Steve Morison gets amongst the points yet again for Norwich. Wayne Hennessey’s heroics restrict the Canaries to a couple of goals at Molineux, while Chris Eagles’ Fantasy owners will be getting a little nervous as the winger is benched for the second match in a row:

Steve Morison
Once again, the Welshman produced the goods for his Fantasy owners last night. Morison provided an assist for Simeon Jackson’s goal to put Norwich 2-1 ahead at Molineux and, in terms of value, is the number one outfield player in the Fantasy Premier League (FPL) game. Morison’s consistency is so strong he gets an almost-weekly mention in the Scout Notes- last night’s contribution means that, since becoming a permanent fixture in Paul Lambert’s starting XI back in Gameweek 5, he has either scored or assisted in all but three games. In spite of his heroics, Morison remains at 5.0, his original price, though is proving to be one of the most reliable Fantasy acquisitions around.

Andrew Surman
The midfield was a peripheral figure in the Canaries set-up over the first twelve gameweeks, making just three appearances, but now seems to have established himself in Paul Lambert’s first XI. Surman has started every match since gameweek 13, failing to finish only one of those fixtures, and vindicated his manager’s decision by firing home the opener at Wolves last night. At 4.3, he looks decent value and has crept onto the radar, though second-guessing Lambert’s team selection at times can prove a tad too tricky.

Kyle Naughton
The full-back picked up his fifth booking of the season and will serve his one-match suspension in the Canaries next game, at home to Spurs. Initially, there was some confusion over this- given that Tottenham are his parent club, he would have been ineligible to play on the 27th December anyway, but this morning we’ve had it confirmed by the FA that he will be available for selection for the New Year’s Eve fixture at home to Fulham, having served his suspension.

Kevin Doyle
His omission from last night’s Wolves lineup was something of a rarity. Doyle dropped to the bench for the first time this season, with Sylvain Ebanks-Blake fielded alongside Steven Fletcher. Given his replacement found the net, Doyle’s owners may be a little wary going forward now, with his position as an automatic first-choice forward perhaps no longer as assured.

Wayne Hennessey
The Wolves stopper may have shipped a couple of goals but performed heroics between the posts to defy Norwich time and again. Hennessey made 9 saves at Molineux last night and has now recorded 84 saves this season- given that Brad Friedel is second best with 64, the Welshman’s importance to Mick McCarthy’s outfit is obvious. You’d have to go back to gameweek 3 for the last time Hennessey recorded a clean sheet but thanks to his save points, he’s the third-top scoring keeper in FPL so far this term.

Yakubu
The Nigerian’s goal was not enough to save Blackburn from defeat but his Fantasy owners will be smiling after he grabbed his tenth goal of the campaign. Rovers fans may be calling for the head of Steve Kean but they cannot deny his purchase of Yakubu was an inspired decision- his 10 goal haul has come from just eleven starts. With away trips to Liverpool and Man United next, his owners won’t be too optimistic over the festive period.

Chris Eagles
The winger’s place in Bolton’s starting XI had seemingly looked assured over the last few months. Eagles had started every one of the Trotters’ fixtures from gameweek 8-15 but he was afforded a forty-five minute sub appearance last week away to Fulham. Last night saw this situation worsen, much to the chagrin of Eagles’ 10.8% of Fantasy owners- not only was he benched, he failed to make an appearance in what was, arguably, Bolton’s most crucial game of the season. The win at bitter rivals Blackburn lifted Bolton off the bottom of the table and given that Martin Petrov, installed in Eagles’ place on the left wing, grabbed an assist, his owners will be anxiously reviewing the situation over the next couple of gameweeks, particularly with a couple of crucial home games up next.

Kevin Davies
Similar to Eagles, his omission from the Bolton side was significant, though Davies has just 4.1% of owners in comparison. Owen Coyle went with David N’Gog alongside Ivan Klasnic, with the latter seemingly an automatic starter when available this term. With a couple of goals all season, compared to Klasnic’s 7, Davies is clearly not the steady Fantasy force he was in seasons gone by and given that he, too, sat on the bench for the entirety of the derby, his game time looked less assured than ever- Davies has completed just six full appearances this season for the Trotters.

So... I think with my winter wildcard I will do Krul>Moreira

I have Vorm, and I want to play him every match...he is a point machine... the best to way to do it is only having moreira as a second keeper (otherwise my head will allways tell me I should play the home GK)...
That way if Vorm doesn't play, moreira will surely play, and I will never miss having Gk...

    Am I insane?

to be fair drenthe been off with injury for 3 of the last 4 gws, when fit and given game time he looks very good.
his 20 mins against norwich was more influential than most others 90 mins.
hes a risk/reward player, if your midfield is pretty solid then worht an outside punt.

Hes very good and a solid def.. But his strongest position is CB.. With all our full backs injured, he could get quite a lot of minutes until jan..

From what I saw of him, terrified tbh. His first touch in the City match was suicidal, nice slow cross comes to him all alone at the back post and he passed it behind his own goal line, free corner to City. That said I have to be fair to him, he's just started and it was his first touch.

Aguero and Watson to Rooney and Surman with my 2 free transfers?
0.2 in the bank, so even if Rooney goes up to 12m, I currently can just afford it.

    Howard (Ruddy)
Hibbert, Jones, Kompany, Enrique, (R Taylor)
    Silva, Sess, Sinclair (Watson, Ferguson)
    RVP (c), Aguero, Adebayor

Could someone please explain the wisdom of so many managers here shipping either Ba or Adebayor out for Sturridge?
Adebayor has 3 lovely GWs coming up, plus it'd mean saving a transfer in not having to buy him back by Jan 2nd.
Ba has Bolton GW18 who i'd take all day before Sturridge vs Fulham.

Looks to me like a mass case of convincing yourself it's a practical transfer in order to chase team value.

I did Mata and Adebayor to Silva and Sturridge. I'm determined to keep Bale and VDV for the doubler, so Ade had to go to balance things up a bit.

Maybe not next week no, but after that Sturridge's fixtures are much better.

Bolton *could* be on a high after last night and be much tougher than usual too?

Mick McCarthy has struck a pre-transfer window blow against relegation by snapping up highly-rated Hearts utility player Eggert Jonsson.

Jonsson, 23, has signed for an undisclosed fee and signed a three-and-a-half-year contract after passing a medical ahead of last night's Barclays Premier League clash with Norwich at Molineux.

    Fantasy material ???

Recently missed a last minute penalty at Celtic Park. Great tackler, good on the ball, reasonably quick, but his passing leaves a lot to be desired. Pops up with the odd goal. If he`s classed as a defender and 4.0 then might be worth it but probably not.

    Vorm Given
    BAE Simpson Brown Jones Enrique
    Dyer Drenthe Silva Nani Walters
    RVP Adebayor Ba

    2.9M in bank. 2FT.

I want another Utd player. Evans or Rooney. If I want Rooney I have to raise 0.1 to swap him for Adebayor (Ade back for DGW). Can do this by one of following:

    Given--->Sorensen
    Dyer--->Gower
    Brown--->Gabbidon

Or keep Ade and get Evans and sort of Dyer/Drenthe (if he doesnt start)?

I'd have to get rid of Nani because I have 3 United players already so it's

      Nani to Larsson
      Adebayor to Rooney.

      Just go without Rooney 🙂

Is it crazy to think of getting rid of Ade and Smalling. Tempted to bring in Sturridge and Verm? Want Vermaelen but is it stupid taking out Ade and Smalling with the games coming up? Only other option is to downgrade Silva to get Verm in!

      Absolutely crazy that is.

Smalling with 2 you'd think nailed on clean sheets vs Wigan/Blackburn at home. Adebayor to play Norwich, Swansea and a Double gameweek.

Good team. I would sell K. Not great fixtures and not keeping cleanies to Caulker or Simpson.

Then would use that cash to get Valencia in as I think you'll need some Utd coverage over the next 3 home games.

    Hi guys,

Some really good advice on the previous page, cheers! which transfers should I make? Have 2 FT

    a) - Caulker in for RTaylor (and bench him)
    b) - Tiote in for Dyer (and bench him)
    c) - Surman in for Dyer (and bench him)
    d) - Sturridge in for Ba
    e) - Shotton in for RTaylor (and bench either him or Enrique)
    ...or multiple

    Vorm (Krul)
    Enrique, Vermaelen, Evans, Jones
    Nani, Bale, Silva
    Adebayor, RVP, Ba
    Subs: Walters, RTaylor, Dyer

Are there still doubts on the Chelsea/Arsenal boxing day games?

    cheers!

Damn a lot of us got lucky last night.
I checked and Adebayor's transfers out went past 100% of a fall before the GW ended at 1930. Then as the new GW began, people began to buy him in slowly. At price change time, 0230, he was at 99% of a fall, a couple of hundred transfers away. He didn't fall!

If he had I wouldn't be able to afford Rooney...
    who looks like rising tonight.

He will play - he won't be 100% fit, but he will play. You will then have to worry about the next set of Spurs fixtures where he may well be rested to recover fully.
