Our regular Friday feature takes a look at some of the crucial encounters on the agenda ahead of gameweek eleven. Junior Hoilett will be looking to torment Jose Bosingwa at Ewood Park, a battle of the attacking full-backs is on the menu when Liverpool host Swansea and there’s a potentially explosive midfield encounter on the cards when Sunderland travel to Old Trafford.

Jose Bosingwa vs Junior Hoilett

While Chelsea are clear favourites for the trip to Ewood Park, their defensive woes show no sign of abating. After a strong attacking start to the season, the wheels have come off the Jose Bosingwa bandwagon, with the right-back particularly culpable when it comes to nullifying opponents.

Having picked up a red card in his last away game with the trickery of Shaun Wright-Phillips proving his undoing, Bosingwa could be on shaky ground. Reports today suggest he’s in line for the chop with Branislav Ivanovic set to take over, though this could be dismissed as mere speculation. Blackburn will look to test Bosingwa’s frailties again, though, and with the pace and skill of Junior Hoilett flying down the flank, Andre Villas-Boas may decide for a reshuffle.

Hoilett has been the one positive in a miserable start to the season for Steve Kean’s side. His versatility has seen him fielded on both flanks as well as up front for Blackburn so far, though with Ashley Cole far more solid defensively, you would think Kean will target the Chelsea right-back position as his best chance of success. Coming into the game on the back of a goal and 3 bonus points last week, Hoilett’s in the type of form to take advantage of the visitors’ obliging back-four.

Jose Enrique vs Angel Rangel

Swansea may have picked up their first away point of the season last time round at Molineux but a trip to Anfield is a trickier test. Enrique has settled into life at Liverpool seamlessly- his left-flank raids have quickly become a regular feature of the Reds’ play this season and he’ll be looking to bomb forward and support his side’s attacking ploys throughout, as Liverpool look to record their first home win in three attempts.

Rangel is similarly attack-minded and while Swansea’s home form is more suitable to his style, gaps left at the back have been exploited on their travels. Supported by the speed of Nathan Dyer ahead, it may well be he’ll have to curtail his forward raids if the visitors are to prosper. Two assists in his previous game offer a sign of his form, but Rangel could prove to be a weakness at the back tomorrow afternoon.

Wayne Rooney vs Lee Cattermole

A somewhat speculative one, perhaps, but with injuries to others playing a part in both managers’ thinking, it’s more than a possibility. Sir Alex Ferguson admitted he’s been fielding Rooney in a deeper role due to injuries to others and with Anderson a doubt after picking up a knock in United’s midweek Champions League game against Otelul Galati, Rooney could feature once again as a central midfielder. With Javier Hernandez, Danny Welbeck and Dimitar Berbatov affording plenty options up front, Rooney is a strong option to step in alongside Darren Fletcher for the home clash with Sunderland.

With David Vaughan a doubt due to a groin problem, Black Cats skipper Cattermole is in line for a recall. Cattermole’s presence in the middle of the park will no doubt add a little edge to the encounter- hardly an angel, his tenacious ball-winning ability could be pitted against the equally- competitive Rooney. Sparks could fly, cards produced, it’s shaping up to be a no-holds barred head-to-head between these two- perfect fodder for Guy Fawkes day.

Anyone in your mini leagues guilty of "player poaching"? When one of your players does well so they bring them in as well just to keep up with you or maintain a certain point lead.

I am too, but I play H2H. Sometimes when im inbetween 2 players I choose the one that my next weeks opponent has, so I would not suffer if he goes nuts.

If they're doing it to keep up then that tactic will never work as they'll always be a transfer behind and never actually taking over.

I think at this stage of the season you just play your own game. I'm pretty sure the leader in my league has done Rooney to Aguero this week, and I already have a similar team but I'm trying to make the transfer I think is right rather than going for Aguero to keep up or going for a differential that may backfire.

I lead my league virtually the whole season last season in my league and it's slightly easier because you can play safe and make obvious transfers. The one time I played defensive and got someone in who a lot of people had it backfired so from then on I just played my own game.

Sorely tempted to ship Rooney in order to finance Nani but think I'm gonna have to stick with him. In which case it's Bos > Jones and potentially Agbonlahor > Sturridge. The latter's a risky one but Chelsea could batter Blackburn.

Really don't know whether to stick or twist - I have the feeling I am going to need to do some work next time out, so I am wondering whether it is worth going with this line up, saving my transfer and making bigger changes next week. Is that crazy?

I am in the same boat - see above. I would be tempted to keep it, as you potentially want to shift a few after this week (Suarez, Petrov etc) given fixtures. But would captain RVP - he will tear WBA apart.

I really think the extra transfer will come in handy next week after the international break when i'll be looking to get rid of the likes of Simpson, Enrique, Moses and Suarez. So hoping to just use one this week and also raise a bit of cash if possible. Bosingwa > Evans does appeal but if he doesn't play i may only have 2 defenders and 10 starters

Just went Kompany for Jones to avoid playing Brown away at Utd.

Kompany has three in the next five you wouldn't ideally start him while Jones has 10 in a row where he's a reasonable option.

Good move or am I just convincing myself I've done the right thing?

Still think value wise (if you got him at 8) you'll be hard pushed to find a better striker all season. Two games without scoring isn't exactly unheard of for top strikers, sure even RVP will go through it at some point.

In a similar situation and swapped Kompany for Jones this week. Think Jones will do better over next 5-10 weeks but I plan to bring Kompany back in at some point.

    Team is:
    Kenny
    Bosingwa, Enrique, Raylor,
    VDV, Silva, Moses, Walters,
    Rooney, RVP (c), Suarez (v)
    (Vorm, Wilko, Dyer, Brown)

Really don’t know whether to stick or twist – I have the feeling I am going to need to do some work next time out, so I am wondering whether it is worth going with this line up, saving my transfer and making bigger changes next week. Is that crazy?

Thanks for the feedback provided above. But what if I may end up with only 8 playign as Shax, Larsson, Silva are doubtful, Evans not nailed on and Kompany suspended.

Here's my team for this week

    Ruddy

    Evans, Shawx, Enriq

    B. Johnson, Silva, VDV, Larsson

    RVP, Roo, Adeb

bench : Vorm, Fergie, Komp and Brown.

i think Larsson will start, and silva will prob. come off the bench in the second half when city usually start rolling.

      team looks strong enough.

Should I do N Taylor (swansea) or barnett to Evans?
I could take out kompany , walker, or R Taylor instead but I'd like to keep them...

I wouldnt make any changes, looks good enough for this week. Id play Brunt instead of Dyer, more chance of scoring imo.

Why, he is only suspended for a week and is a must usually. to buy him back it'll cost .2m than to sell

Bad fixtures too - hard to see many clean sheets with Liverpool and Chelsea away and Arsenal at home. And if he does happend to have a worse spell, his price could easily drop to 6.1.

assuming anderson can't go, i wonder if SAF will try out jones in a holding role like he did against liverpool. granted, he didn't look good in that match...

the question however is, who has been the worse..?? qpr or westbrom/??? i think on their days, RVP AND AGUERO will score almost the same... however, qpr have been pathetic... plus mancity have a much better midfield than arsenal which also means more scoring options for aguero... but with that being said, RVP is on free kicks and pens... THE decision of the week to be made...
