[sbu_large_image] The Knee Jerk

And relax. Even before tomorrow night’s top of the bill clash at the Lane, this is no ordinary gameweek. Wednesday’s avalanche of goals and assists left us breathless at times, as United and City ruthlessly exposed opponents who simply looked out of their depth. And yet, as anticipated in yesterday’s preamble, there were cruel barbed surprises packaged amongst the night’s bounty of points.

The goals flowed, with popular Fantasy properties delivering – Nani, Sergio Aguero, Robin Van Persie, Wayne Rooney, Demba Ba – all players that boast huge ownerships throughout the Fantasy games, came good. Incredibly, the defenders also got in on the act: clean sheets for City, United, Liverpool and even Everton, brought profits at the back, on a night of handsome attacking hauls.

For some however, the clean sheets were soiled. The jaw injury sustained by Phil Jones will have robbed many of rewards from United’s win – a potential absence, with early reports already suggesting six weeks – will perhaps hit harder than the points lost. We await news from tomorrow’s x-rays, keeping the knees from jerking until we have confirmation.

The withdrawal of Micah Richards on 58 minutes was even more sickening. Feeling the effects of Dean Whitehead’s studs down his calf, the raiding right-back was preserved by Roberto Mancini, just two minutes from claiming his Fantasy owners a clean sheet from City’s oh-so comfortable win.

Twenty-four hours ago, we discussed such twists. The injustice will be hard to swallow right now, but those who felt the sting of tonight’s events, can be assured that these won’t be the last curveballs thrown. Off to the Lane.

Mark Mark created the beast. He's now looking to tame it.

    Hi guys,
What should I do with my team? One FT and 0.3 in the bank:

    A) save transfer, start walters

    B) Smalling in for Jones, bench walters start Smalling

    C) caulker/shotton and valencia in for Jones and walters, bench walters start Smalling (4 point hit)

    D) something else

    Vorm (krul)
    Vermaelen, Evans, Enrique (RTaylor, Jones)
    Nani, bale, silva, walters (surman)
    Rvp, ba, adebayor

What do you think? Thanks again.

    Morning all,

Given that Jones is out for up to 6 weeks i am going to ship him out and bring in Smalling on a free.
But i was wondering would it be worth the 4 point hit to drop walters and bring in Arteta, or would i be better with another option.

    Thanks.

Evans will be there as long as Vidic is injured, probably the rest of the season. Not just depending on Jones's injury and also Ferdinand is injury-prone.Won't score anything but a few cleansheets. He's getting his points from the rest of his defence not cos he can defend!!! See Lindergaard is 4/4 league cleansheets. Might become a regular?!!!

This may have been asked, but is Silva due an assist for Johnson's goal. I think he was the last City player to touch the ball.
And also, who hoofed the ball forward for Sessegon's goal against QPR? No assist seems to have been given for this on FPL as yet and i'm hoping for another 3 points for Wes 'goal poacher' Brown.

      im in the same boat this GW. and my future plan was very similar;
Hate taking a hit for a defender. But both are surely to drop in price.
      Im doing Wilko to Evans
Then wait and see if Jones can hold his price unitl boxing day. Then either Jones for Kompany or Shotton (not sure yet)
Right now Jones needs approx 22,000 Net transfers to drop (Already 3000 today)
Wilko needs 500 to drop. (143 today)

Morning guys, it is time to say goodbye to Baines. Team is:

    Vorm
    Vermaelen - Baines - Enrique
    Walters - Silva - VDV - Drenthe
    VP - Adebayor - Ba

Subs : Ruddy - Caulker, Simpson, Gower
    2FT & 1.4M on my savings

As far as I can see it I have 3 options:
    1) Baines, Walters out -> Evans, Nani in
    2) Baines, Gower out -> Evans, Valencia in
    3) Baines , Ba out -> 4.2 DF, Rooney in (probably GW19)

I really don't like to kick out Walters with his fixtures but prefer Nani over Valencia. Option 1 and 2 give me a chance to replace Ba by Sturridge in GW19.

What do you think is the best option. Or any possibilities out there? Thx.

"Bonus points will be awarded on the Monday morning after the weekend matches are played. Any matches played on a weekday night will be awarded on the following morning"

This would indicate that bonuses should be up today but Tuesday nights matches still are not up so not sure whats going on.

Keep Ba for Bolton away or bring in Rooney for Wigan at home? 4pt hit.

I swapped them and captained Rooney. Not for next gameweek fixtures, cos United are hitting some form, Rooney is better and won't be missing in a few weeks.
