With gameweek 12 now complete, it’s time to round up all the miscreants and take stock of the ramifications their offences will bring. We’ve already spoken of the 22 Saturday yellows in our previous review and after the addition of the Sunday and Monday games, that yellow card count ticked up to 29.

However, there were no further names joining Wigan’s Antolin Alcaraz, and the Saturday additions, Joey Barton, David Dunn, Stephen Hunt and Jamie O’Hara on the ban list for gameweek 13 (extending to GW14 in the case of the Wigan man).

Meanwhile, the population of the Suspension Tightrope was boosted tonight by a fourth yellow card for Villa’s reborn Bulgarian, Stiliyan Petrov. There are now up to 11 nervous souls on the tightrope, with Saturday’s new faces: Ryan Shawcross and Lee Cattermole, already making themselves uncomfortable on the high wire.

The final mention in the shake-up from gameweek 12 must go to the card happy pair of Steven N’Zonzi and Lucas Leiva. The Blackburn and Liverpool enforcers both picked up further yellows over the weekend. N’Zonzi’s in the bizarre 3-3 draw at Wigan, making that six in just 12 league appearances, with Lucas’ yellow in the win against Chelsea, his sixth in 13 games across league and cup this season. The pair now forge ahead together in the lead of the card ‘race’, with a two-match ban; the prize if either (or both) of them makes it to 10 before the distant April 8 deadline.

    Vermaelen or Jones?

    I can afford both, Vermaelen has the better chance of scoring i'd say but Jones more chance of a CS, Jones is also more of a rotation risk

          Im not sure, Sorenson conceeded 3 at home so i think Begovic might be back this weekend but thats all guesses if you want to play it safe go for a keeper maybe Hart and play him every week? or go for a rotater with Hennesy I just dont ever rate Wolves for a clean sheet.

      i'd consider reducing your doubling up on the stoke defence, too leaky at the minute for me. i'm keeping faith with rooney (*muffled laughter*). But really I am, pennies will get the ball rolling in the nice upcoming fixtures. for me the lack of attacking threat recently has been down to the raping from city, they'll loosen up from now on me thinks.

        i have VDV and Adebayor, would like Bale I must admit, but apart from the DGW, Im happy with those two at the moment. If I had the choice though Id probably go Bale and VDV as Adebayor seems to be so wasteful,, he had so many chances last night, should of really scored hat trick.     I previously considered doubling up on Spurs towards the double gameweek, settling with just VDV.

    Over time I'm starting to consider getting Adebayor as well. Is this really a good tactic in the long-run or just for great fixture periods/double gameweeks?

    Bale doesn't seem to be the explosive fantasy option he once was when classified as a defender so I'm only really looking at Adebayor seriously, especially given Suarez's inability to find the back of the net.

    Any thoughts on doubling up on Spurs short-term and long-term?

      Suarez - Ade is a decent transfer. No harm doubling on Spurs in the form they're in, their fixtures, and the bonus of a DGW not far away.

    Just a thought on Bale.

    When Bale started to rip it up last year, teams started to double team him. Consequently he wasn't as influential on the FPL scene. He's back in a similar vein of form and teams could very well do it again. That's what is putting me off getting him

      Villa doubled up on him last night, or that seemed like the plan at least. Cuellar played RB with Hutton in front of him. He seems to be coming inside more often lately (not just sticking out on the wing like he used to) when I've seen Spurs on TV this year.

      He's a good shout however with RVP taking up one slot it only really leaves two to choose from. I'd rather have Adebayor and Sturridge at the moment. Wouldn't want a 10 million player I wouldn't captain.

        does the move above Im suggesting look good then DeLaet>Jones Rooney>Hernandez. Im not doing great so its probably worth me taking that risk, why wouldnt you captain him Mac?

          He's a one goal a game kind of player. Not explosive like Rooney or RVP or Aguero. I'm not saying I'd never captain him but I feel like I wouldn't often be confident captaining him. Add in the rotation risk as well.

      Yeah Mac, I already have RVP Sturridge, so he'd be 3rd pick. Rooney looks the better pick as he's much more likely to play most/every game.

    Don't know if anyone plays the FF on Facebook but i'm up to 22nd and only 19pts behind the leader
    only 483159 players so not really a biggie and a lot of casual players by the looks. I quite like it as you are only allowed 2 changes per week (both free)
