With gameweek 12 now complete, it’s time to round up all the miscreants and take stock of the ramifications their offences will bring. We’ve already spoken of the 22 Saturday yellows in our previous review and after the addition of the Sunday and Monday games, that yellow card count ticked up to 29.

However, there were no further names joining Wigan’s Antolin Alcaraz, and the Saturday additions, Joey Barton, David Dunn, Stephen Hunt and Jamie O’Hara on the ban list for gameweek 13 (extending to GW14 in the case of the Wigan man).

Meanwhile, the population of the Suspension Tightrope was boosted tonight by a fourth yellow card for Villa’s reborn Bulgarian, Stiliyan Petrov. There are now up to 11 nervous souls on the tightrope, with Saturday’s new faces: Ryan Shawcross and Lee Cattermole, already making themselves uncomfortable on the high wire.

The final mention in the shake-up from gameweek 12 must go to the card happy pair of Steven N’Zonzi and Lucas Leiva. The Blackburn and Liverpool enforcers both picked up further yellows over the weekend. N’Zonzi’s in the bizarre 3-3 draw at Wigan, making that six in just 12 league appearances, with Lucas’ yellow in the win against Chelsea, his sixth in 13 games across league and cup this season. The pair now forge ahead together in the lead of the card ‘race’, with a two-match ban; the prize if either (or both) of them makes it to 10 before the distant April 8 deadline.

Gameweek 13 Bans

  • Antolin Alcaraz (Wigan) – FA Charge
  • Joey Barton (QPR) – 5 Yellows
  • David Dunn (Blackburn) – 1 Red for 2 bookings
  • Stephen Hunt (Wolves) – 5 Yellows
  • Jamie O’Hara (Wolves) – 5 Yellows

Gameweek 13 Tightrope

  • Gabby Agbonlahor (Aston Villa)
  • Stiliyan Petrov (Aston Villa)
  • Frank Lampard (Chelsea)
  • John Terry (Chelsea)
  • Brede Hangeland (Fulham)
  • Steve Sidwell (Fulham)
  • Gareth Barry (Man City)
  • Ryan Shawcross (Stoke)
  • Glenn Whelan (Stoke)
  • Lee Cattermole (Sunderland)
  • Richard Stearman (Wolves)

He was absolutely brilliant. Keeps the seam up, good line and length. Looks very promising.

I find it funny that the three players who had their careers on the line (Rick, Mitchy J, Haddin) were the ones who got the runs for us

Really don't want to knee jerk Bale in but with Spurs' fixtures (including the DGW) and the form he's in, it's hard not to.

It would mean losing Ramsey for the home game to Fulham (followed by Wigan...). Thoughts?

I was an optimistic Ramsey owner once. However I watched his last 4 games and he plays too deep. He always plays the killer ball to the person who makes the assist but unfortunately that goes unrewarded. Very little chances in front of goal too

Just been analysing the Opta stats for midfielders, and 5 key passes in Ramsey's last 2 games is right up there with the best of 'em. While he's not looking likely to score, he's been unlucky not to assist more.

Tottenham are quietly on fire. Good thing about them is no rotation risk and you know where the attacking points are going. This 'trinity' of VDV, Bale and Adebayor is really appealing to me now.

Wouldn't lose Ramsey with the fixtures he's got though.

Adebayor was woeful today, yet managed to score 2. I think I'd rather have VDV (for the fk's and pens) and Bale based on form.

How about Bale, Larsson, Hernandez? Have been looking at Larsson and Sessegnon over the next 3 games. Bale's gone and thrown a big spanner in that plan.

Everything was going reasonably well this GW until game tonight. I had caught up some ground before. League leader had Ade, 2nd had Bale and Ade and 3rd had Bale (C) and Ade. 4th I have gained ground on.

I am in 5th and going to be 126 pts behind leader. I am close to giving up, how do I chase such a big gap or shall just play it normally and see what happens?

Just keep it cool and reasonable Ajay. The early leader in my work league was about 60 points ahead of me after 5 or 6 weeks. I'm about 70 clear of him now.
It's still very early....keep the chin up!!

I am still getting green arrows and increasing in the world (hard not to after being 1.9M after 2weeks) since an early WC. I have not had any big 70+ scores yet. This guy who is 126pts ahead I beat him last year and we both were not 1st at xmas (not 120pts behind though!), but he started hot and I have not been able to catch up.

With a lot of players in common, would you try different capt strategies or just hope other non mutual team players pull some points back? Cheers for postive words.

Like I said, it's too early for mental differentials, whether they're your captain or not.
Just forget about the common players you share with him and concentrate on the others.
Play the fixtures with those players and hopefully he won't be concentrating as hard as you obviously do!
All you need to do is slowly trawl him in with 3 or 4 points a week.

I got rid of Kompany GW11, kept Balotelli who lost .3 last week for 17,000 transfers out. Now it'll take 100,000 to make that up again. I know he scored but was going to swap for Klasnic. Moan over. Carry On.

I brought Dzeko in for a hit this week and am just too stubborn to get rid so quickly. I can see a lot of transfers going on Adebayor > Dzeko now which is bloody frustrating.

Liverpool aren't the tightest and Mancini will be wary of going to Anfield with a 442 so I'm thinking Dzeko will start that one. Whoever starts is likely to score with the number of chances City create, but it certainly isn't fun second guessing who though.

The long term play is to keep Silva for his year end total. If he is sold now, it will be very costly to get him back; he will perform. IMO

Move with the times. Hernandez is in form and in Rooney has one of the most hard working and creative players supplying him. That's before even factoring the supply from Nani, Valencia and Young.
