The breeze from the doors closing on the Saturday Surgery can still be felt on Fantasy Manager’s faces as the Dugout Dicussion opens up for another full day of football action.

The local derby of Sunderland hosting Newcastle kicks off at noon at the request of their police forces.

This starts off the six games we have to look forward to, across four different kick-off times, in total today. As the half time oranges start getting handed out at the Stadium of Light we’ll then see Arsenal and Liverpool kick off affairs in front of the television cameras.

A trio of three o’clock kick-offs join the deluge of Football League fixtures before Chelsea round out the day at home to West Brom as poll topper Fernando Torres will either make or spoil many weekend’s – looks like Saturday night Shandy’s will be in order whatever the result.

The Dugout Discussion stays through all the action as we take in our first proper and fully functioning (fingers crossed!) gameweek.

    I can understand the processing power needed to crunch through roughly two million wildcards. update all the H2H leagues etc.

    But almost every professional services company (IBM, Sun/Oracle, HP etc) offer this service called "Capacity On Demand" which means at high load levels then the processing is spread over more servers and at low loads then it can run on a 386.

    Has anyone at FPL towers ever heard of this, or are they outsourcing the entire thing to some guy in India with a bike, a generator, a rubber band and a 486?

    For a supposedly professional organisation this is an utter fiasco.

    If I was in charge then there would be a massive goolie chopping session. 🙂

        India is the major outsourcing location for most European companies.

        It wasn't meant as a slur, just an observation laced with a smidgen of humour. Which Cheggers obviously doesn't have. 🙂

    It's obvious to me the guy who is running the server is knackered. He's on his Raleigh grifter instead of his bomber and it's causing no end of consternation on his dynamo, he can't get the gears to go from red to blue the way he wants to.
    Best get down to halfords to speed the process up.

    To all of yous that say chill out the point of the game for me is that I want to see me friends teams I still have no idea who I should and shouldn’t be shouting for that’s half the fun, maybe your some sort of a fantasy football monk who just sets themselves a target each week and tries to beat it but I play against real people that change their teams and it’s wrecking me head.

      no monks here, though i did have a duvel just now. just suggesting that everyone relax a bit and enjoy the footie.

      i think everyone on the board feels the same as you, many have just accepted that the system, as of now, is sub-par.

      I agree with you jamrag. Thats how I get fun out of it, look at my mini league, see the captain choices, scream with joy when a rivals captain gets carded, misses pen or benched etc.

      I reckon they will get it working for next week.

    This season has been absolute pants. Impossible to predict.

    Those guys who have slammed bent in and then gabby and heskey rake in the pts.

    QPR couldnt hit a barn door last week and now theyv broken the dreams of anyone with baines or jags in their team (me)

    Newcastle have a depleated squad yet win 1.0 away at sunderland, a team rich with ace players ( no sess pts for me)

    Dalglish tried to pi$$ on my parade with suarez on bench...and liverpool who appeared to be all over the place at the back last week now looked solid.

    To round off my team i need rooney to score a hatrick (i dropped him), torres to be on the bench and lampard (my captain) to miss a pen.

    I've won my mini leage 3 times in the last 4 years but already i'm 23rd and losing ground. The problem is that if i played my wildcard i couldnt possibly make my team any better. I'm off to take my toaster in the bath.
