[sbu_large_image] The Knee Jerk

And relax. Even before tomorrow night’s top of the bill clash at the Lane, this is no ordinary gameweek. Wednesday’s avalanche of goals and assists left us breathless at times, as United and City ruthlessly exposed opponents who simply looked out of their depth. And yet, as anticipated in yesterday’s preamble, there were cruel barbed surprises packaged amongst the night’s bounty of points.

The goals flowed, with popular Fantasy properties delivering – Nani, Sergio Aguero, Robin Van Persie, Wayne Rooney, Demba Ba – all players that boast huge ownerships throughout the Fantasy games, came good. Incredibly, the defenders also got in on the act: clean sheets for City, United, Liverpool and even Everton, brought profits at the back, on a night of handsome attacking hauls.

For some however, the clean sheets were soiled. The jaw injury sustained by Phil Jones will have robbed many of rewards from United’s win – a potential absence, with early reports already suggesting six weeks – will perhaps hit harder than the points lost. We await news from tomorrow’s x-rays, keeping the knees from jerking until we have confirmation.

The withdrawal of Micah Richards on 58 minutes was even more sickening. Feeling the effects of Dean Whitehead’s studs down his calf, the raiding right-back was preserved by Roberto Mancini, just two minutes from claiming his Fantasy owners a clean sheet from City’s oh-so comfortable win.

Twenty-four hours ago, we discussed such twists. The injustice will be hard to swallow right now, but those who felt the sting of tonight’s events, can be assured that these won’t be the last curveballs thrown. Off to the Lane.

Mark Mark created the beast. He's now looking to tame it.

None. Nani might not even start the next game. All those players have decent fixtures.

Probably the worse thing I don’t is
Silva to Nani , but that was the only
      way to bring him in. I’m keeping Mata;
2 home juicy fixtures in a row as well
as Walters. However, you should do
Vdv to Nani and bring him bak for the

I'd do it. Have absolutely no idea how you ended up with 3 Everton players from the beginning, but it's likely to me that move will pay off. Would probably wait if I were you though, I think this is a problematic time of the season to chase price rises.

I'm looking at what I can do with Baines/Long & maybe Silva in my team.

Baines is a player I like and he's good... but I don't particularly want him, it seems. The fact my main rival has him also makes him fairly uninteresting to me, especially as he costs me so damn much.

I like him too, and for the double he is a tasty option but I'd much rather have that money invested in another striker than Long.

Long is a pretty good player btw, shame so many other forwards are actually scoring much better in FPL:

Praying for an Everton penalty in the next two weeks, or else I'll probably massively regret not doing this.

If I could afford Baines > Evans and B. Johnson > Nani, then I'd do it in a flash, but I unfortunately can't and I'm not overly keen on losing any of my other midfielders.

Defo keep VDV based on the fixtures.
I've had Silva from GW1 and don't see the logic in removing him
Mata would be more likely altough with 2 home games after Spurs not yet.
I have Walters who is consistent and another 2 home games but Nani over Walters of course if you can afford him.

Lindegaard is quality no.2, no doubt, but Dave G is the main man.

          Fair enough.

Anyway AP - shouldn't Smalling be a steal now? As long as Jones and Vidic is out I'd imagine that he'd play pretty much all the time? Now with Rio a short term doubt too he's looking great to me at 5.3. The 1m I gain for getting him for Jones will be useful in midfield.

All sorts of crazy transfer activity going through my head, even considering a crazy 8 point hit that could really bite me in the arse and includes not replacing an injured player I have ..

Jones, Baines, Yakubu & Ade -> Evans, Enrique, Sturridge & Rooney..

Really think it would pay off, I'd do Rooney -> Ade & Enrique -> Baines for gwk 20 when both Rooney & Enrique have away games (newc & man city)

Just going around in circles? feel i can maximise the points this way, madness?

If Jones is out it could be a very sound plan if you are sure you can come back to Ade and Baines.

DONE. Ugh, feels soo wrong getting rid of them two.

He'd be a good bench warmer but you'll lose money from him when his price plummets

FFS community. Without sounding too much of a prick, I'd just like to say a massive thank you!

Incredibly happy I resisted the urge to do Brown > Evans this week with my only freebie, cheers to all those who advised me to stick the other day and there were lots of you. Although I would have ended up only 1 point worse off, I now have 2 freebies to play with this week.

Any chance of Bonus for Brown? He has done well with PPI in the past. Sorry for pushing it 😛

Why are people saying don't ditch VDV for Nani?

Nani is going to score more points than VDV over the next 2 weeks and he can always be brought back in for the DGW

I hadn't considered losing VDV for Nani. It was between Silva or Mata for me, i went with Silva.

      Nah, VDV is the best!

I always said that Nani was magical while people were randomly taking him out for silly players like Young and look at him go now!

VDV is just the same! Watch him shine over the next few weeks.
