his average displays for the Blues last term. The same applies to Robin Van Persie- no goals from the Dutchman at St James on Saturday night, but how did his game hold up?

In this first Members article of the active Fantasy season, we also take a look at Victor Moses and Ashley Young’s Man United league debut, weighing up what the pair’s new roles this season have offered so far…

        He was last week for me but this week I just think Torres has too tasty a fixture to ignore.

        I actually think Roon is the safest bet though. I'm sure Utd will score at OT and Roon will get an assist or a goal (or both).

        But Torres could literally score a hat-trick against West Brom. AVB has unleashed the beast 🙂

    Crazy decision to make Baines (C) ???

    My forwards are capable of racking up some points this weekend, if Baines has clean sheet + bonus + 90m etc, you are looking at some good points. Very risky, or silly gamble?

      Go with the one you think is right,defenders can be dodgy,but very rewarding when they're right. Home games only is what I've ever done and still missed out on good points.

      Examples of how bonus point ties will be resolved are as follows:

      If there is a tie for first place, Players 1 & 2 will receive 3 points each and Player 3 will receive 1 point.

      If there is a tie for second place, Player 1 will receive 3 points and Players 2 and 3 will receive 2 points each.

      If there is a tie for third place, Player 1 will receive 3 points, Player 2 will receive 2 points and Players 3 & 4 will receive 1 point each.

    Would you be worried about not having Baines or Chelsea defensive cover?
    Currently fielding Kompany Enrique/Jagielka and Brown/Simpson both of whom rotate.
    Don't really see the value in Enrique given the fixtures if I'm not rotating him.

    I've seen a lot of Yaya Toure vs Silva debating going on, so with another 9.5mil attacking mid in Nasri looking more likely to join every day, where will Nasri fit into peoples plans, and (possibly more importantly) where do people think will he'll fit in the Man City squad?

    Or...

    Alex (6.0M) & Ramsey (6.5M)

    Either way I want a Chelsea defender there as they have quite an easy run of games, and Ramsey is playing well, but also Phil will get the captaincy and always tends to play well?

      p.neville is not a great fpl player. will not get you points, do you already have moses or n.dyer? maybe go with 1 of them in place of p.neville, im a big fan of a.cole, tried 2 build a team without him but always go back 2 having him in there

      Neville is a decent player but hardly a good player in FF terms. I'd stay well clear of him. Best you can hope for from him is 3pts.

        I know I do really like A.Cole in the team - I had him last year and all went well. Think is, I only have around 5M to spend on a midfielder, as I have a pretty decent team. So not too sure who to get. Did look at the option of Dyer but even he's too exp!?

      if you really don't want to downgrade Cole I'd suggest downgrading Hughes for Senderos, Sess for Krancjar (Tott) (he'll be moving tyneside shortly) and then you should have 4.5 for either Jones (wigan) or Tiote (Newc)

    Baines seems to be the focus of mass fantasy hysteria.

    Probably the most overvalued player in the game , yet i hear people captaining him. Madness with Arteta coming back to relieve him of most of his attacking potential
