Our pre-Friday dinnertime regular looks at three of the crucial tussles ahead in gameweek ten. Gervinho will be looking to maintain his recent impressive showings as he’s pitted against Jose Bosingwa, Aaron Lennon’s pace could be the undoing of QPR’s problematic left-back slot, while an injury to Dedryk Boyata could allow Gretar Steinsson to prove his worth to Bolton in a Liberty Stadium encounter with Scott Sinclair…

Gervinho vs Jose Bosingwa

The Arsenal winger is starting to look like the rampaging force of nature that helped Lille to the Ligue 1 crown last season. Gervinho has endured a tentative start to his Gunners career, hardly helped by his dismissal in the season opener at Newcastle, but the last couple of gameweeks have seen him explode into form with an average of 10 points per game in the last two fixtures. With form and confidence his allies, he’ll fancy his chances at the Bridge tomorrow lunchtime.

Caught out by the pace of Shaun Wright-Phillips at Loftus Road last weekend, Jose Bosingwa’s dismissal proved significant in Chelsea’s 1-0 defeat. Having served his one-match ban in the midweek Carling Cup tie at Everton, the Portuguese right-back returns to the first-team fold against the Gunners and while his attacking forays down the flank have impressed, a lack of defensive awareness leaves him liable to counter-attacks. Gervinho will be looking to expose his frailties at the back and he’ll have a task on his hands against the speedy Ivorian.

Aaron Lennon vs Clint Hill

A return to action at Ewood Park ended a five-game league absence for Aaron Lennon. Hampered by a groin injury for much of the campaign, his inclusion in the Spurs first-team affords the side a natural width down the right flank that had been missing over the previous few weeks. His explosive pace and direct running, backed by the adventure of Kyle Walker from right-back, adds an extra element to Tottenham’s play.

Hill was recalled from his loan spell at Nottingham Forest last weekend with Armand Traore missing out due to a strained abductor muscle. While Traore’s pace will be ideal in coping with Lennon, doubts still hang over his fitness and Hill could be called into action once again. Two red cards for Chelsea last week meant he was never truly tested but at White Hart Lane, against a red-hot Tottenham, he may well be wishing he was still back at the City Ground.

Scott Sinclair vs Gretar Steinsson

Spot-kicks aside, the Swansea flier has proved pivotal to his side’s dominant home displays, offering plenty of attacking verve and invention from wide left. Sinclair’s showings in his first full Premier League season have underlined his ability to perform on a higher stage and Brendan Rodgers will be reliant on him to torment an out-of-sorts Trotters as the Welsh side look to make it three home wins in a row.

Steinsson has been far from impressive in the eyes of Owen Coyle this season. The Icelandic international had fallen out of favour to such an extent that the Bolton boss had dropped him from his match squad completely, with on-loan Dedryk Boyata nailing down the right-back slot since arriving from Man City. Today’s confirmation of a six-week period on the sidelines for Boyata due to ankle ligament damage looks like giving Steinsson a second chance, though, and he’ll take to the field this weekend with plenty to prove.

Would love to bring Aguero in for RVP but just can't be certain he will start. Nasri is my only City cover and with Mancini's comments about 7/8 changes from the Carling Cup team I can't be sure he will start either... Opionions?

Feno, I hate having punted Nasri over Silva several weeks back, it's cost so many points and still Mancini refuses to rest Silva, whereas Nasri is clearly just one of the wide boys to be rotated endlessly with Milner and Johnson.

I really can't see Nasri not starting this GW but believe Silva will too, but surely Silva has more chance of being subbed early with Villareal in mind.

Either way, Nas to Silva transfer has to happen, sooner or later.

How is it his history which speaks for itself, as I can only presume you mean Fantasy History?) Fantasy Football is biased to goals, and he has scored 7 goals in one year in the Prem.

People are talking about like he's a more of a points machine than a beautiful player to watch.

The " 7-8 changes from Carling Cup game likely" Man city comment does worry tbh...especially considering that they play in Spain (must win champs league game) on wed....i can see Mancini keeping the 3 lads who have had la liga experience out of what he must regard as an "easily" winnable home game vs Wolves. That means Silva, Yaya and Aguero...with Nasri, De Jong and Johnson playing from the start again...just a thought.

Agreed - Everton Played Man City very tough away and it took a deflected Balotelli Strike near the 70th Minute to go ahead. The 2nd goal was consolation goal in the 90th as Everton tried to fight back. Man U better score early and not concede first if they expect to get goals here.

Off topic but I'd appreciate your help. Down to last 200ish out of 9000 in Last Man Standing. Big guns gone. Who would you pick out of Norwich (vs Bla), Sunderland (vs Villa) or Swansea (vs Bolton) this week? First to five will do it.

Do you have Stoke left? They will beat Newcastle. Norwich are a good pick if you have Stoke used.

    Hey guys, my team:

    Given (Ruddy)
    Woodgate, Enrique, Kompany (Simpson) (Jagielka)
    Moses, VDV, Dyer, Silva (Jarvis)
    Ade, Suarez, RVP

Already made my transfer for this week (Luiz to Kompany), but wondering what to do next? Jarvis -> Ramsay next week then Suarez -> Bendtner to free up cash for mid? Or should I be trading in Given/Jagielka/Moses/Dyer first?

    Hey, folks.

What do you think the chances are of Balloteli getting a full 90 minutes and making an impact? I was considering freeing up some money by shipping out Saurez for Balloteli.

I was planning on dumping Saurez at some point any way. It would give me a attacking group to pick from of:

    Silva VDV Nani Walters Moses

    RVP Adebayor Ballotelli

What do you think? You help is greatly appreciated!

    Sturridge maybe?

    Thank you.

If Nasri doesn't start nailing down a starting place, are we saying that Silva, Nani and VDV are the only 9m+ mildfielders worth the money? Seems as though after them, it drops right down to the sub-7m range, there is nothing I like in between. Helps really, because shifting Nasri for someone like Ramsey or Walters frees up a lot of cash to keep in the bank for the future.

is this the defence you would play?

    Vorm (hennessey)

don't really feel like doubling up on Swansea and i don't think simpson will keep a clean sheet. but neither will bosingwa. Thoughts?

    My game week predictions:
Man Utd 2-1 Everton ( Chicho is going to make his differential owners happy)
    Chelsea 1-1 Arsenal
Man City 4-0 Wolves (a Karl henry red card)
    Norwich 1-0 Blackburn
    Sunderland 1-2 Villa
Swansea 2-0 Bolton (Vorm will save a penalty)
Wigan 0-0 Fulham (????--I am not interested in predicting this one)
West Brom 1-3 Liverpool ( Suarez will come off the bench and score 2)
    Spurs 3-1 Qpr
Stoke City 2-1 Nucatle (the coveted cs won't come)

    Agreed????
