With gameweek 12 now complete, it’s time to round up all the miscreants and take stock of the ramifications their offences will bring. We’ve already spoken of the 22 Saturday yellows in our previous review and after the addition of the Sunday and Monday games, that yellow card count ticked up to 29.

However, there were no further names joining Wigan’s Antolin Alcaraz, and the Saturday additions, Joey Barton, David Dunn, Stephen Hunt and Jamie O’Hara on the ban list for gameweek 13 (extending to GW14 in the case of the Wigan man).

Meanwhile, the population of the Suspension Tightrope was boosted tonight by a fourth yellow card for Villa’s reborn Bulgarian, Stiliyan Petrov. There are now up to 11 nervous souls on the tightrope, with Saturday’s new faces: Ryan Shawcross and Lee Cattermole, already making themselves uncomfortable on the high wire.

The final mention in the shake-up from gameweek 12 must go to the card happy pair of Steven N’Zonzi and Lucas Leiva. The Blackburn and Liverpool enforcers both picked up further yellows over the weekend. N’Zonzi’s in the bizarre 3-3 draw at Wigan, making that six in just 12 league appearances, with Lucas’ yellow in the win against Chelsea, his sixth in 13 games across league and cup this season. The pair now forge ahead together in the lead of the card ‘race’, with a two-match ban; the prize if either (or both) of them makes it to 10 before the distant April 8 deadline.

Gameweek 13 Bans

  • Antolin Alcaraz (Wigan) – FA Charge
  • Joey Barton (QPR) – 5 Yellows
  • David Dunn (Blackburn) – 1 Red for 2 bookings
  • Stephen Hunt (Wolves) – 5 Yellows
  • Jamie O’Hara (Wolves) – 5 Yellows

Gameweek 13 Tightrope

  • Gabby Agbonlahor (Aston Villa)
  • Stiliyan Petrov (Aston Villa)
  • Frank Lampard (Chelsea)
  • John Terry (Chelsea)
  • Brede Hangeland (Fulham)
  • Steve Sidwell (Fulham)
  • Gareth Barry (Man City)
  • Ryan Shawcross (Stoke)
  • Glenn Whelan (Stoke)
  • Lee Cattermole (Sunderland)
  • Richard Stearman (Wolves)

TBF, Ade hasn't looked particularly dangerous. 3 goals in 2 games then a dry spell lasting since the Liverpool game.

To all the MUN fans - how likely is Smalling to start at the w/e? I see he's not in the CL game tomorrow, which I assume will mean Jones and Rio play. Therefore, more likely for Smalling to play vs NEW at the w/e? I'm looking to bring a MUN defender in, but can't decide between Jones and Smalling. Also, how are Smalling's starting prospects going forward?

United need to win the Benfica game right so not much rotation? Think Vidic is more likely to play the Rio given his fitness and what not. If Jones plays I won't bring him in this week.

Jones will play in CL, because vidic is banned and Evans slightly injured. If Evans recovers it could be Fabio/Rafael Rio Evans Evra. But since it is the most important CL game so far I think it will be Jones.

I'm afraid no-one knows what SAF is thinking when it comes to rotation, anyone who does is either a genius or a lunatic. I'm pretty sure fergie doesn't even know himself until a day or two before each game. Vidic aside, you may as well randomly pick names out of a hat. Even rooney & DDG can be rested without any prior warning.

Yeah, I know Richards scored big this week but thats a 1-off IMO. Man City for example are'nt keeping enough clean sheets to justify me keeping Kompany in the side....be as well off with Brown for the next 4 or 5 weeks

      Baines and that's it IMO.

      BAE is an OK shout.
      Enrique if bought cheap.
      Jones will face rotation eventually.
City have poor fixtures and are struggling to keep those sheets clean.
Verm is injury prone, but Arsenal aren't that bad at the back statistically. Depends if Mertesacker plays.

Thought it may be helpful to re-post this-For those who are contemplating getting the Spurs ‘trinity’:

In the last 9 PL games Spurs have scored 22 goals(no less than 2 in any game and averaging nearly 2.5 per game). These 3 have scored 15 of the goals and had 8 assists.Over the last 8 games(VDV missed the Wolves game) they have scored an average of 21.5 points between them per game. I think this is a good bet and doesn’t seem to run the rotation risk eg City.

They're a touch cheaper than the City options too. I think 2 is sound but 3 is overkill. Tried it with Utd and City and whilst it can look great one week...

I don't know. I was all set on Bainesey Boy. This game is getting tougher.

Possibly useful trivia: BAE has had a higher EA Index score than Kyle Walker in every gameweek except three, and one of those three was a draw. Not counting today obviously.

Just got in. Heard Spurs were sublime. I always enjoy watching them, shame I missed it.

Anyway, as I try and catch up with events could you please help me choose one of these combinations?

    a) Jones, Nani, Klasnic

    b) Baines, Larsson, Klasnic

    c) Wilkinson/MaCauley, Lampard, 5.6 striker (Graham, Morrison or Helguson)

    d) Baines, Bale, 5.3 striker (Graham, Morrison or Helguson)

Seriously thinking D or perhaps B. Aaargh!

I daren't buy Jones until I know his situation when Smalling and Raf return.

UCL fantasy captain out of Gomez and Ronaldo? I just have this lingering doubt that Ronaldo may not start- of course captaincy could always be changed to Soldado for the following night but Gomez could also run riot. Thoughts please?
