With clean sheets proving hard to come by for many teams, Goal Threat from the back is an ever-crucial facet when eyeing up Fantasy defensive options.

In this latest article for Members, we focus on defenders who have played four or more league games this season, selecting the top ten performers and, when applicable, compare their stats to last term’s in order to ascertain whether there’s been an improvement or a drop in their offensive threat…

SWP to Ramsey or Adebayor to Sturridge?

    Have RvP already...

    Vorm (Given)
    Simpson Boswingwa Kompany (Brown) (Senderos)
    Silva Moses Nani SWP (Dyer)
    RvP Suarez Adebayor

SWP playing awful Blackburn at home - keep him for that!
Ade is 50/50 - dont push panic button yet.... he even playing through the injury last time and has had 2 full weeks to recouperate.....

      Wait for more Ade news...

But if you have to.... I would suggest Zamora instead.... his points per game is one of the best and seems to be fit again...

Wait till you hear more today... Ade wont drop between now and tomorrow morning...

Dyer aint a bad first sub either.....

And chances are you would want to get Ade back in again anyway....

My advice, hold off for now (but what do i know!?)

He's in my team after a gamble last GW, and I'm keeping him. I think he will play since he hasn't played much internationals, but you can never be sure.

    Morning Chaps/Chapets!,

Thank god the Premiership is back, I really hate international weeks - especially watching England!

Your views on my potential transfers would be lovely!

    My team currently:

    Vorm, (Given)

    Bosingwa, Kompany, R.Taylor, (W.Brown, Ward)

    Mata(VC), Silva(C), Jarvis, Ramsey, (Dyer)

    Rooney, Agbonlahor, Suarez

I have made one transfer so far this week (Anderson > Ramsey) and still have one free...

Can you see any reason for changing any other parts of the team, I was thinking Rooney > RVP with fixtures coming up, but that leaves me short of United cover, which I've been stung before on....

I would say RvP but I understand your point on being short of United cover, I would say go RvP, but it could also be just as wise to save the transfer. Perhaps only think about bringing RvP in if you captain him?

Right my team has slight problems. Have Aguero, Adebayor, Brunt and De Laet all of who mightn't play and 0 in the bank.
I was going to get Suarez next week anyway so wondering should I just swap Aguero -> Suarez this week or/and swap Brunt to Petrov/Ramsey.

    What do ye think?

It's a tough one, 4 players doubtful is never a good position to be in, I assume you have one transfer.... Look to plan the transfers over the next 3/4 weeks.... Suarez after this game week has a nice run of fixtures....

Hold fire on Ade and Aguero until the last min, see if there are any reports (Like Rooney in previous GW)

De laet, has he played recently? If not ship out before you lose money on him!!

Brunt, I haven't seen much of him so coudnt comment.

Nasri, comes on and does wonders.
Silva, steadily churning out the points.

Call me boring, but I'd rather have Silva. I am quietly confident that he will outscore Nasri this season unless Mancini really shakes things up in the team.

Some of my friends won't play this game as they feel it's somehow cheating on the team you support to feel good when someone in your FPL team scores against them, a few of these guys are gobsmacked that people I've persuaded to play FPL who had previously little interest in football can now name the entire Wolves team, the entire WBA team etc.

Well, I don't know what Hodgson thinks... 🙂 McAuley seems to have done well so he might be worth a punt. I think WBA could keep a cleansheet this weekend but the following 3 games don't look good for them.

If he loses his place you can always sell him again.

So many times people say not to get someone (I went Rooney > Sturridge after the Stoke game, posted on here and some called me crazy) and they come out and kill it after you dont get them and you are stuck wondering 'what if?'

Would it be studpid to stick with Sessegnon? I just read a lot of praise from the team coach, and they were even considering changing the formation just to suit him!
I've got two free transfers this week, but don't know who to buy/sell! Any suggestions? Team is in the link...

Sessengnon has undoubted potential and showed glimpses last year with some good hauls but under Bruce i just don't think we'll see the best of him or Sunderland for that matter.

my team after the wildcard (bad idea after all):

    Given-Vorm
    Enrique-Shawcross-Kompany-Simpson-Taylor(Swansea)
    Silva-Cabaye-Moses-Ramsey-Murphy
    Rooney-Suarez-RVP(C)

    A. Suarez or Sturidge ???
    B. should i switch suarez for sturridge or aaron hughes for kompany in order to get petrov/taraabt in the place od moses ??

Hating on this Adebayor situation right now. Redknapp says he's doubtful, but then went on to big up how well Defoe's been playing and that VDV is class in his preferred position (just off the striker). Leaves me to think that he might go Defoe and VDV up top .. anyone else feel the same?! And btw I have Adebayor!

Yep, looks like it's definitely going to be VdV and Defoe this weekend. I'm a Spurs fan btw and fans on the message boards seem resigned to us playing without Adebayor this weekend. Hopefully he'll be back for the next game though.

Logically (if that comes in to it at all...) then Nani will be the next to be rested, bearing in mind Young was rested last time out. Nani played both games for Portugal, while Young only played 60 mins. Those are the facts but I doubt whether either will be rested for tomorrow.

I think that's what a lot of us are thinking right now. Get rid of him and he gets a hat trick vs. a dodgy Pool defence. Keep him and gets a yellow card and 1 point. Tough call...

    Vorm

    Silva(c) Mata Nani Dyer Moses
    Suarez
    Ruddy Aguero Adebayor Brown

gonna start both of em for sure.. but incase they dont start that’ll be my team

It's pretty simple to me just wait until the draw - if England get a hard group then don't take Rooney. We'll need every option we have. If England get a piss easy group then take Rooney, he's going to be a nice asset for the latter stages.

If we get an average group I'd still take him.

I dont know, with players like Bent Sturridge & Welbeck vrying for a place on the plane I think it would be harsh to leave one of them out (providing the the latter two dont dip in form). If they do take Bent Sturridge & Rooney and the former score 3 goals apeice in the group stages, would you drop one for Rooney? or Bench him? I think there are too many risks.

I would assume England would be seeded along with Spain Holland & Germany, there is not going to be an easy group in the Euros imo. I think every team who have qualified will give England a good game.
