Paul Lambert talks of Norwich City rotation. David Moyes praises the performance of Diniyar Bilyaletdinov, Shaun Wright-Phillips is an early injury doubt for Neil Warnock and Brendan Rodgers awaits news on scans for both Angel Rangel and Danny Graham:

David Moyes has talked up the abilities of Diniyar Bilyaletdinov after his weekend display at Bolton. With Royston Drenthe missing out due to an ankle problem, the Russian, in a rare league appearance, impressed at the Reebok, grabbing an assist in the 2-0 win. Drenthe’s Fantasy owners will be hoping he’s fit and available for selection this weekend at home to Stoke and leaps ahead of Bilyaletdinov in the pecking order once again.

Brendan Rodgers is sweating on the fitness of Danny Graham after the striker limped out of Sunday’s clash with Aston Villa due to an ankle problem. The Swans boss has similar concerns over right-back Angel Rangel but admitted he is less optimistic over the Spaniard’s chances, with scans on both players likely to reveal more in the next day. Leroy Lita is an obvious replacement for Graham, though Swansea’s options at the back are stretched, meaning Jazz Richards could be handed a top-flight debut.

Paul Lambert has spoken of his intentions to utilise more members of the Norwich squad, after making three changes to his starting lineup for the win over QPR. The Canaries boss has been fielding a settled first XI of late but admits he’ll ring the changes, if necessary, in order to keep his players fully fit:

You need the whole squad. We wanted to freshen up. I felt those lads with that freshness would allow them to hit the ground running and then maybe when it hit the hour mark you might have to think how much have they got left in their body.

Stephen Kelly is expected to be fit for Fulham’s Europa League clash with FC Twente, after making good progress from a groin problem picked up on international duty. Victory over the Dutch side would ensure qualification for the Cottagers and Kelly’s return would boost Martin Jol’s options in the right-back area; with Zdenek Grygera a long-term absentee, Chris Baird has been Jol’s viable alternative of late. In other injury news, Orlando Sa scored on his return to reserve action last night, while Steve Sidwell remains sidelined after a hernia operation.

Alex McLeish has admitted the performances of Jermaine Jenas and Barry Bannan have given him “food for thought” ahead Villa’s home clash with Man United. Despite the weekend game at Swansea finishing goalless, Big Eck feels the midfield duo gave his side an added attacking impetus and both could come into consideration for a starting role on Saturday.

Roberto Mancini has also hit out at the scheduling of tonight’s Carling Cup match against Arsenal- the tie comes just over forty-eight hours after Man City’s match at Liverpool. With this weekend’s league game against Norwich preceding a critical Champions League showdown with Bayern Munich, Mancini has admitted he will “change all the team“ for the showdown- good news for Fantasy managers ahead of the Canaries game on Saturday.

Kenny Dalglish joined Mancini in his criticism. Liverpool are in a similar situation, having to travel to Chelsea only two days after Sunday’s game against City and Dalglish admits there may be “one or two missing“ for his side. With no European competition to consider, though, and given that their next game is not until Monday at Fulham, the Reds boss may field a stronger team than perhaps anticipated, with plenty recovery time ahead of the Craven Cottage clash.

Shaun Wright-Phillips is an injury concern for QPR ahead of this weekend’s clash with West Brom. The player suffered a foot injury against Norwich and left the ground on crutches but Neil Warnock is not ruling him out at this moment:

Shaun is undergoing extensive treatment this week. Fortunately there’s no break, and we haven’t written him off just yet for Saturday’s game against West Brom.

O Hara (perfect rotation with my Dyer and cheaper)

    or

Larsson(good fixtures, poor team, consistent scorer)

I really like the b transfers, but looking at your team I would rather get rid of Wilkinson than Simpson, (even though that leaves you with two NEW defenders) plus that would leave you with a spare 0.5 or so to upgrade ferguson.

there was a dodgy link in another thread:

Real Madrid want to offload Drenthe. Drenthe went to EVE to get match fit and to put himself in the shop window to tempt "bigger" EPL clubs. LIV was mentioned. Moyes wasn't happy. big falling out. Drenthe not starting.

however, it wasn't even a rumour. more like some LIV fan posting some tripe on the web.

          it's tripe. pure pro-LIV tripe.

          look at the quotes:

"Liverpool are thought to be interested in taking Drenthe across Stanley Park to Anfield, a move which Drenthe is thought to welcome."

read as: who in their right mind wouldn't want to move to LIV, eh?

"Drenthe could be available for as little as £2.5million, a steal for such a promising player who at the right club will really shine."

read as: he can't shine at the other team in Liverpool. a crappy little club like EVE.

this is what GW14 will have to contend with:

    Vorm
    BAE, Enrique, Kompany
    Silva, Drenthe, Sess, VDV
    RvP, Ade, Ba

    Krul, Walters, Naylor, Wilko

the only thing i might do is VDV > Bale depending on injury.

have done 1 freebie and have another left

plan was to keep 2 rolling over for 2 weeks and decide next week whether i want rooney in or not

i do have 3.3m in the bank and can afford to do brown to vidic/baines this week aswell

    what would u do

    a) brown to vidic
    b) brown to baines
    c) save the extra transfer and have the option of getting rooney in for aguero next week if he hits for at villa

      Brown to Baines for sure:
      1) Stoke at Goodison after Europa. 75% chance of CS.
      2) Baines back in form with Cahill's return.
      3) BAPs starting to make Baines beautiful once again.

interesting post on previous page reminding us that Africa Cup kicks in gw 20.

Now that Ade is back on board Togo team it would be useful to know exactly when he will be off in view of dgw.

Also is here an Asia cup his year?

Mark could we have an article regarding these issues highlighting those who are likely to go and when so we can plan ahead?

Not the worst idea in the world. Spurs are on form and those are the players you would think would score highly should Spurs continue their good form.

However is Spurs crash and burn, then so does your FPL team.

    All,

    Current team is:

    Krul/Ruddy
    Kompany/Simpson/Enrique/Shawcross/Orr
    Silva/Ramsey/VDV/Dyer/Allen
    Rooney/Adebayor/RVP

    Was thinking of the following:
Ramsey & Allen out - Drenthe & Ben Arfa in
Then replacing Orr with a 4.0 defender such as Monk, McAuley, Wilkinson etc later on.

    Any thoughts.......

Barring Newcastle, the fixtures for the top 7 teams during christmas looks pretty damn appealing:

    MUN : WIG - BLA - new

CHE: FUL - AVL - wol

LIV: BLA - NEW - mci

ARS: WOL - QPR - ful

TOT: nor - swa - WBA + EVE

MCI: wba - sun - LIV

NEW: bol - liv - MUN

I'm pretty sure we'll see the likes or RVP, Rooney, Aguero, Silva, VDV, Adebayor, etc, etc take the majority of the festive points. Going to be a tough call who's going to get the most though. I know it's early but what are people's thoughts?

i dont think there is any rumours, arguing, conspiracy etc over drenthe. i think the simple truth is that Moyes isnt impressed with Drenthes performance. thats all.i think he has lost his position in starting 11 and i dont see him coming back any time soon. he simply doesnt have skills, knowledge, attitude etc.. to play Premier League!!! maybe he`ll play full 90 min every week, but in some `championship` club, or medium quality dutch, belgium or eastern european club... ive been here around, wrote already about Drenthe and his skills, i really can not look back to search for those comments, but they were made in time when everyone was `crazy` about drenthe, and everyone wanted to stick him in their teams. My friendly advise back then was do not buy him, and now its even friendlier SELL HIM!!!
