United. Chelsea. City. Arsenal. Spurs. Liverpool. Everton.

Last season’s top seven have all already played and soaked up most of the action for Fantasy Managers. However we’ve still got games and we’ve still got Fantasy points on the line this afternoon. We start off by opening the Dugout Discussion for Norwich vs. West Brom…

The visiting side are able to partner up Shane Long and Peter Odemwingie for the first time while captain Chris Brunt and James Morrison drop to the bench with Graham Dorrans and Jerome Thomas coming in. The home side meanwhile continue with the regular bouts of rotation as the likes of Andrew Surman and Elliott Bennett return and Wes Hoolahan has to make do with a place on the bench. Teams in full are…

Norwich XI: Rudd, Naughton, Barnett, De Laet, Tierney, Bennett, Crofts, Bradley Johnson, Surman, Holt, Chris Martin

West Brom XI: Foster; Reid, Tamas, Olsson, Shorey; Dorrans, Scharner, Mulumbu, Thomas; Long, Odemwingie.

Sunday Premier League football will then close out with Fulham playing host to Blackburn as both sides look to fight their way out of the early relegation spots.

The Dugout Discussion will be here for both of these fixtures.

Did anyone who wildcarded have a worse week than me?

Nasri late sub (fair enough I knew that was a possibility)
Dzeko didn't play (was convinced it would be Aguero benched)
    Suarez...
Captain RVP (wasn't expecting a hat-trick, but was sure of a goal)
    Mata (okay pick just unlucky)
Young (seemed a better choice than Nani)
    Brunt (always starts doesn't he?)
Super sub Augustien (now out for 6 weeks)
Ward (fair enough 1pt was a possibility)
    Olsson (My one decent pick!)
    Hughes (injured 20 mins in)

    24pts!

Still I have super stopper Krul tomorrow...

I was thinking of RvP for rooney with my freebie but I think Augustien now takes care of that dilema...

Stick with you team. If you stick with a good group of players points will come in the long term. Just be patient. However Brunt is a rotation risk and Rooney is a must.

I'm not sure who isn't a rotation risk this season. Brunt is captain and has always played - maybe it was a minor injury?

I think with Rooney facing Chelsea and RvP facing Blackburn waiting until after next week for that swap, and using this weeks transfer to sort out augustien seems wisest (watch Rooney net three against Chelsea 😉 )

Well to be fair, it is one of Roon/Ron - as Messi will play on a different date (so basically I can have a combo of Roon/Messi or Ron/Messi+cash)

Good luck bingo I'm scared to go without cr7 and messi, Rooney may be a good option swell. Man utd group is weak and ferguson may even use these games to give berba and co a run out. Don't think benfica away is one of those games.

    for GW5 i'm looking at:

    Given
Kompany / Simpson / De Laet
    Silva / Brunt / Walcott / Jarvis
    RVP(c) / Rooney / Dzeko

    Bench: Vorm / Hall(QPR def) / Bosingwa / Ferguson

Think this is the best starting XI? Struggling to decide between De Laet and Hall but I have Jarvis whos at home to QPR so didnt want a clash so I went with De Laet. Crazy not to be captaining Rooney and sticking with RVP? lemme know

Good point kinda forgot Silva was an option, or Dzeko for that matter but after this weekend i'm always gonna doubt if he'll play.

something telling me to stick with RVP though given his fixtures surely hes gonna start scoring sooner rather than later hopefully, i'm probably gonna end up with a 4 point captain again whilst Rooney gets a hatrick vs Chelsea, thats the way things have been going atm

I had RVP this weekend and I am taking the form & fixture into account. The point gain for Silva scoring will be higher than RVP and Silva is as much likely to be in any attack as RVP will be at Arsenal.

          That is just my thoughts.

This is the first time I've done FF and I'm wondering if those who've been doing this for a while or even just played last year could tell me whether it's always been this random? I think everyone would agree that a lot of the high scorers so far are there through luck? At the moment there doesn't seem like skill will get you anywhere in this game, is that always the case?

At the start of the season as it is people who dont really know what they are doing/dont monitor their team can have good starts but overall as the season progresses people on here etc will end up climbing their mini leagues and so on and generally end up coming out on top, always going to be an element of luck but 'skill' is certainly existent

This is a tough year to call and anyone who loaded up on the top Manchester players and captained Rooney will be doing well-anyone who over analysed it is probably struggling, like me. I was however in a similar position last year and finished ok-stick with it.

Aside from Rooney's resurrection and Man City's tactical transplant, there has not been any major shocks. With the exception of RVP, Chelsea and Arsenal have been poor sources of FPL points for a year, but fixtures give people short memories.

    Given

Bosingwa - Enrique - Simpson (left yet to play)

Mata - Young - Nasri - Mikel (Bad choice i know)

    Rooney - Suarez - Dzeko

    44 points all in all.

Too top heavy. Lucky you have Rooney. Others have Suarez-Dzeko-RVP, so scored poorly. If your strikers don't fire, you're very vulnerable to getting a low score because of a cheap defence. Look at the teams that got clean sheets this week - Man Utd, City, Stoke, Arsenal, Spurs & WBA, not many cheap defenders there.

      1 week you'll get 100pts, another you'll get 30.

It was Ruiz vs Adebayor for me this week and I went with the fixture.

I have 1.6m free and one free transfer, but will probablay use 2. What would you do this week?

    Hilario - Vorm
Baines - Jose Enrique - Brown - Senderos - Simpson
    Silva - O'Hara - Sinclair - Brunt - Ferguson
Rooney - Dzeko - Van Persie

Short term, I'd get rid of Hilario & Sinclair. There are so many better options at £6M - Anderson, Cabaye, Brunt, Jarvis etc.

Looks like a stantard team for this site, which usually means you won't do that great. May i suggest a bit of inbalance, maybe have 2 united strikers, and two newcastle defenders etc...

Agree with going against the generic WC teams here but disagree on inbalance. I play 442 with 2 big ST, 2 or 3 big MD, 2 big DF and a solid GK.

Example: I have Given; Lescott & Cashley; Walcott & Silva (Anderson as well); Rooney & Suarez. Fairly unchanged since GW1. I've done fine so far...

Brunt will be on pens too. Though, with that many missed so far, I'm not sure whether it's a blessing or curse. Absolutely bricked it as Baines was stepping up, yesterday.

Ain't gunna happen, bruv. The initial deflection - outside the area - on the shot itself will give them the perfect excuse not to give the assist.

But I'm also going to email them. 😉

    Hilario and Ferguson must go.

If you want Vorm @4.1, only Surman @4.4, (does play sometimes), can replace Ferguson. Otherwise it's Ruddy @4(back from suspension next week) and a choice of 4.5 starters.
