[sbu_large_image] The Knee Jerk

And relax. Even before tomorrow night’s top of the bill clash at the Lane, this is no ordinary gameweek. Wednesday’s avalanche of goals and assists left us breathless at times, as United and City ruthlessly exposed opponents who simply looked out of their depth. And yet, as anticipated in yesterday’s preamble, there were cruel barbed surprises packaged amongst the night’s bounty of points.

The goals flowed, with popular Fantasy properties delivering – Nani, Sergio Aguero, Robin Van Persie, Wayne Rooney, Demba Ba – all players that boast huge ownerships throughout the Fantasy games, came good. Incredibly, the defenders also got in on the act: clean sheets for City, United, Liverpool and even Everton, brought profits at the back, on a night of handsome attacking hauls.

For some however, the clean sheets were soiled. The jaw injury sustained by Phil Jones will have robbed many of rewards from United’s win – a potential absence, with early reports already suggesting six weeks – will perhaps hit harder than the points lost. We await news from tomorrow’s x-rays, keeping the knees from jerking until we have confirmation.

The withdrawal of Micah Richards on 58 minutes was even more sickening. Feeling the effects of Dean Whitehead’s studs down his calf, the raiding right-back was preserved by Roberto Mancini, just two minutes from claiming his Fantasy owners a clean sheet from City’s oh-so comfortable win.

Twenty-four hours ago, we discussed such twists. The injustice will be hard to swallow right now, but those who felt the sting of tonight’s events, can be assured that these won’t be the last curveballs thrown. Off to the Lane.

Mark Mark created the beast. He's now looking to tame it.

Looking for a 5th midfielder to replage Ferguson (!). What are the thoughts on Surman? 5 starts in a row would seem to indicate that he is fairly nailed on? Love the 4.3 pricetag, but perhaps a safer option such as Gomez or Moses is the more prudent way to go?

Surman is safe, absolutely do Moses if you can afford the extra what 0.4m.

      facing the same dilemma!!!!
would be wise to spend extra .4m and get verm in....as he has an amazing goal scoring ability!!!
replace someone else in ur squad to get a united cover!!!

Just for the benefit of what seems to be the 10000000 people logging on and having a panic attack about Jones....
Jones is so not playing next GW.
    Evans so is.

most people more concerned with time of injury, if he's out for 1 game only most people will probably keep him

What's the general feeling on the Newcastle defence?

I have Simpson, Krul and Ba and considering reducing my exposure but not sure if this slump is just a temporary blip. Saw Collocini got destroyed by Odemthingy and Long last night.

I'm sure most FF managers have Raylor, Simpson, or Krul. How are you guys feeling about them?

Simpson all i have defensivly and i rotate him. I will keep for now considering his value and hope its a blimp. If i have krul/another i might considering reducing the defensive cover to only one.

Is it time to ditch BA?
He has only 3 games left before he heads to ACON, Bolton (a), Liverpool (a), Man Utd (h)?
    I'm thinking of going Ba+VDV -> Rooney + Walters for a 4 point hit.
Crazy to get rid of VDV when I'll be bringing him back for GW20 bearing in mind his next game is Norwich (a) who haven't kept a clean sheet all season?

Will Rooney score 4+ more points than Ba this weekend. That is the question i am asking myself as well. Both have tasty fixtures and i feel Ba is in better form.

I wouldn't do that ... keep hold of VDV unless he gets injured tonight.

Without seeing the rest of your team, it's hard to know though.

        Team is:
        Westwood/Vorm
        Evans, Walker, Enrique (McCauley, Caulker)
        Nani, Bale, VDV, Silva (Ferguson)
        Sturridge, RVP, Ba
I did Jones-> Evans already and have one more free transfer.

I was delighted to see Ba do so well. People will transfer him in and he is still rising and after Bolton it's Liverpool and United and he is off to ACON.

Sitting on Rooney, Augerio and VP and when Ba is gone that forward line will be the only consistent pick up around with Ade perhaps an exception.

I have VDV and Silva in midfield- would like to get Nani in but not willing to give up either and have Rooney anyway as cover.

Only thing I am thinking is Sturridge in for one of my strikers and I could upgrade Walters to Nani.

no doubt over RVP(C) now, 100% start guarenteed

Given and Mata to Al Habsi and Nani for a four point hit?

Jerkiest my knee has been all year but have no utd attacking coverage and plan on switching Ba to Sturridge in a couple weeks to get some Chelsea attack back.

One of Rooney, Augerio, VP to Sturridge and get in Nani for Walters.

Worth it? If so who would you drop?

    Already have VDV and Silva
