Steve Morison gets amongst the points yet again for Norwich. Wayne Hennessey’s heroics restrict the Canaries to a couple of goals at Molineux, while Chris Eagles’ Fantasy owners will be getting a little nervous as the winger is benched for the second match in a row:

Steve Morison
Once again, the Welshman produced the goods for his Fantasy owners last night. Morison provided an assist for Simeon Jackson’s goal to put Norwich 2-1 ahead at Molineux and, in terms of value, is the number one outfield player in the Fantasy Premier League (FPL) game. Morison’s consistency is so strong he gets an almost-weekly mention in the Scout Notes- last night’s contribution means that, since becoming a permanent fixture in Paul Lambert’s starting XI back in Gameweek 5, he has either scored or assisted in all but three games. In spite of his heroics, Morison remains at 5.0, his original price, though is proving to be one of the most reliable Fantasy acquisitions around.

Andrew Surman
The midfield was a peripheral figure in the Canaries set-up over the first twelve gameweeks, making just three appearances, but now seems to have established himself in Paul Lambert’s first XI. Surman has started every match since gameweek 13, failing to finish only one of those fixtures, and vindicated his manager’s decision by firing home the opener at Wolves last night. At 4.3, he looks decent value and has crept onto the radar, though second-guessing Lambert’s team selection at times can prove a tad too tricky.

Kyle Naughton
The full-back picked up his fifth booking of the season and will serve his one-match suspension in the Canaries next game, at home to Spurs. Initially, there was some confusion over this- given that Tottenham are his parent club, he would have been ineligible to play on the 27th December anyway, but this morning we’ve had it confirmed by the FA that he will be available for selection for the New Year’s Eve fixture at home to Fulham, having served his suspension.

Kevin Doyle
His omission from last night’s Wolves lineup was something of a rarity. Doyle dropped to the bench for the first time this season, with Sylvain Ebanks-Blake fielded alongside Steven Fletcher. Given his replacement found the net, Doyle’s owners may be a little wary going forward now, with his position as an automatic first-choice forward perhaps no longer as assured.

Wayne Hennessey
The Wolves stopper may have shipped a couple of goals but performed heroics between the posts to defy Norwich time and again. Hennessey made 9 saves at Molineux last night and has now recorded 84 saves this season- given that Brad Friedel is second best with 64, the Welshman’s importance to Mick McCarthy’s outfit is obvious. You’d have to go back to gameweek 3 for the last time Hennessey recorded a clean sheet but thanks to his save points, he’s the third-top scoring keeper in FPL so far this term.

Yakubu
The Nigerian’s goal was not enough to save Blackburn from defeat but his Fantasy owners will be smiling after he grabbed his tenth goal of the campaign. Rovers fans may be calling for the head of Steve Kean but they cannot deny his purchase of Yakubu was an inspired decision- his 10 goal haul has come from just eleven starts. With away trips to Liverpool and Man United next, his owners won’t be too optimistic over the festive period.

Chris Eagles
The winger’s place in Bolton’s starting XI had seemingly looked assured over the last few months. Eagles had started every one of the Trotters’ fixtures from gameweek 8-15 but he was afforded a forty-five minute sub appearance last week away to Fulham. Last night saw this situation worsen, much to the chagrin of Eagles’ 10.8% of Fantasy owners- not only was he benched, he failed to make an appearance in what was, arguably, Bolton’s most crucial game of the season. The win at bitter rivals Blackburn lifted Bolton off the bottom of the table and given that Martin Petrov, installed in Eagles’ place on the left wing, grabbed an assist, his owners will be anxiously reviewing the situation over the next couple of gameweeks, particularly with a couple of crucial home games up next.

Kevin Davies
Similar to Eagles, his omission from the Bolton side was significant, though Davies has just 4.1% of owners in comparison. Owen Coyle went with David N’Gog alongside Ivan Klasnic, with the latter seemingly an automatic starter when available this term. With a couple of goals all season, compared to Klasnic’s 7, Davies is clearly not the steady Fantasy force he was in seasons gone by and given that he, too, sat on the bench for the entirety of the derby, his game time looked less assured than ever- Davies has completed just six full appearances this season for the Trotters.

Hernandez or Rooney.. This is how i would go about getting either:

    Baines, Ade -> Koscielny, Rooney

Baines, Yakubu -> Hernandez, 4.6 defender

Do neither & just do Baines & Yakubu -> Enrique & Sturridge.. Have Nani as United cover

Harry has a few injury concerns. Gareth and Jermain rated 'doubtful' by Harry, Ledley is '50-50', Aaron is out with his hamstring problem.
Emmanuel Adebayor also has a foot problem, but Harry is more confident he'll be fit. Younes Kaboul returns from a one-match suspension.

would u prefer many coverage for a single team e.g. holy trinity
    or
different coverage from different team? e.g. nani, rvp, sturridge, vdv, adam.....
    talking about front 7

would option 2 provide more differential?

Holy trinity seems to ever changing, and not holy whatsoever - who are you referring to?

Differential is kind of meaningless without referring to specific players, and I guess someone to benchmark against.

Just get in the players you think will score well,

Well I hope Defoe losses his place as an DVD owner, but as a Che fan I want for him to play and Bale to miss. This FF - Fan relation is sometimes pretty confusing

    My team:

    Krul (Vorm)
Baines / Simpson / Jones / Enrique (Naylor)
Bale / Mata / Silva (Walters / Dyer)
    RVP / Ade / Ba

2 free transfers and 1.1 in bank.

Thinking of swapping Baines & Dyer for BAE and Drenthe (gives me a solid team with a good bench and 4 x DGW players).

Any alternative suggestions would be most welcome?! 🙂

Great post regarding the Suarez situation: (From RAWK): What annoys me is the insinuation, which will no doubt now arise, that Liverpool football club and its supporters are now condoning racist remarks and racist and abusive behaviour just by defending Luis Suarez, and that we're only doing all of this because he plays for us.

IF there were witness statements backing up Evra's case and saying that they heard the comments, IF there were video footage of the incident where he openly racially abuses Evra, IF there was audio of the racist remarks, IF the footage had been studied by lip reading experts, IF Evra himself hadn't said Luis Suarez is not a racist, IF the FA had outlined what it was that was said, and IF Luis Suarez himself had admitted to it then I would quite frankly be appalled and state in no uncertain terms that he deserves what he gets. I'd be fine with it, and furthermore I'd state that he's got a job on to save his career and turn this around. I wouldn't be pleased with it AT ALL.

But none of the above exists. None of it. There aren't any other people backing up Evra's claims, that's pretty clear from our statement. There isn't any video or audio evidence. There isn't anything anywhere to suggest there is undeniable evidence that Luis Suarez called Patrice Evra something racist once, let alone "at least 10 times". Patrice Evra didn't even mention it to the ref during the game. He didn't mention it to him when they were both called to the ref and he spoke to the pair, telling them to calm down. He told him after the game, after he'd had time to think, even though he said he was calling him it throughout the game.

Now we have every single paper up and down the land calling Suarez a racist. That's what he is now in the eyes of many, and that's the fault of three people who have now decided what IS racist and what isn't. Those three people have come to a conclusion that others have puzzled over for decades, and they've managed to do so without a shred of proof. They've taken one person's argument, listened to it, then taken another's, listened to it, and decided that they believe one over the other, and that now they don't even have to back that up with some solid proof.

And if you're not happy with that then you condone racism in all its forms. That's what we're doing right now. LFC fans and LFC itself are condoning racism in the eyes of anyone who just wants to see someone hang for it. Just once. Let's make a statement everyone, let's throw the book at someone. Look how tough we are on this. Marvel as we lead the way for the good of football. If you stand in the way of this judgement then you're condoning racism. Definitely not that you just want to see some proof either way, oh no.

It's not quite what it's saying, but the lack of any actual evidence points to the fact that, as it stands, the FA are leaning towards one version of events above another. If the FA release their evidence and I find it satisfactory, Suarez deserves everything he gets. But so far, unlike the Terry case, their is no evidence other than Evra's word for what occurred. Patrice Evra, who has been the boy who cried racism on several occasions before.

no noone is mentioning how bad evra have been this season with regard to past seasons, the only thing that is still kepin him in the united 11 is the fact that the twins are injured

I do think that past behaviour has been brought into question with Suarez. The handball, biting, supposed diving. This is all gamesmanship, which he does to a certain degree. It's far removed from Evra's previous, unfounded accusations levelled several times over the years. However, no one is mentioning this. It seems to me the FA were determined to level a charge, Suarez was guilty and had to be proved innocent. They're now making an example of him. Kant would be spinning in his grave.

I might be wrong, but those people harping on that Suarez has been banned simply on the strength of Evra's word are completely wrong.

Suarez admitted calling Evra a name, which although apparently not intended as racist, was a reference to the colour of his skin.

He was always going to get banned because of that. Most people won't actually think he's a racist, since most will accept that he didn't intend to racially abuse Evra - the fact remains that he did make a comment which constitutes a breach of the laws of the game.

I'm a Liverpool fan, and whilst it's disappointing that he's going to miss a lrage chunk of the season, I don't understand why other fans are so outraged by this. A full statement and breakdown of available evidence hasn't even been released yet.

Apparently the word used was 'negrito.' This word has no racist connotations at all, and is, in fact, a term of endearment. Hence many influential latin Americans having nicknames with 'negrito' in the title, regardless of their race. 'El negrito Jefe' (The Black Chief) being one such affectionate nickname. There's no point fighting ignorance with ignorance, brute force or feigned indifferance. We live in a society of extremely selective moral outrage. Mentioning somebody's race is not in itself racist. But I'm not here to argue semiotics. Until proven otherwise, I support Suarez.

So you're saying you don't believe Suarez used that term, and even if he did it's not racist? Hmmmm.
With most of these things context is everything and the context here was Suarez goading Evra, surely not trying to be matey?

I don't believe he was being racist, or friendly. Fasecious is probably the closest you could get. Whether he used the word or not, It doesn't seem to be a racist term. it's also alleged that Evra said to Suarez, something along the lines of 'Don't touch me you South American.' And to the ref, 'Your'e only booking me because I'm black.' Again, only heresay, but if true, undeniably as serious as Suarez's own alleged offences.

As you say, only hearsay, whereas Suarez has admitted saying what he was accused of. This is the fundamental point that I think your understandable loyalty to your club is blinding you to...
Not looking for a row here, I get very one-eyed when discussing/defending my own club, but I think for the neutral fan this case looks pretty cut and dried.

Whatever the merits of your well stated case, I think you'll find Suarez admitted using the word in question, but denied it had racist connotations. Hence the need for witnesses/corroborating evidence is negated.
By his own admission Suarez used the term negrito, so any debate now is about the rights and wrongs of that. In that sense, your argument falls down a little bit...

Rooney or Adebayor until the DGW? I have 2.9M banked, 2FTs and need to raise 0.1M for a straight swap between the two. Looking at my linked team, where would you find that 0.1M. From chaning Dyer, Brown or Given?

What are people thinking on this topic? My thoughts:

Ade and spurs could tear Norwich a new one.
Hernandez back means Rooney player deeper and returning 2pts again.
I have RVP so dont really need another captain option for GW18 and 19.
2 nailed on CS means doubling with Evans/Jones could be worth it.

    Opinons greatly welcomed.

Yes, I'd say you are right. TFPL's drop chart thingy is useless, constantly showing players who don't play and have very little bearing on transfers in the actual game, hence Pantimilion being on there for months. Fiso for drops, yes.

I don't quite get this "total are accurate with risers and fiso best for drops" thing. TBH, FISO are best for both. They're more accurate on the risers too. They're so accurate that last night Ade was on FISO at 99% and didn't rise. They typically get the risers right to around 1%. I always check total after FISO.

Nice team, mine is near enough the same now but you're obviously doing a lot better than me with your rank.

      Cheers lads (:

Manani - I think Rooney and Ba are all I have to worry about, this could easily go either way.

I'm pretty sure RVP can get at least 7 points tonight 🙂

      Christina :O I'm barely legal.

So 'Arry has now said Bale is "Very doubtful" for the Chelsea game.

I'll have to hope Brown can somehow grab a CS

Sir Charles of Adam coming in for the festive run of games. Rotation proof.

Fancy a bit of Valencia too.

Daniel - Bale/vdv --->Nani/Valencia? Stupid? Or just one of the two?

          Keep Bale, DVD IMO

I would do Baines and Formica to Nani/ Valencia and Jevans/ Jones but after this week i assume. Tough position to be. Lets see the tonight games and ask me again

          Cheers,

Tommy Langley, on Chelsea TV, called AVB "vindictive" for his approach to Alex and Anelka's transfer requests, he's a pundit and ex-player and not a particularly likeable one. He's been sacked. 😀

No, it proves the club wont tolerate a c*nt working in any capacity around the club. AVB is very refreshing, I'm glad there is at least one manager in the prem who doesn't take any BS. To be fair, the Daily Mail is my source, so it could be nonsense, or could have nothing to do with that comment, but he's always making stupid comments so I'm glad he's gone. He can go to talksport with all the other disgraced scumbags.

Yeah, cos you really don't want any free-thinking around your club do you?

Once again, you'd make a lovely fascist.
Whatever the overlords say is great, any dissenting voice must be purged.

          Ps
Banning Alex and Anelka from using the first team carpark is petty and vindictive.

I'm still in shock over the 'the Daily Mail is my source' comment.

Had him down as a Guardian reader.
