Few of us Fantasy managers had seen it coming.

A trip to Anfield, with a home clash against Man City to follow, was surely the last place you’d expect Sir Alex Ferguson to bench his two most consistent attacking players.

This lunchtime, however, saw Wayne Rooney and Nani sit out the proceedings against old foes Liverpool until a Steven Gerrard free-kick had somewhat forced Fergie’s hand. In the end, the duo were afforded twenty-one minute cameos but failed to fire, returning a single Fantasy point apiece in the 1-1 draw.

At least Roberto Mancini gave us warning- the Man City boss had spoken of rest and rotation yesterday but, with Sergio Aguero’s groin injury ruling out the Argentine, not many had expected David Silva to be benched as City looked to leapfrog their rivals and climb to the top of the table.

With Adam Johnson running amok against Aston Villa, Samir Nasri and Edin Dzeko were both given the day off in the 4-1 win- Silva’s appearance, midway through the second half, mirrored that of Rooney and Nani, with just one Fantasy point to his name.

A look at our Captain’s poll sums up the frustrations of many – Silva and Rooney sit second and third, an indication of the collective faith ahead of this Gameweek’s fixtures.

Today’s results afford Robin Van Persie the platform to produce the goods in what has proved a frustrating, low-scoring Fantasy Gameweek so far. Arsenal’s home showdown with Sunderland tomorrow is set up nicely, then; Fantasy managers who awarded the captain’s armband to the Dutchman look set to reap reward if the Gunners can see off an out-of-sorts Black Cats.

Two goals in his last home game certainly looks promising- Van Persie, the number one choice in the Captain’s Poll, now has the potential to be a major Gameweek-changer and proved the catalyst for a significant swing in the Fantasy fortunes of many.

Paul Is certain he won't make the same mistakes next season. Follow them on Twitter

Nothing yet - but if the allegation's true then the FA have to take action to set an example - wouldn't be good for their 'kick racism out of football' campaign.

Norwich - H, WBA - A, Swansea - H. Potential captain and big hauls in 2 or 3 of those games.

The reaction to all this is what makes it such a powerful word, increasing the stigma around it just makes people want to use it more. They should just tell Suarez he's a c*nt and smack him about a bit, then get on with it. It is just a word.

Just the allegation, at this point.

Certainly nothing will happen. Even if proven, if the incident was only between the players, i.e. not like Rooney's to-camera outburst, there's little reason for the FA to act.

To devil's advocate, I'm sure players say many despicable things to each other. I'm not sure all of it should be 'actionable' ... it *is* despicable, though - if true.

Oh well. It wasn't the reason for the result. Evra's a big boy.

Look at that, with captain Van Persie left this might well be my best gameweek of the season this far. Please please please score. Not that I'm having a particular stormer or so, it's just that basically every other captain has failed.

You can look at this in another way. Chelsea scored 12 goals in last 3 games, Mata made 3 assists. One assist per each 4 goals. Is such an involvement worth 9.6? Chelsea are not going to score 4 per game, which means Mata will get you 2-3 points most of the time. Besides, he doesn't play full games, tends to be subbed off rather early, which decreases his chances of scoring and getting bonus points.

think klasnic had been sent off when petrov scored the penalty v norwich. suppose davies could still take them but i'd be amazed if he did after his last 2 efforts.

hi - yep, frustrating - we forgot to copy some files over when we updated the Next Six Ticker on Friday night. I'll get it sorted.

In the meantime, if Members log in to the main stie (this site) and use the Next Six Ticker, they get all the same functionality as the ticker in the Members Area. Just use the expand button in the top right of the Next Six Ticker to view the full Ticker. This is identical to the Ticker shown in the Members Area with all the same functionality.

I'll get the Members Area version sorted asap.

Seems to me he thinks one person has been racist, namely Luis "Mercury" Suarez. Not sure what being a "big boy" has to do with alleged racism anyway. Are you saying he should man up and ignore it?

Look at my above article. 'Evra has previously been involved in two other racism claims in English football (Chelsea ground staff and Steve Finnan) with both failing to stick.'

I dont try to defend Suarez, but if (if true) Evra should have told the referee about the incident straight away, and not wait for French TV to cry about it.

Surely as a "big boy" he shouldn't go running to the ref during the game? According to MOTD, the referee has reported the allegations to the FA, so something must have been said during or pretty soon after the game.

Not saying this case happened or didn't -I don't know, clearly- but didn't Evra previously falsely accuse a Chelsea groundskeeper of being racist and then get banned/fined/something when they got in a scrap?

I may be remembering this wrong, so apologies if so.

That situation was a bit vague, as I remember it. I know Ev's got a slap, but I thought that was for the bust-up. I'm not aware of a determination that his accusation was 'false'

Of course, conspiratorial types would question how many melanonin-rich blokes were in on that investigation ... but that's a fruitless line of argument, I admit.

I can't see the benefit to Evra for making the accusation, if untrue. It's not like an Evra foul on Luiz led to a PK or something. Oh well. Funny thing to me is how little Adam has figured in the banter. Two blatant dives. Not the reason for the result, but marred an otherwise fine display by 'Pool - and that pains me to say.

According to Alan Hansen, Ferdinand has admitted making contact with Adam.

Ferdinand should have been sent off. SAF came up with his usual one-eyed bullshit in interview.

Did you see it? He might have made contact, but Adam made a meal of it. He was *touched*

And by no means should Rio have been sent off for that. Really.

I refuse to say that Adam's two despicable dives were the reason for the result - I just want to point them out, as they were some of the very few low points for 'Pool. I think they played very, very well today.

Had Nani made those two dives, though - leading to a goal - and the discussion here would be much different. Truth.

Rio should have been sent off if the ref sees it as a foul.

Ferdinand said something along the lines of (I'm spitballing): "I got the slightest of touches on him but not enough to bring down a 13 stone man the way he went down"

Which, in fairness, is true - it does look like Ferdinand got an ever so slight stroke on him (and I can't see how the ref can't card him if he has awarded it) but Adam turned into a sack of spuds when he could have very easily carried on regardless.

The Downing dive was the worst (and funniest); camera angle 1 looked like a foul - then the view from behind and he was about 5 yards away from the challenge. It was brilliant in it's lunacy.
