In this latest article for Members we combine the current ownership data in the Fantasy Premier League (FPL) game and our very own ICT Index* data, to find a collection of ten players who could provide handy differentials over the weeks to come.

With the emphasis on value in the current Fantasy landscape – we particularly targeted budget players who could plug the gaps in your squad – with just one notable exception from Villas-Boas’ Kings Road fraternity.

A bi of a quandary over my sub choices for this week, largely down to my weak midfield (which I have to rectify over the next few weeks). What do people think? I need to choose 2 to play and 3 to bench out of:

    Sinclair (ars)
    de Laet (WBA)
    Brown (CHE)
    Surman (WBA)
    Moses (mci)

    Hi all
Advice please - I have used my wildcard to produce this:
    Given (Vorm)
Bosingwa, Enrique, Ward, (De Laet), (R Taylor)
    Young, Silva, Cabaye, Petrov, (Dyer)
    Rooney, Dzeko, Suarez
I have 2.1 million to spend.
Should I sort the defence by spending it there or get another decent midfielder in?
    Any ideas massively appreciated!

Cabaye to Arteta looks tempting (though I quite like the sound of Cabaye). Another possibility is upgrade Dyer to one of the 6.0 - 6.5 range players. Then you can rotate between players of equal ability.

Play Sinclair and Surman I reckon.
Norwich should do well against West Brom and Sinclair is on all set pieces. I think Arsenal might well stuff them, but always look likely to concede, especially with so many new players needing to gel

Thanks - the thing that worriers me about Surman is he may come on as a 1 pt sub. de Laet tempts me because a clean sheet for Norwich is not out of the question and he has a (small) goal threat.

Anyone have much experience dealing with bookies and payout issues etc? I jumped on Sparta Prague when they were listed at 20/1 despite being 1-0 up against a side from the third division. The bet is still listed as unsettled, I went on help chat and was told they were in the process of settling, just wondering as it was a clear error what my chances are of getting the whole shabang as opposed to just my stake back 😀

Was this with William Hill? I had a bet on a Swedish game tonight, and the home team's odds (7/10) didn't change after they went 1, then 2 up. I put more on each time, then they took the game off the site and put an error message up. My winnings have appeared, all based on the original odds. Boom!

    What do you'll think:

    A) Petrov and Dyer with Vorm and Ruddy as keepers
    or
    B) Moses and Dyer with Given and Vorm as keepers?

Got Young, Silva and Arteta to accompany them; Rooney, Suarez and Dzeko up front...

Leaning towards B - feel a bit exposed with A keeper-wise, and hoping Moses will come good at some point soon...

    Hennessy

    Bosingwa Kompany Mertesacka DeLaet

    Walcott Brunt Silva

    Dzeko Rooney(c) VanPersie

    subs: Brown Dyer Ferguson

(I know its a week bench, but with Brown going in for DeLaet, everyone of those players has good fixtures so wont need subs)

nice, i like it, front 6 instead of 7 is different but they are all good choices rather than trying to squeeze in another mid priced mid which means you have to weaken elsewhere, good luck with that

De Laet to Simpson so you can always play the three big defenders and a home defender. Then you don't have to worry about Dyer and Ferguson on your bench.

I guess the point of replies is reasoning contained in them so that you could incorporate it in your thinking, it's not just an imperative what you should do. Going with advice of successful players is sort of sheep behaviour

It's all too easy to be swayed by the volumous amounts of total crap written here though, especially if you're undecided or don't have a clue.

Apert from that, there is no reasoning on most of the advice put forward here. It's just opinion trying to gain support for their own dodgy selections 🙂

You need to separate the wheat from the chuff, I tend to ignore all the advice without reasoning, there is no point in it. Even successful players won't spend too much time trying to evaluate all the pitfalls with your team, so you shouldn't follow blindly with anyone's imperative I think... Eventually, it's you who is making decisions anyway...

Have a look at our goals last season, 90% of them started with Essien, then have a look at how many times he won the ball back for us, made key interceptions, blocks, basically won us countless matches. He's still class. Aren't you a Chelsea fan? Thought you would have paid more attention.

lampard was awesome though, you don't win things like UEFA club midfielder of the year and come runner up in world player of the year if you aren't doing something right. his downfall imo is that he looks like his success is 100% hard work and 0% talent which doesn't always win you admirers even though the end result is the same.
carroll is an obvious one. run of the mill under 21 striker and top champinship player to £35mil signing in the space of 10 goals.

Beckham is certainly in there. In fact there is a theme but I don't to face the same stick as DBR.

Ribery and Ibrahimovic are interesting selections. Dare I say Wayne Rooney? Excellent player but not World Class as many suggest. The term is used too liberally for my liking and The Office of Fair Trading should get involved.
