It’s the third Saturday of the season and, unless you’re on wildcard number three, the subtle tinkering that separates the wheat from the chaff finally takes over. You’re not completely on your own however, as The Saturday Surgery opens it’s doors for another session.

All the resources you need to make your decisions as informed as possible are at your fingertips. The weekend Team News is bang up-to-date, the Scout Picks have been selected (and let’s face, they’re almost guaranteed to do better than the first two efforts) and the Injuries and Bans table is there as a sanity check to avoid those daft last-minute punts on crocked players (I’ve been there).

For me, I’ll be making the subtlest of changes… zero transfers, same captain. So I’m off to pop the kettle on, and when I get back I’ll heading over to the The Saturday Surgery to smugly take pleasure as others scramble around for inspiration. Enjoy.

      I hate the fact that I don't have Bent.But I don't know if I should do Torres->Bent or save the transfer and have two for next week in case I decide to bring in RVP next week.

        I don't have Bent and I'm not worried in the slightest. I have Rooney and Suarez and I think over the course of the season if those 2 stay fit they'll both outscore Bent. Both better captain options too.

        Bent scored well last week though but thats normally followed by a barren week or 2 where he's concerned.

          I've just put it on Lampard - figure he has 90 mins and pens and easy opposition. If he does nothing then it's added incentive to shift him (stupid logic I know).

          I think Suarez will do well but I think Lampard is owned by less people and if he does well then it's a great advantage

            Ditto, tinkerman, I have Rooney, Suarez and Lamps and I've gone for Lamps as captain too.

            If Lamps flames out today then he's out and I'll have a lot of spare cash to play with and 2 free transfers to use it on.

            If he scores well then its a bonus but, really, the way I see it is what's the point of paying £12m for him if I won't captain him at home against Norwich?

            On paper its a much easier game than Rooney or Suarez have. If not, well its still early on in the season so a bad captain choice won't kill us.
