Manchester United have just joined Edin Dzeko in turning Gameweek three upside down.

In 90 minutes of football, United simply blitzed a bewildered Arsenal, ravaged by injury and suspension, ill-equipped and unprepared for the waves of United attacks and individual brilliance thrown at them.

For Fantasy owners of Wayne Rooney and Ashley Young, United’s 8-2 win has brought a rare bounty of points that will have transformed their Gameweek scoring. Three goals and an assist from Rooney, a brace and and three assists from Young, the returns are beyond our wildest expectations and the stuff of nightmares for Arsenal fans and their beleaguered manager who could only watch on while their inexperienced and shell-shocked side were dismantled. Those Fantasy managers without the United pair are unlikely to feel much better – mini-leagues have been turned on their head by today’s events.

This afternoon will have a major impact on the Fantasy Premier League game with Young and Rooney now inevitably set to enjoy huge investment during the international break. Prices will rise, Wildcards will flutter – an extraordinary end to our Fantasy Gameweek.

Mark Mark created the beast. He's now looking to tame it.

Those who've been top 1000 worldwide on this site is it better to wildcard early season or wait and use it for the run in.

I've always used it for the run in and have been circa 5 to 7000 worldwide at the end of the season.

I've got 2 freebies this week, and will save the wildcards in the hope of double headers later in the season. Ive done torres to dzeko as one transfer so far to catch price rise/loss (wish i had listened to my head 2 weeks ago when i got tosser sorry torres in)

    2 questions

1, if youve taken a 4 point hit already and then wildcard, do you no longer get deducted 4pts?

2, is wilcarding and getting in all the price risers for the next week a good idea, how many players are likely to go up 0.2m to cash in on them

Absolutely, patience is a virtue. I know the prices are going the rise steeply but is it worth getting a player only for him to miss the next game. I did it once last season getting Modric in on a Friday, only for him to go down with an appendicitis later that evening.

Not me. Would only want Dzeko in, so not worth it.

Voice of reason. All of a sudden Nani becomes a quality differential.

Err, Valencia? Thought Nani was pretty poor today, so wasteful.

The average score this GW is 51. That must be close to a record.

I should beat the 60 point mark which normally would be pretty decent... I need reminding it's a marathan not a sprint... I WILL end up inside the top 5,000 again no matter!!! Arrggghhh 🙂
