[sbu_large_image] Key Battle

This weekend’s key encounters highlight Nani’s quest to rid himself of the Anfield ghosts following last season’s gory cameo in the 3-1 setback. Elsewhere, Theo Walcott’s free-running will surely give Steve Bruce food for thought, while Neil Warnock will be hoping Adel Taarabt can help QPR drive a bus through the Blackburn back four.

Nani vs Jose Enrique

Two players in strong form for their respective sides will likely face off in a key head to head at Anfield. While all the talk will be of Wayne Rooney going into Saturday’s early kick-off, Nani is the man in form for Alex Ferguson’s side and he, along with City’s David Silva, has emerged as the consistent Fantasy midfield performer.

In Jose Enrique, Kenny Dalglish has a bull of a left-back fully equipped to deal with Nani’s pace and direct running – whether he will be disciplined enough to curb his own attacking instincts to do so is another matter. Nani will go all out to make an impact following the events of last season’s fixture and his battle with the Spaniard is surely set to be a highlight and a key confrontation.

Theo Walcott vs Kieran Richardson

The Arsenal flyer is a potentially tricky customer or any full-back, although consistency from Walcott is always a concern and frustration for Arsene Wenger. On Sunday however, Wenger will once again be looking to Walcott to terrorise his full-back, particularly when that player is likely to be Kieran Richardson.

Although a competent stand-in at left-back, Wenger will surely look to Walcott to get at him and undo a likely rearguard action from Steve Bruce’s team. With Nicklas Bendtner unavailable to Bruce, we’re expecting to see a 4-5-1 – despite talk of Sunderland “getting at” Arsenal from the off. That will likely mean very little space for Arsenal’s midfield, making the width offered by Walcott, Gervinho and perhaps Andrei Arshavin, all the more critical. Our money is on Walcott being a significant figure for the Gunners and a major worry for Bruce.

Adel Taarabt vs Michel Salgado

Neither of these players are certain to take the pitch on Sunday – while Taarabt is embroiled in an off-field dispute following his bus stop capers during the Craven Cottage massacre, Salgado is struggling for fitness and may miss out at Loftus Road.

If the Rovers man is fit and these two do come up in opposition on the flank, there’s every chance that this could be a worrying area for Steve Kean and his Blackburn side. Taarabt has been employed on the left by Neil Warnock in recent matches and he will surely fancy the Moroccan’s trickery to cause all kinds of problems for the ageing Rovers full-back. Salgado is known to like a challenge, while Taarabt is expert at drawing the tackle and will surely be looking to find the penalty box before doing so. Expect teasing, taunting, an early bone-shaker from Salgado, followed by a good few penalty shouts from the Rangers faithful.

Mark Mark created the beast. He's now looking to tame it.

+1 He's dropped .2 this week, too many knee jerkers this season, I really hope Taarabt scores well this week just to prove that patience is key.

                +1 back

People must have either very good teams , or being a little silly to take out now ...next week yes I agree, but if you get someone in for a run of fixtures then stick with it tell those good fixtures end .

I genuinely think the logarithm for price drops (in particular) is different to last season... rather than the kneejerkers. It's just the causal effect of those KJing is enhanced as a result, and speeding up drops. Just my opinion.

If I had Enrique I'd play him. He's at home. Liverpool more often than not score and win against Man Utd at home. There's a slim chance of a cleanie, but quite a good chance of an assist.

Ehhhh, at Anfield, its 38-22-18 to Liverpool, with Liverpool winning the last 3 at Anfield. Pool have only kept one cleanie there in the last five years, so an assist might be your best hope for points.

Don't you hate it when you post spomething and after the post the previous post was

    "NEW POST" 🙁

Here we go again - Aguero is yellow flagged and has already dropped this GW. he went over -100% on fiso last night but didnt drop. hes currently at -184% I remember reading if he hits -250% he well drop because of the yellow flag is this the case? Also if he changes to a red flag will this changed the % on which the player drops?

Help on this would be appreciated or are we all on the same boat and clueless.

Its his second price fall and he is yellow flagged. Also he is above his initial price. All that considered he needs 175% for second fall. Well its not the law, but I think that is probable. I am stating my opinion.

            Cheers,

I agree with all 3 things you say. He has had some wonderful passes to SWP but on the occasions I've seen him he doesnt work hard enough getting into the box after his intitial trickier in on-threatening positions. Doesnt really look a goal or asssit threat.

KOL same here, just wrote comment then NEW POST

    SO here is my dilemma

Got 2 free trades this week.

I am looking to shift out Aguero probably for Sturridge this week. This will give me 4.8 in the bank. I am gonna get rid of Moses (at last) so this gives me 9.6 in total. I want Silva but can only afford Nasri who may not start, or shall i go with A Johnson and hope he starts! or do i go Bale or someone like that. or sit on 2nd transfer and then i will have 2 next week!

    Any ideas? suggestions?

Sit imo. Moses has a great fixture. Most of the 9.5ish players will be affected by champs league goings on in the week - might have a better idea of how to use that 4.8 next weekend.

I wouldnt go for Bale Johnson or Nasri. I think Moses will score well this week just make the one transfer and if he does nothing then use your money next week to get shot of moses & De leat. Alternativley go for petrov this GW.

Not sure why people think Taarabt will be dropped.

Very unlikely to happen. I'd say 99% certainty he starts.

QPR also due a penalty as well. Hopefully the free kick NW scored for Morocco is a sign of good things to come.

I've been backing him up all week, it doesn't really matter though, he might still do nothing.

Guys a little help. If you had to choose one of the following for this week only?
    Sturridge, RVP, or Zamora?
    Thanks

RVP in any given week should have the edge over Sturridge, no? They both have decent fixtures, and RVP would always get my vote in that situation because he's 100% nailed on and he takes spot kicks and penalties.

I'm not saying Sturridge can't have a better game. He certainly can. Just that it's probably more of a risk--the odds are in RVP's favor.

Who is the best defender for 6 mil or less?

Strongly considering Kompany and Enrique, but I'm also looking for differentials (already have Jones, Warnock, Simpson and Brown). Considering Riise, but just seems a bit overpriced. Wish I could afford Lescott. Would consider Shawcross except it sounds like with Stoke's 7 matches in 20 days schedule that there could be some rotation.

    Any other possibilities?

Thing is with Taarabt is he's all or nothing, his play and trickery when on song is pure class, but even last year in the Championship there were games where it just didn't come together. That's the impression i've got this year in the PL, just doesn't cut it yet. QPR aren't scoring either!

Robbie Savage marked him out of a game at back end of last season (savages final game of his careeer). If Robbie Savage can do it then i reckon most mids in the prem can. Remind me how many goals/assists he has this season?

That two week International Break seemed to go on forever - great that the FPL is back.

Here's a repost that got lost late last night.

On a WC, so would appreciate your thoughts on this effort:

    Begovic Hennessy
Bosingwa Kompany Simpson N Taylor Boyata
    Silva Nani Ramsey Petrov Dyer
    Rooney Van Persie Sturridge

Playing it fairly safe with this I know, although I have some concerns about my keepers and Boyata. I wouldn’t be averse to a risky differential suggestion or two!

    Begovic
Jose Enrique / Bos / Richards
    Ramires / Silva (c) / Petrov / Nani
    Rooney / Suarez / Gabby

Bench: Vorm / Dyer / Taylor / Simpson

Not sure its the right line up! I fancy getting Dyer into my lineup but dont know where - maybe bench Gabby but in his form its a gamble?!

    Hi Everyone,

I'm from Canada so with the time difference have missed some news. Any word on Adebayor or shall I be safe and use my freebie and bring in another striker?
