Wayne Rooney and Javier Hernandez have both been passed fit to play in tomorrow’s home game with Norwich City.

Sir Alex Ferguson’s press conference has passed and the resultant news is massive for Fantasy managers, with Rooney surely an overwhelming favourite for the armband as United look to get back to winning ways before the two week international break.

“Wayne and Hernandez are fit for tomorrow. They trained very well yesterday, which is pleasing.”

His recovery from a hamstring strain has been swift, then, missing out on just two games- last week’s game at Stoke and the midweek Champions League clash with Basel- with United failing to win either match.

Rooney sits on 43.6% Fantasy ownership but has been sold in the tens of thousands this week, with many assuming Fergie wouldn’t risk him with tough games against Liverpool and Man City just around the corner.

Those who have sold on will be ruing the decision; Rooney has scored in every game this season, racking up 59 points in just five league games and with the game kicking off at 3pm tomorrow, it’ll be a long and uncomfortable Saturday afternoon for those Fantasy managers without his services.

Those who sat tight will no doubt be smiling in anticipation of a possibly substantial points haul already.

Paul Is certain he won't make the same mistakes next season. Follow them on Twitter

    Morning All,

    Questions , questions...

    A - Keep Osman
B - Osman out for Larsson
C - Osman out for Walters
    D - Osman out for Murphy (?)
E - Osman out for Ramsey

Any other ideas ?? Just the one transfer available

I detect a mild hint of sarcasm there! To be fair to Kaxon boy only Petrov has got more points for same price mid. Think I might hold Osman, can see a derby goalfest and he is usually not far off the action...

In relation to your question I just don't know I'm afraid, they're all players who I never really consider getting but often score points. Osman's fixtures aren't brilliant, maybe Ramsey out of the bunch? I would probably hold the transfer because it's nice to have two available over the international break and it gives you options like downgrading Osman to someone like Ben Arfa and upping someone else with the change.

I'm not going to rub it in for those who got rid of Rooney as it was quite understandable to do so. I was lucky enough to have had him from the start, so could afford to watch a 0.1 drop without any effect on his sale value. Saying that, I hope he bags a hattrick of hattricks against Norwich 😀

This Rooney news is great but it leaves me rather stumped on what to do with my team this week. Any ideas? I have 2 freebies and nothing in the bank.

    Team at the moment is:

    Given
    Bosingwa Kompany Simpson
    Sinclair SWP Silva Sessegnon
    Suarez RVP Rooney
subs: Vorm, Gabbidon, Moses, De Laet

Was planning on doing Rooney/Adebayor to Adebayor/Nani but that is not necessary now. Rooney should be plenty of United coverage.

Not sure about Bannan but on pens seemingly and good fixtures so who knows. His past scoring record in his career has been really bad though but he does seem to be at a point where he's upping his game.

Yep, i'm desperate to get rid of Sessegnon! I think saving my extra free transfer for after the international break is probably wise. I'll have to have a little play around on the transfer page and see what's possible

For everyone making fun of the knee jerkers, most people probably removed rooney to fit in aguero or rvp, both of whom have as good a chance of scoring as rooney this weekend. And both of whom have better fixtures in the next 3-4 weeks.

If I had rooney in my team, I might have moved him out soon anyway. To be fair, not having him in my team from the start of the season was a mistake though.

Also my 2 cents on Rooney. He'll start. He will play for an hour if United are leading comfortably. And if they are he's probably been involved in the goals somehow so his substitution won't matter a jolt.

I'll be captaining Nani. Or maybe Aguero.

    I bet Rooney doesn't start.

Calling all fantasy rugger buggers; would you transfer out Genia for Wilkinson/ Parra?

Only got 7 transfers left. Genia starting on the bench against a poor Russia side. O'conner is my kicker in any case.

No reasons that I can think of for Fergie to declare Rooney fully fit and then bench him.

Was thinking of doing Mata to Nani for a 4 point hit this weekend before the Rooney news. Anyone have any thoughts on that move?

Best midfielder for 7.3? I've got Silva, Arteta, Bannan and Dyer. Taarabt is the one I'm getting rid of.

Is it worth a 4 point hit for Reina and Sess out for Ruddy and Nani in ?? Vorm is my other keeper and already have Rooney and Young ? Thoughts appreciated

Excellent news about Rooney. Have to say it feels like I really dodged a bullet there as was so close to getting him out for Aguero earlier in the week (to get the price rise), forunately after the City game on tuesday I went for Dzeko instead.

Got a good feeling about this weekend now, and no need to fret over captain choice!

Hmm, In an ideal world yeah, sadly some of us have to take a gamble every now and then to be able to afford the moves we want to make.
