Gameweek four kicks off with no fewer than six 3pm Premier League fixtures. The Dugout Discussion chatroom will be a hive of activity right up until the final whistle at the Reebok stadium this evening.

All the team news from the games starting on the hour is in, and here are the headlines…

The unprecedented levels of fantasy investment in Edin Dzeko meant nothing to Roberto Mancini, who starts Carlos Tevez ahead of the Bosnian after his International endeavours. He sits alongside Samir Nasri on the City bench, who is nursing a broken hand.

At Goodison, new signings Royston Drenthe and Denis Stracqualursi join Ross Barkley and captain Phil Neville on the bench for the home side, who have to utilise Tim Cahill as their lone striker. Darren Bent recovers from the injury that kept him out of England duty last week to start for the visitors.

The returning Craig Bellamy is on the pine for Liverpool’s trip to the Britannia Stadium, sharing company with the likes of Andy Carroll and the injury-free Glen Johnson. Stoke City hand their record-signing Peter Crouch a first start against his former club.

More new signings making their debuts today are Scott Parker and Emmanuel Adebayor for a Spurs side away at in-form Wolves. The home side are forced to bench Matt Jarvis due to slight ankle injury.

Andre Villas-Boas rings in the changes for Chelsea, with Raul Meireles, Juan Mata, Petr Cech and Daniel Sturridge all in the starting line-up. That sees the much-maligned Fernando Torres joins Florent Malouda on the subs bench. Their opponents Sunderland stick Nicklas Bendtner straight into the first eleven.

Looking to bounce back from the 8-2 nightmare at Old Trafford, Arsenal give debuts to Per Mertesacker and Mikel Arteta, with Clarindo Andre Santos, Yossi Benayoun and Park Chu-Young all waiting in the wings on the bench.

It’s a lot to digest, so come and join in with the Dugout Discussion.

I hope there is a cessation of "that" play when Vorm picked it up. If not, then the assist rule is just ridiculous.

Agreed, it wasn't a goal kick so no different that Vorm picked the ball up than if he'd just parried it away. Under the new rules that should be an assist.

No. Vorm had controll over the ball. Nobody controlled the ball at Rooneys goal. No way thats an assist. Not that I think Rooney was either.

Pretty much exactly the same thing - In Rooney's his pass deflected off a defender and then was cleared by another into path of striker who scored. In Walcott's it was essentially deflected from keeper then off his throw to another player and into path of Arshavin. Whether or not Vorm picked it up is irrelevant - it's still in play. If it doesn't count they've contradicted their own rules.

Has it gone out of play? No. Then by the rules it's an assist if Rooney's is. Nothing in there about break down of attack or anything, it's pretty clear. I agree it's ridiculous but they are the rules.

No assist for Walcott, the goalkeeper picked up the ball and had full possession, it wasn't a clearance. Anything after that is unrelated to whoever touched the ball before.

"Assists are awarded to the player from the goal scoring team, who makes the last touch before the goal is scored.

If after this touch, an opposing player touches the ball outside the penalty area altering the intended destination of the ball, then no assist is given, except if this intervention directly results in an own goal."

Don't see anything where it says about 'full possession' or 'clearance'

Just seen the goal on YouTube before it gets taken down, looks like Vorm rolls it into Rangel's legs inside the box, however I think Walcott's shot takes a deflection outside the box, so probably won't be given. The trajectory of the ball seems to say it was a deflection, either that or an abysmal shot, the camera angle isn't the best tbh.

I have Walcott as my captain, but even so an assist for that would be crazy.

All you trying to get a Walcott assist are wasting your time. Vorm had full control over it, and that is where the Arsenal attack ended. It wasn't a punch or anything. He threw it at Rangel and then Walcott picked it up.
