It’s the third Saturday of the season and, unless you’re on wildcard number three, the subtle tinkering that separates the wheat from the chaff finally takes over. You’re not completely on your own however, as The Saturday Surgery opens it’s doors for another session.

All the resources you need to make your decisions as informed as possible are at your fingertips. The weekend Team News is bang up-to-date, the Scout Picks have been selected (and let’s face, they’re almost guaranteed to do better than the first two efforts) and the Injuries and Bans table is there as a sanity check to avoid those daft last-minute punts on crocked players (I’ve been there).

For me, I’ll be making the subtlest of changes… zero transfers, same captain. So I’m off to pop the kettle on, and when I get back I’ll heading over to the The Saturday Surgery to smugly take pleasure as others scramble around for inspiration. Enjoy.

      if ferdinand is back this gw (very likely) then either smalling or evans will be benched, and thyr playing arsenal
      kalou is not guarateed to start after last week's awful showing and with bench support like tiote and reo coker im affraid all u can wish for this week is to live to fight another day

    Should I play 3-5-2 with Moses on the midfield instead of 4-4-2 with Simpson as the extra def?
    I've been thinking that if Moses doesnt start, he will not be subed later on in the match. And Newcastle looks strong at home.

      Do Torres->Bent for free and take just one freebie for next week or save the transfer and get two free next week?I'm really tempted by Bent.If he scores,he's also bound to get maximum bonus,so assuming Torres doesn't score,it's a seven point swing.The worst that can happen is that I'll have to give 4 of those 7 points away next week,yet I'm still on +3.Thoughts?

        JackAttack, nice team there. Not sure of VDV form/fixtures, but think he'll benefit down the road with adebeyour joining. Decent rotation options in defence, so you prob never need to make any transgers there with them lot, so leaves your transfers purely for attacking players. three of your midfielders are of the cheap option, but you can't have it everyway, esp. with a decent/expensive front Five (out of eight).         I'd be shocked if he didn't start though the full 90 mins is far from guaranteed. I'd go with Lampard as captain anyway.

          Both agree that he won't play 90 minutes, but disagree on how he will do in the time he does play. I see points being inevitable but with Lampard I'm not so sure.
