A game for the (fantasy) football die-hards tonight, as Norwich City play host to Sunderland in the Gameweek six finale. Whilst Gary Neville has been fiddling with his gadgets for the best part of an hour, the Dugout Discussion has just opened for the late shift, and if you’ve just tuned in the team news from Carrow Road is as follows…

Norwich XI: Ruddy, Naughton, Russell Martin, Barnett, Tierney, Bennett, Bradley Johnson, Fox, Pilkington, Hoolahan, Morison.

Sunderland XI: Mignolet, O’Shea, Brown, Bramble, Richardson, Elmohamady, Larsson, Gardner, Vaughan, Bendtner, Sessegnon.

Both Paul Lambert and Steve Bruce have the rare luxury of naming an unchanged eleven. That means Wes Hoolahan continues in an advanced position, whilst Grant Holt sits on the pine for the Canaries. Big summer signings John O’Shea, Wes Brown and Niklas Bendtner all start for the Black Cats.

Take a pew in the Dugout Discussion, and let’s hope for an entertaining edition of Monday Night Football.

Late for your post last page Demi, Sorry, feeding family. My team much improved last three weeks just inside 250,000, about 1.3mil after GW3. How about yours?

No worries ILF. My team has been on a downward spiral, since the highs of 77k after GW 3. I'm now just around 280k so not too far behind you.

Captain choices failing the last 2 weeks. Got a lot of problems with my midfield, so i think a wildcard next week will sort that.

just got back from holiday n before that had 2 weekends away at weddings so let this slip a little, need to get my team sorted as its a right mess!!

first bet for a few weeks was this weekend £20 on a 5-fold and huddersfield conceded 2 in last 5mins to cost me 250!!

just got back from gran canaria, ended up watching the old firm in their hooters with a lad i met from stirling who supports rangers!

Nice one mate, my team is a riot as well, so I can definetly relate.

That's unlucky, I am just betting singles doubles and trebles this year and uping the steak, my accys get beat too many times in the last ten mins.

The old firm was one of the best i've seen for years, it had pretty much everything, I think your bet is looking pretty good, i know its still early days but I can just see going to strength to strength in the league.

yeh was a cracking day, he was a good lad, dont think the girls went too much on hooters tho but we enjoyed it!

my concern with rangers is possibility of administration, im assuming thats the reason celtic are still slight favourites with the bookies?

haha, I went to hooters in America it was amazing, but not really a female friendly place.

That is the reason why Celtic are favourites, its a cloud over the club and no-one really knows what's going on and what would happen if the court hearing goes against us.

Scottish football would lose so much money, i dont the sky/espn would inject money into the league if there was no old firm. It would hit celtic just as hard I think

Celtic may lose cash, temporarily, or even long term. But no price would be too large.

The good gers will coalesce around another team or two, and will be richer for it in the long run. The Manchester destroying hoards will receive an appropriate comeuppance.

                    Win-win-win.

    Repost for new page
    My team now:

    Krul Vorm
Bos Saylor Traore (Red card) Richards Brown
    Obertan Anderson Young Moses Silva
    Rooney (Injured) Dzeko Adebayor

1.1m in the bank, 1 free transfer

Do I keep Traore and Rooney? Replace both, or only one of them? But my midfield is worrying too. not getting much points, only Silva is consistent… What should I do?

for what its worth I would wait for news re Rooney. If he's out you can bring in RVP or Aguero.
Traore is a lower priority imo as your other 4 def are decent.

      Do you still have WC?

        Yes stil have WC.
About Traore being lower priority, I think so too. But what about Dzeko? With Rooney gone I'll have to rely on him for points. You think he'll play next week? I'm afraid of another 1 point week and the threat of Man City rotation :/

That fact you still have WC means you can wait on Rooney news. If he is out you can make a one week play and bring him back in on WC over international break. Deal with Traore during WC also.
Dzeko seems to start all the big PL games for Man City, so I would not stress to much on him just yet.
However, if Rooney is confirmed in, you could use your free on Dzeko if you are concerned. Personally I would use your transfer on the midfield (lose Obertan) if Rooney is good to go this week.

My first ever rate my team. Been an average season so far but I know it has for many, really considering taking a hit this week on transfers getting nani and another forward in. What do you think

    Vorm Given
    Simpson Gabidon Boswinga Kompany Brown
    Mata Silva Brunt Dyer Hoolahan
    Suarez Adebayor Rooney

Should I just wildcard it and downgrade keeper, defender and cheap midfielders to fee up mare funds for the midfield

    I'd appreciate any help guys

save your wc for next week (international break again) if possible. if so then maybe rooney > aguero or rvp and upgrade someone to nani if possible and then you have unlimited transfers next week to pick wahtever team you want and you don't have to worry about using a transfer to get rooney back in

First RMT always deserves some discussion:

Do not WC until at least next week (international break). Mids look like it may need some work (Brunt and Hoolahan).
I presume you only have 1 free transfer this week? If rooney out you could shift him out to free up cash to bring in Nani for a mid, or bring in Aguero for not hit.

Hope this helps your thought process, cheers

Yeah I hope so. I don't mean to sound bad, but Rooney's injury has helped me a lot. It shows how crap the casual players are. It also shows that it's vital to have a consistent team throughout and not go kneejerking to chase points. I'm hoping for more of the same next week, especially with my two freebies 😀

    Given/Ruddy
    Kompany/Jag/Nolan/DeLaet/Simpson
    Nani/Silva/SWP/Tiote/JArvis
    Rooney/Dzeko/Long
    To
    Given/Ruddy
    Kompany/STaylor/AFerdinand/DeLaet/Simpson
    Nani/Silva/SWP/Tiote/Petrov
    RVP/Aguero/Agbo
Will have money to get Rooney back the following week for RVP
    Worth a WC?

interested to hear people's thought on whether to have 2 or 3 big midifelders, daniel posted something similar last night but missed the replies...

basically i'm on a wildcard and have silva and nani, if I want to add another big hitter i.e. mata or vdv will have to unbalance squad and downgrade bosingwa/kompany and go for cheapie defence, is it worth it?

anyone going down the ultra cheap defence route?

Two's more than enough. I wouldn't get three, as i'd be lacking something upfront(where the more reliable point scorers are this season), let alone in defence.

Bayern have started really well, and have only conceded one goal so far this season, and have won 9 out of 9 since losing on the opening day, only one english club have ever won away to bayern and that was Norwich in '93. I think city would be extremely happy with a point.

    Vorm

    Silva Mata Nani SWP
    Suarez Aguero Adebayor
Krul - Dyer, Simpson, De Laet
I know, trippling up on NEWC is atrocious, but R.Taylor is gone for Warnock/Hutton as soon as he stops rising/playing. Also plan on downgrading SWP > HBA/Moses once his tough fixtures kick-in so I can get ShawX for De Laet to have STO/AVL rotation.

All those bringing in Nani - arent you concerned about rotation by Fergie this weekend? Norwich at home should be easy enough, and Valencia & Park are waiting for some more first team action. Fergie also said in an interview yesterday that he's going to start using his squad more, although he could have been talking more about the Basel game.

Me.. But not about who is better than who, but it's a game with Norwich.

I just believe Man Utd will have plenty of chances to score from every direction, not just cut in from Nani. Also, whoever will start in front for a place of Rooney should be likely to convert his pass/free-kick to assist.. : )

Nani should feature on Saturday. But .. for the worse case, what will it be if you got him and he is rested but A.Young starts ?

It doesn't worth a transfer.. IMO.

Got 2 freebies and going to do Baines->Brown,Sess->Nani with them. Then wildcard next week to turn this team:

      Given / Ruddy,
Bosingwa / Brown / Lescott / Simpson / De Laet,
      Silva / Nani / Sinclair / Moses / Surman,
      Suárez / Rooney / Dzeko.

      into this...

      SCHWARZER / VORM,
      Bosingwa / NAYLOR / KOMPANY / Simpson / GABBIDON,
      Silva / Nani / JOHNSON / DYER /DERRY,
      Suárez / Rooney / AGÜERO.

Thoughts? This is leaving me with 0.1 in the bank atm so there might be a few compromises when we get to it but what do you think? Also,is Arteta+SWP better than Nani+Dyer since that way I get Arsenal cover as well?Or maybe VdV in place of Nani to get Tottenham cover, especially since I don't have Ade?Any thoughts will be much appreciated.Thanks.

Yeah dude,I just want to get all the players who are performing well and are going to rise in value, like Kompany,Vorm,Dyer,Agüero, etc. Also, there's a chance to make some money during the intl. break. 😉 And yes,Nani will be essential this week but should I keep him for the rest of the season even though I have Roo,while ignoring the Tottenham and Arsenal midfielders?

Rest of the season is a long shout actually....man utd cant score 3-4 goals every week..at some point of time u would need arsenal and spurs cover too depending upon their fixtures..next to next week spurs and very soon liverpool players would come essential 🙂

@Fratboy my powers of Hindsight are telling me I should have gone for Dyer instead...

He will out score dyer no doubt over the season IMO

Dyer has had a good start that is all

Eventually but he isn't going to get the same sort of points as N'Zogbia when he was there.

I was the only Hindsight I was aware of, been off the site for the last month due to Beer festival season...

Been Captain Hindsight since start of August - you?

Depends what you mean by come good. Score loads of points? Doubt it. Will probably average at around 3.5 points per game for the rest of the season IMO
