Before we draw a line firmly under the first Gameweek, we’ve decided to analyse some individual performances over the weekend. By looking at the Opta stats of Fernando Torres, we can see what his Sunday showing at the Britannia offered in comparison to his average displays for the Blues last term. The same applies to Robin Van Persie- no goals from the Dutchman at St James on Saturday night, but how did his game hold up?

In this first Members article of the active Fantasy season, we also take a look at Victor Moses and Ashley Young’s Man United league debut, weighing up what the pair’s new roles this season have offered so far…

    Cant help but think my midfield is a bit weak and considering it is my forwads arnt that good?

      Downgrade cole and do something about the midfeild! Far too weak as you have already pointed out!

        I dont really wanna downgrade Cole because he is a big pointer in defence and without him my defence is alot weaker

        Ive got £1.5million to upgrade either Sess or Toure, i dont see the point in doing toure for Silva because i think Toure will get as many points especially if he scores alot

    I've had my head turned big time towards Lampard... with all the doubt surrounding Torres / Drogba / Malouda, he seems such a nice comfort pick with Chelsea's next 2 games. Makes me feel warm inside. And let's be honest, Chelsea should have had 2 or 3 penos at the weekend.

      Would get rid of Tiote, card magnet. Also have doubt about Taarabt and think Torres is a long term rotation risk. Otherwise all good.

      Johnson...on the basis that he had a superb game and is likely (I wouldnt say definte) to start...except that look at the player projections and make a pick...if neither then just flip a coin

      I'd personally prefer Yaya to Silva and upgrade elsewhere. Probably Bosingwa to Cole if you can raise the funds as I don't buy into him being first choice RB long term.

      Tate and Taylor will fight for LB, while Tate and Caulker will fight for CB. None nailed on, but Caulker is my choice as he's a better CB than Tate.

          Between Monk and Caulker for CB. Monk has just recovered from an injury and played for the reserves last night.
          Monk is the club captain but I think Caulker is the better player.

            hmm. so coot, regardless of who's the better player, who would you say is most nailed on out of tate, taylor and caulker? I've caulker for the mo, but screwed when monk gets back.

              It's a tough one. For now, Caulker. He's looked pretty good pre-season and I think he'll keep out Monk.

              Taylor should be the preferred lb but Tate can play in any position in the back 4 and was decent in the first game.

              Let's see who gets the nod in the next few games at lb. I think it will be Taylor but wouldn't be surprised to see Tate keep his place.

      They do have a run of decent fixtures and he still has a great finisher instinct and the potential to bang in a couple in a game. But Everton do often start the year so rusty. A bit of a risk but could really pay off. But the short term will probably be forced on you....
