Before we draw a line firmly under the first Gameweek, we’ve decided to analyse some individual performances over the weekend. By looking at the Opta stats of Fernando Torres, we can see what his Sunday showing at the Britannia offered in comparison to his average displays for the Blues last term. The same applies to Robin Van Persie- no goals from the Dutchman at St James on Saturday night, but how did his game hold up?

In this first Members article of the active Fantasy season, we also take a look at Victor Moses and Ashley Young’s Man United league debut, weighing up what the pair’s new roles this season have offered so far…

Paul Is certain he won't make the same mistakes next season. Follow them on Twitter

    Any thoughts on this?

Why are people wasting money on Everton defenders that aren’t Baines?

Everton are poor at the back and notoriously slow starters so even though they have nice fixtures, they are still likely to concede and there are better options elsewhere.

Also, along the ‘nice’ fixtures line, Everton have a history of struggling to break poorer teams down when the emphasis is on them to do the pressing at Goodison and they actually fair better against the better sides that they can counter against.

I have Baines as he’s at the heartbeat of almost everything they do and I’ve got him for the full season barring injury, but wouldn’t touch anyone else until I’ve seen that they are a different side this year.

    Just my thoughts.

they make concede but surely against QPR all they have to do is stick p.neville on taarabt and job done.
last season they did the same with adam and he hardly saw the ball and B'pool suffered.
QPR low on confidence, and sure they may come back fighting in this game but i can only see it going one way.

      worth at least a punt

Young's fixtures aren't good but he looked sharp so perhaps worth keeping. Otherwise Malouda or Lamps is a good shout.

I suppose you have Chelsea cover with Torres but Chelsea's fixtures are great so doubling up would be pretty good. Bent and Rooney good choices too. Overall it's pretty good.

Though you need to check whether Given's injury heals by Saturday.

PPI takes into consideration of things such as distance covered, passes completed (even if it had nothing to do with a positive play), but also take away pts for shots off target, wayward passes etc..

That is because there shots weren't on target, carroll got a -15 and after numerous of his headers going wide i can understand why. Don't like it tho, as you getting penalised for trying.

Good GK combo (personally I'm going with Vorm for save points)
Cole and Baines = points and you have the desirable Sun/New rotation also. Don't know who Caulker is.
U managed to fit in Lamps/Suarez/Torres in ur front 8 with decent options like Sess and Moses. Brunts fixtures from GW3 onwards are great, I'm going for him too.

Def is ; Chel and ManC to play every week along with a rotating Sun/New def. Leaves me with 4.0 to spend on a 5th

No chance Moyes will field Beckford and Saha when Cahill is fit too as he's too cautious.

Saha will up top with Cahill off him and then a midfield of possibly Arteta, Fellani, Neville/Heitenga/Rodwell, Osman

Yeah thats what I'm doing. Wait and see if Aguero is being benched and what happens to Tevez.

He looked a bit better against Stoke on fairness. He will get chances against West Brom and Norwich, so I would say he's worth the gamble

I'm going with Torres the next 2 home games while City travels, then switch to Aguero.

My opinion is that you only need 0.5 to 1.0 max as a contingency fund. You might as well spend it lad!

      Like ur team.
