Hallelujah – it’s business as usual in the Premier League. More to the point, it’s deadline day for fantasy football, and the Matchday Surgery chatroom is here to see you through it.

If you’ve left it late to make your transfers, or are just toying with final Fantasy Premier League wildcard adjustments, then one final sanity check is an absolute must. Come in and your comrades will attempt to deter you from any last-minute howlers (insert standard disclaimer).

Besides from the player market, there’s also the matter of selecting your double-scoring captain. With monster individual scores still burning in the memory, it’s a decision that cannot be taken lightly. A glance over at our poll sees Robin van Persie leading the way over two of those players with exceptional recent tallies in Wayne Rooney and Edin Dzeko.

May gameweek four treat us (especially me) well.

Akers Richard or Akers, as he is known, has been regularly haunting this site since July 2008. He is young and foolish, take what he says with a pinch of salt. Follow them on Twitter

Not sure if I want to see Dzeko get on the field (big 1 point potential) and then rely on Ward to come on, but then forego the chance of Dzeko doing an Aguero...

I would love to see Dzeko stay on the bench all game. Likelyhood of this happening tho is minimal imo. I wouldnt be leaving a player in such form as Dzeko completely out of a game.

No, people on here decided of their own accord that he'd be benched (correctly, so every respect to you guys).. Every media outlet i've seen seemed to be predicting him to start, and i agreed that he probably would, so i captained him. Plus, with Rooney as VC you can't go too far wrong 😛

Only way I'd be angry for having Dzeko is if I took a point hit to get him in or if I captained him, since I did niether I dont really care. Atleast either Tevez or Aguero will not play much more than 60mins and Dzeko will get about 30mins to get a goal or an assist.

Almost a miracle that he's played so much the first games, compared to how often he was unavailable for Spurs.

It could also be that Stoke FC knows how to take care of injury-prone players. Spurs obviously has some problems.

Regarding why I keep players who on first sight don't have the best fixture:

Both Rooney and Young are in top form, and their prices are rising. No point in selling, I think.

Even if Dzeko doesn't start, I'd rather have him come on as a sub and for the next games than i.e. Bent.
