Steve Morison gets amongst the points yet again for Norwich. Wayne Hennessey’s heroics restrict the Canaries to a couple of goals at Molineux, while Chris Eagles’ Fantasy owners will be getting a little nervous as the winger is benched for the second match in a row:

Steve Morison
Once again, the Welshman produced the goods for his Fantasy owners last night. Morison provided an assist for Simeon Jackson’s goal to put Norwich 2-1 ahead at Molineux and, in terms of value, is the number one outfield player in the Fantasy Premier League (FPL) game. Morison’s consistency is so strong he gets an almost-weekly mention in the Scout Notes- last night’s contribution means that, since becoming a permanent fixture in Paul Lambert’s starting XI back in Gameweek 5, he has either scored or assisted in all but three games. In spite of his heroics, Morison remains at 5.0, his original price, though is proving to be one of the most reliable Fantasy acquisitions around.

Andrew Surman
The midfield was a peripheral figure in the Canaries set-up over the first twelve gameweeks, making just three appearances, but now seems to have established himself in Paul Lambert’s first XI. Surman has started every match since gameweek 13, failing to finish only one of those fixtures, and vindicated his manager’s decision by firing home the opener at Wolves last night. At 4.3, he looks decent value and has crept onto the radar, though second-guessing Lambert’s team selection at times can prove a tad too tricky.

Kyle Naughton
The full-back picked up his fifth booking of the season and will serve his one-match suspension in the Canaries next game, at home to Spurs. Initially, there was some confusion over this- given that Tottenham are his parent club, he would have been ineligible to play on the 27th December anyway, but this morning we’ve had it confirmed by the FA that he will be available for selection for the New Year’s Eve fixture at home to Fulham, having served his suspension.

Kevin Doyle
His omission from last night’s Wolves lineup was something of a rarity. Doyle dropped to the bench for the first time this season, with Sylvain Ebanks-Blake fielded alongside Steven Fletcher. Given his replacement found the net, Doyle’s owners may be a little wary going forward now, with his position as an automatic first-choice forward perhaps no longer as assured.

Wayne Hennessey
The Wolves stopper may have shipped a couple of goals but performed heroics between the posts to defy Norwich time and again. Hennessey made 9 saves at Molineux last night and has now recorded 84 saves this season- given that Brad Friedel is second best with 64, the Welshman’s importance to Mick McCarthy’s outfit is obvious. You’d have to go back to gameweek 3 for the last time Hennessey recorded a clean sheet but thanks to his save points, he’s the third-top scoring keeper in FPL so far this term.

Yakubu
The Nigerian’s goal was not enough to save Blackburn from defeat but his Fantasy owners will be smiling after he grabbed his tenth goal of the campaign. Rovers fans may be calling for the head of Steve Kean but they cannot deny his purchase of Yakubu was an inspired decision- his 10 goal haul has come from just eleven starts. With away trips to Liverpool and Man United next, his owners won’t be too optimistic over the festive period.

Chris Eagles
The winger’s place in Bolton’s starting XI had seemingly looked assured over the last few months. Eagles had started every one of the Trotters’ fixtures from gameweek 8-15 but he was afforded a forty-five minute sub appearance last week away to Fulham. Last night saw this situation worsen, much to the chagrin of Eagles’ 10.8% of Fantasy owners- not only was he benched, he failed to make an appearance in what was, arguably, Bolton’s most crucial game of the season. The win at bitter rivals Blackburn lifted Bolton off the bottom of the table and given that Martin Petrov, installed in Eagles’ place on the left wing, grabbed an assist, his owners will be anxiously reviewing the situation over the next couple of gameweeks, particularly with a couple of crucial home games up next.

Kevin Davies
Similar to Eagles, his omission from the Bolton side was significant, though Davies has just 4.1% of owners in comparison. Owen Coyle went with David N’Gog alongside Ivan Klasnic, with the latter seemingly an automatic starter when available this term. With a couple of goals all season, compared to Klasnic’s 7, Davies is clearly not the steady Fantasy force he was in seasons gone by and given that he, too, sat on the bench for the entirety of the derby, his game time looked less assured than ever- Davies has completed just six full appearances this season for the Trotters.

        Plan would probably be:

GW 18: Ward -> Evans and Ade -> Rooney (free)
GW 19: Ba -> Sturridge (free)
GW 20: Rooney -> Ade and Brunt -> Bale (-4)

I know injuries etc. but the more I see it the more I like it.

You've got a strong midfield ... so i'd be tempted to downgrade one of them.

Won't be popular on here but:

      Yak & Silva --> Rooney & Surman?

Then after boxing day, Ba --> Sturridge?

There's an argument that you can't cover all teams so play the fixtures.

If you get rid of a spurs player, you'll want him back in 2 weeks ... beware of taking hits to take out then hits to get them back in.

I think I will take Silva out, my main rival also has him so I'm not gaining any ground. he has 1 FT I have 2 so if he wants Rooney he either takes a hit or loses RvP, this way I can have both and not take a hit. I also agree about Spurs players. The reason I've been reluctant over Silva is that he's my only original left, but no room for sentimentality.

Thinking of doing Ba to Sturridge this week. Any thoughts. Bolton might have turned a corner have yesterdays triumph, and Newcastle have the two fixtures against Liverpool and United coming up. In addition to that, I would not want to be without a Chelsea player in these upcoming weeks..

    Lost on last page.

I was set on doing this week O’hara out for Ethrington however have no United or Chelsea cover bar Evans which scares me to death…

I could however right now do Baines out for Shotton and then Nani for O’hara? what do people reckon?

I would have to do this roday though?

Following that to address Chelsea i could do Ba out Sturridge?

If not for a hit then absolutely do it, maybe just wait to see how Baines does this evening though.

Ba > Sturridge makes sense long term, Ba is just as likely to pick up points at the weekend though.

If the Wolves game is called off I may have to do the unthinkable and drop RVP. Looking at his games after that, he could do damage against QPR but then they've got tough away trips to Fulham and Swansea and a home game against United. While trying to work Rooney in I think it may be more profitable to keep Adebayor alongside him for the next few weeks.

Plus I could get Verm for Arsenal attacking coverage 😛

Chaps a bit of advice please.:

I bought RVP at 12.6, and now he is worth 13.2.

Still, if I take him out of my team, I only get 12.6 back? Same with all of my players who have made money?

But I read on here about people taking advantage of just 0.2 gains.

    How does it work

go to transfers in the fpl site, select data view, itll give u the price urchased and the selling price.
in ur case u can sell him for 12.9

Every 0.2 a player goes up you get 0.1 of it. So it would cost more to get RVP back in as long as his price was more than what you sold him for.

People taking advantage of 0.2 gains is presumably when they have a player they're not too bothered about, they gain 0.1 on his value then sell him for a profit witihout intending to buy him back.

If you bought RVP for 12.6 and he's now 13.2 that means he should be worth 12.9 on your team. Go to Data View above the pitch on your transfer page and it will tell you the Purchase Price (PP), Selling Price (SP) and Current Price (CP).

The whole loan system is a mess and needs redoing.

There is no way that it is fair for Adebayor to be scoring goals for Man City (playing for Spurs) against all of their premieleague rivals. Not just Adebayor, benayoun and many more SWP have been in the past.

If we take this to the extreme ManCity could buy 200 of the worlds best players and loan then all out to other prem teams where they can play against everyone except City.

The loan system should be young players to get experience at a lower level.

Q1. Which 3 players should I get rid off for the SDT transfer window?

S Given/ J Collins / S Taylor / S Nasri / L Suarez

    Popular thinking is:

    option1: S Taylor, J Colins and Suarez

option2: S Taylor, Nasri and Suarez

If thats the case Im going to transfer in:
Phil Jones / K walker and either Sturridge or D Ba

What do you think to this, is it a good transfer and should it be Sturridge or D Ba?
