Last night’s international round-up was typically fraught with panic for Fantasy managers. Most Premier League players survived relatively unscathed, though the prognosis on the odd one or two is still awaited. A few more days till Tuesday’s matches then we can start planning again…

France coach Laurent Blanc is sweating over the availability of Yohan Cabaye and Patrice Evra. At a post-match press conference last night, Blanc confirmed the pair have suffered ankle and thigh injuries respectively but admitted he’s uncertain as to whether they’ll be fit for Tuesday’s game with Bosnia:

It is too soon to tell. We will assess the situation tomorrow and we will likely decide on Sunday if they can play.

While Newcastle and Man United anxiously await the prognosis for both, reports suggest Cabaye is positive over the knock. French football writer Matt Spiro tweeted after the 3-0 win over Albania:

Had a chat with Cabaye after France game. Doesn’t seem to worry about ankle injury. Can’t stop saying positive things about Newcastle!

Ashley Young also gave Man United cause for concern last night. Having scored then assisted England’s two goals in Moldova, the winger was withdrawn just after an hour and subsequently held an ice pack to his knee.

Switzerland’s game with Wales saw Philippe Senderos tweak a muscle in the warm-up. The centre half has been out of favour at Fulham over the last few weeks, though, and has failed to see any game time since Gameweek four, despite Aaron Hughes’ knock.

Michael Dawson has suffered a setback in his recovery from an Achilles injury. The centre half hasn’t featured for Spurs since Gameweek three, though luckily for Harry Redknapp, Ledley King has been able to defy his own knee problems and fill in alongside Younes Kaboul for four games on the spin now. Redknapp had hoped Dawson would be back earlier than the initial two month prognosis, but the centre half revealed he’s had to slow down his rehabilitation:

I was outside running earlier in the week but the Achilles was still a little sore, so I’ve had to take a step back and concentrate on working in the gym.

Spurs received more bad news on the injury front yesterday. Tom Huddlestone has undergone surgery on his recurring ankle problem and is expected to be sidelined for at least six weeks. The midfielder hasn’t featured since last August, though the recent acquisition of Scott Parker has more than lessened the blow.

Reports suggest Nemanja Vidic is on course to fit for Man United’s match with Liverpool a week today. The Serbian has been sidelined since the opening day of the season with a calf injury but has been given permission to join up with his international squad this week. If he starts and subsequently comes through Tuesday’s game with Slovenia, Vidic looks likely to play some part in next weekend’s showdown.

Liverpool’s Glen Johnson has also penciled in the Anfield match as his comeback game. The right-back aggravated his hamstring in last month’s away loss at Stoke but speaking to liverpoolfc.tv yesterday, feels confident of being available:

I’m feeling good at the moment and I’ve been doing plenty of running. I’ve just started doing ball work outside in training so I reckon it won’t be too long now. I’m working hard and it would be nice to be back in the squad for the Man United game. Hopefully I can make the bench anyway, so fingers crossed.

Leon Osman has been talking of his new role at Everton in light of Mikel Arteta’s departure to Arsenal. In an interview with the club’s official website, he was asked if he’d taken on more responsibility since the Spaniard’s departure and Osman replied:

Most probably, yes. I have found myself playing a bit more centrally, which has been good for me and hopefully I can continue to do so. The more I can get on the ball, the better. I am sure any footballer will tell you they want to be on the ball and I like to get on it and make things happen.

Injury-jinxed Kieron Dyer faces further time on the sidelines at QPR. The midfielder lasted just six minutes of the season opener before limping out with a foot injury but has suffered a serious setback and is unlikely to be available for selection before Christmas.

Paul Is certain he won't make the same mistakes next season. Follow them on Twitter

I could see Fergie giving Rooney a break to sort his head out. He has enough firepower elsewhere to deal with Liverpool. Better a rest than playing with ten for the second half.

Hmm, i don't know about that. A week is a long time in football, and Fergie will be doing everything he can to make sure Rooney is in the right mindset to play Liverpool, rather than thinking about giving him a break to clear his head. Truthfully, United are a different team with and without Rooney. I can't see us having enough to beat Liverpool without him. Fergie talked earlier in the season about Rooney's maturity for United, and being one of the older guys in the dressing room, so he won't be thinking whether Rooney will get another card or not, as he'll trust Rooney to put it in the past and play at his best against Liverpool imo

to be fair to rooney he's looked a different character in the last year or so, it looked like he had got over the petulence and that Fergie had knocked it out of him but then he resorted to type last night. Its a bit of a shame really as he's great when he just concentrates on what he's good at.

Looking at both of them they seem to be pretty evenly matched as far as their squads are concerned but for me the main difference is in defence. Thats where I think over the season Chelsea might just edge it. With Rio out and not 100% United will have problems. Before they had O'shea & Brown who could come in and cover pretty much ok but those options are gone.

i think he'll have a good season this year. AVB has already made him realse that he'll have to work for his place or he'll be dropped, he hasn't really had this before being that he was always an established piece of the furniture at Chelsea. I think it was needed to be honest. A kick up the arse at work usually does the trick

Of all Fulham's defence if keeping one it would be Riise for me, for his attacking points potential.

Haven’t asked for any suggestions for a while, you here we go…

    Given, Ruddy
    Kompany, Bosingwa, Brown, Simpson, Wilkinson
    Mata, Silva, Arteta, Moses, Dyer
    Adebayor, Rooney, Dzeko

0.9 in the bank. 2 free transfers. What do you reckon?

Your goalies rotate well to the end of November, but December looks to be a rough month for both, unless you just want save points and hope they stop a penalty or two. Since the rest looks about right you may like to move one out ready?

A bit harsh with the hating of this guys team. I noticed he has played the WC and also had 3 transfers and running thru his game weeks he has transfered and selected his team well, very nostradamus like hahahaha.

If I said to you, if you give up ur WC to be on 511pts would you do it. Like Jack said, you cant argue this team as he has had a knack to make the right choices. His current team maybe shat in everyone's opinion but no ones knows his strategy, he may know something we dont know or he could be trading these TOT guys out after there good FIXs or even thought since he got a great start he might get an edge on the other top teams by stacking some TOT and maybe some more EVE players for the DGW approaching.

I hate how people instantly assume someone is going well because they are new or the got lucky by choosing unlikely players.

Lots of weird aggression today ...

But it's worth pointing out that this team isn't the #1 team. The player is. Splitting hairs a bit, I suppose, but that particular team didn't get him to #1 - so criticism of it isn't 'pretty dumb'.

No one was disputing his rank.

That team is sh!te though, and your demand that all must agree with it is strange. He scored 48 points with that team - I beat him this past week (and my team is admittedly sh!te, as well).

So, #1 or whatever, that team = fail.

Haha I know you read, that bit was explaining my so-called 'aggression'
I agree the team is shite, and I haven't demanded anybody to agree with it haha.
I wouldn't call any team that is beating 2 and a half million others failing, it may not look good to us on here, but who is to say Bale and Modric don't go well over their coming fixtures..
As much as I think the team looks like shit, it is hard to argue with it as it is significantly beating all of us on here.

Got a bet I really like in Lisburn vs. Glentoran

I think Glentoran -1 @ 23/10 is great value, if you are more cautious they are a great price @ 4/5 and for the brave of you out there you can have 6/1 on them -2 and I wouldn't be surprised in the slightest if they covered the 2 goals.

I reckon its a good move. I'm contemplating the same at the moment. Ramsey should be a decent option at least until Wilshire comes back from injury. Another option I'm considering is Fulhams Danny Murphy.

I will be waiting till Sat to make the transfer so I have plenty of time to mull it over.

Wow! I've just noticed something. The 3rd team overall with 509 points so far is actually managed by a professional footballer. Spurs' youngster Tom Carroll. He's even in 'Spurs Reserve League 11/12' with fellow Spurs youngsters Ryan Mason, David Button and Jesse Waller Lassen.

The funny thing is that Tom Carroll himself is actually available in the game at 5m and he doesn't have himself in his own team. 🙂

Has anyone else spotted any other genuine FPL teams of professional players before?

Whether to get rid of Dzeko at all is a dilemma, let alone deciding who the hell to replace him with.

Won't touch VDV with a barge pole this year, although the BP suits him more.

Leaning towards Ade at the moment.
