Manchester United have just joined Edin Dzeko in turning Gameweek three upside down.

In 90 minutes of football, United simply blitzed a bewildered Arsenal, ravaged by injury and suspension, ill-equipped and unprepared for the waves of United attacks and individual brilliance thrown at them.

For Fantasy owners of Wayne Rooney and Ashley Young, United’s 8-2 win has brought a rare bounty of points that will have transformed their Gameweek scoring. Three goals and an assist from Rooney, a brace and and three assists from Young, the returns are beyond our wildest expectations and the stuff of nightmares for Arsenal fans and their beleaguered manager who could only watch on while their inexperienced and shell-shocked side were dismantled. Those Fantasy managers without the United pair are unlikely to feel much better – mini-leagues have been turned on their head by today’s events.

This afternoon will have a major impact on the Fantasy Premier League game with Young and Rooney now inevitably set to enjoy huge investment during the international break. Prices will rise, Wildcards will flutter – an extraordinary end to our Fantasy Gameweek.

Mark Mark created the beast. He's now looking to tame it.

Hypothetically speaking, if I'd accidentally clicked "confirm transfers" instead of wildcard is there a way to get my points back?

I might do something maverick with my Torres sale and instead of buying Edin Dzeko ...get Luis Suarez. Eat your heart out Diniyar Bilyaletdinov.

Never selling Grant Holt, he's going to have a heart attack in GW14 after they run out of pies in the Norwich stalls and just lie there in my team forever.

Thoughts on what point hit you would go up to until you would considering WCing?

The way I look at it, still a bit crazy season and their could be some interesting moves to come and quality players to come to the fore. I'm on the big rises so that's not a huge problem, I'm just now that banking this WC could work out very well for future DWGs, a load of injuries etc.

If there were 5 or so players I HAD to change, I'd go for it. But at this stage players you've picked can still easily come good, particularly with fixtures on their side, so definitely favour hanging on a bit personally.

Hmm, I was possibly looking at 12. I'm not against hits like that, did a few like that last year that paid off. Doing that would get me covered on the big boys and teams with the good fixtures. If I WC'd I'd get the same big players and still wouldn't no what filler players to put in, still the juries out on the better cheapies.

Thanks - not a bad shout - my defence is quite poor, although I'd probably spend the 0.5m on Ferguson to Dyer I think. I would sacrifice Silva out of the two cos I think Silva's returns may suffer with Nasri now in the more attacking role?

I think people are, perhaps rightly, aggrieved that all he has to do is be a £20m doorstop to get them.

Hey, he got the last touch on the ball before a goal so it's an assist... but he didn't exactly "earn" it. But what's his is his.

So I wildcarded late last night to catch price risers and had a front three of suarez, rooney and klasnic.

Now really I ought to get Dzeko in even if I don't want him as he's bound to rise by at least .2 during the two weeks, but who do I take out for him?

Bought Suarez at 9.6 (now 9.7) bought Klasnic last night (so he's risen once, most probably never gonna have him come next gw) and Rooney, (who hasn't risen once but looks like he might soon according to total fpl).

Any advice would be great as not used to doing this cheers

Judging by today's transfer activity, Klasnic is more likely to rise again than Suarez, but I wouldn't be surprised if neither player rise again this week.

I'd get rid of Klasnic, it's what I've done.

With a WC pick whoever you think will go up .2, then pick who you like just before the deadline or just after the .2 increase is firm on your team. Very unusual for someone to go up .4 in this break.

Right I need a little bit of perspective here on a moral dilemma.

I have a minileague which I set up in 2006, it is intended only for people working in the same field as me and it's been growing from the original six or seven teams in 2006 to about thirty today. Now I've won it a couple of times, so has a rival of mine so there's a bit of competition and rivalry going on.

This main rival of mine last week entered a new team under his son's name. His son is about 6 years old, so basically I suspect that this is just a second team for him. Like a nazi bollocks I've basically posted on the forum in a nice enough way that the team will have to go, as it is clear (and he has admitted) that he 'helps' his son with the team. (I can't see many 6 year olds playing this by themselves).

Now I've been getting a bit of flack on the forum that I'm a mean git and I should leave the side in there.

Basically am I being unreasonable in your opinion to not want a second team from one person in the league, I offered to set up a new minileague that we could enter but that I'd rather keep the old league for fellow professionals (professionals as in the field that I work in, not professional FPL players, I'm not THAT bad).

    Am I being a bollocks?

If it wasn't such an abysmal pun you could say that the archaeological profession was in ruins.

Not in my opinion. The 6 year old kid hardly qualifies as someone working in the same field as you anyway! As you say, the side is hardly going to be being managed by a six old kid, and even if he does have some minimal involvement in the side, he's hardly going to realise if you kick him out of the league.

I think it's just some sneaky bugger trying to have two teams to maximise his chances of winning! Do you play for money?

Not in the way that winner gets xxx and second gets xxx - more personal one on one bets.

You've summed up the way I think about it. Basically I've said it costs nowt to create a new minileague, so why enter into this one?

Nope your spot on. Give an inch and they'll all have one. It's happened at my work. Amazing how many people's wives suddenly play just because mine came 2nd last year.

I'm toally with you in this.. my rvial has three teams and he covers all bases and so at least one team does well each week... I beat him last year with his three teams 2nd, 3rd, 4th. this year i made him decide what team he wants in what league.

Also my old work one is for current employers. I won it twice but was not allowed to enter this year as no longer work there.. fair enough.

I think you've raised the issue and that's probqably enough at this stage - I don't think he should have done that, but people are crazy about their own kids.

Now if his sons starts doing well, you'll have the measure of the man and so will everyone else. Until then, sit tight buddy and let him lose interest. 30 players isn't exactly bosom buddies stuff. Grit your teeth and let him fawn over his child.

      Unless there's money on it.

Cheers for the input fellas. I had a sneaky suspicion that I might find one or two more in my way of thinking here. 🙂

I did press the all powerful 'remove this team from the league' button. However thanks to the uniquely competent way that the FPL site is currently running it has failed to delete the team from the league. So he's still in it.....for now.....

Don't really see the point in wildcarding yet, it's still all a little random who is getting all the points for me. I'm going to wait until I see potentially cheapies who are actually going to score points.

Do I do the following with WC:
    1) Long > Dzeko (for the inevitable 0.2rise then bring back long
    2) Yaya > NDyer
    3) NZog > Young
    4) Moses & Taarabt > to some players scoring decent points.

      1) Ya. Free money why not.
      2) No.
      3) No. Young has godawful fixtures.
      4) No. Which midfielder exactly is scoring decent points for 6.5 or less?

I was top 500 last year, top 15k the year before. So why am I currently sitting just outside the top 1.7m?

Just the way it goes, you will definitely get higher. This years game is wank though so I don't really care as long as I get top 50k.

This year it should be easier, cause many players may give up/ lose interest due to FPL site being shit
