[sbu_large_image] The Knee Jerk

And relax. Even before tomorrow night’s top of the bill clash at the Lane, this is no ordinary gameweek. Wednesday’s avalanche of goals and assists left us breathless at times, as United and City ruthlessly exposed opponents who simply looked out of their depth. And yet, as anticipated in yesterday’s preamble, there were cruel barbed surprises packaged amongst the night’s bounty of points.

The goals flowed, with popular Fantasy properties delivering – Nani, Sergio Aguero, Robin Van Persie, Wayne Rooney, Demba Ba – all players that boast huge ownerships throughout the Fantasy games, came good. Incredibly, the defenders also got in on the act: clean sheets for City, United, Liverpool and even Everton, brought profits at the back, on a night of handsome attacking hauls.

For some however, the clean sheets were soiled. The jaw injury sustained by Phil Jones will have robbed many of rewards from United’s win – a potential absence, with early reports already suggesting six weeks – will perhaps hit harder than the points lost. We await news from tomorrow’s x-rays, keeping the knees from jerking until we have confirmation.

The withdrawal of Micah Richards on 58 minutes was even more sickening. Feeling the effects of Dean Whitehead’s studs down his calf, the raiding right-back was preserved by Roberto Mancini, just two minutes from claiming his Fantasy owners a clean sheet from City’s oh-so comfortable win.

Twenty-four hours ago, we discussed such twists. The injustice will be hard to swallow right now, but those who felt the sting of tonight’s events, can be assured that these won’t be the last curveballs thrown. Off to the Lane.

Mark Mark created the beast. He's now looking to tame it.

Lost on the last post... my conclusions from the GW:

After an impressive draw with Chelsea and a decent one against Liverpool, Wigan are now good at home and might even put a fight up against United next GW.
Both United and City are locked back into early season uber attack mode, invest!
Fulham remain too inconsistent to invest in, even for cheap defenders – don’t touch 3.9 Kelly for now.
They were away and playing the leaders but Stoke’s defending was so bad it makes me reconsider whether to bring Shotton in.
The best-case situation for Jones returning is way too far away and there are too many pressing mids, sell!
The Newcastle defence good times are permanently over, Swansea didn’t score against them last week because they can’t, but West Brom and Norwich have both scored 3. Sell!

If it's a 4 pt hit it's gotta be for the long term as 4pts = 1 CS so a gain is basically impossible.

Evans is a perfect replacement and is nailed on now - go for it if you're keeping him for some games.

I dont know about the Newcastle defence (only got Raylor for now).
You really think that they will concede like mfckers now? After all Swansea conceded 4 from Blackburn, they still have their 8 cs.

(C)ing him is not so mad. Nani's average is high actually, he's both scoring and assisting like mad. He gets 5pts for a goal and will assist more than strikers.

Lost on last page - Ive lost 10 points from Richards & Jones. Lost what should have been 7 + 3BPs for Adam if the penalty went in and now when I was 10 points at the top of my league for MOTM I’m joint top for points with 2 weeks left to go and some surgery to undertake.

    Jones > Evans
    Bale > VDV

    Leaves me with

    Krul Vorm
    RIchards Evans Enrique BAE RTaylor
    Mata VDV Adam Nani ReoCoker
    Morison ADebayor RVP

Need to get silva in – to do that I could take a 4 point hit and swap mata for silva too.
