Just as Jason Lowe has cemented himself as the Suspension Tightrope poster boy in the last few months, referee Mike Dean is fast becoming his equivalent for the Men in Black column. The Wirral-based official was once again in the headlines, with a flurry of cards and couple of spot-kicks in Sunday’s ill-tempered showdown at the Sports Direct Arena.

Not content with six cautions inside the first 25 minutes of the Tyne-Wear derby, the action packed game eventually finished with Dean showing nine yellow cards and two straight reds for the visitors, in addition to the anticipated penalty.

Fantasy favourite Stéphane Sessègnon was the first to receive his marching orders; the Benin international was dismissed for striking Newcastle’s Chieck Tioté and will now begin a three-match suspension, ruling him out of the upcoming league matches against Liverpool and Blackburn, as well as the FA Cup tie with Everton. Sessegnon will be available for the Gameweek 30 home clash against QPR.

Black Cats skipper Lee Cattermole is out for even longer, though, with the club confirming earlier today he is set to serve a four-match suspension. Cattermole went into yesterday’s game sitting on nine bookings and his first-minute minute caution for a foul on Tioté meant he was due to receive a two-match suspension for accruing 10 yellows. After the final whistle, however, the combative midfielder picked up a straight red card for foul and abusive language towards Dean, earning himself another automatic two-match ban. Cattermole will now miss the league games against Liverpool, Blackburn and QPR, in addition to the Everton FA Cup game, and will be available for selection for the Gameweek 31 trip to Man City.

While many may feel Cattermole’s absence could affect the Black Cats resilience, a look at the stats since Martin O’Neill’s arrival perhaps indicates otherwise. Sunderland have played eight games with Cattermole in the starting line-up, returning 2 clean sheets and conceding 10 goals, while in the five games he has missed for the new manager, the Wearsiders have returned 2 clean sheets and conceded 4 goals, with Jack Colback proving a more than able deputy.

Also troubling the FA disciplinary section this weekend was Swansea midfielder Nathan Dyer. The winger’s studs up challenge on Jordi Gomez was deemed worthy of a straight red card by referee Andre Marriner, meaning that Dyer will now miss home games against Man City and Everton and the trip to in-form Fulham. With the club confirming they will not be appealing the decision earlier this afternoon, Dyer’s absence should afford Wayne Routledge a fresh chance to add to his Premier League minutes over the next few matches.

GAMEWEEK 28 BANS

  • Nathan Dyer (SWA) – 1 Red for serious foul play (first of 3 matches)
  • Lee Cattermole (SUN) – 1 Yellow takes season tally to 10 bookings. 1 red for foul and abusive language (first of 4 matches)
  • Stéphane Sessègnon (SUN) – 1 Red for violent conduct (first of 3 matches)

OK - fwiw. I am going to do my 8 point hit tonight.

    1) If Rooney rises twice before Thursday, I will have to do it then anyway.
    2) Sessegnon is on the Highway to Hell, -35,765 so far today, and will fall twice before Thursday.
    3) Surman, while not urgent, is nonetheless picking up pace.
    4) I will now, with United's fixtures, have Rooney 'til the end.
    5) I have adequate forward cover in Adebayor and van Persie. If Robin gets injured, we are all fecked.

Can anybody advise who rotates best with Krul for the run in? Currently got Lindy but with De Gea seemingly cementing his #1 place and with 1 free transfer left I am thinking that this is the week to swap out Lindy, but for who? Lindy's transfer value is 4.3 and I have 0.3 in the bank. Mignolet, Bogden, Begovic are the obvious candidates, or I could take a hit for Reina (DGW) by downgrading Aguero.

    REPOST for Steady. Please reply.

Do you care to read my extended RMWCT post?

    Schwarzer-Mignolet
    Caulker-Evans-BAE-Skrtel-McAuley
    Dempsey-Bale-Silva-Sigurdsson-Miyaichi
    Rooney-RVP-Holt

Holt at home to Wigan is a one week punt, before straight swap to Odemwingie!!!

Goalkeepers:Schwarzer and Mignolet rotates very well. Schwarzer is the goalie of the form team in PL and Mignolet is standing behind a tight defense too.

Defenders:Evans,BAE,Skrtel is the best defenders to have from Spurs,’Pool,an United IMO. McAuley and Caulker are both cheap defenders who are capable of cleanies and some rare attacking points too.

Midfielders:Dempsey,Bale,Silva will ofc be my weekly starters. Sigurdsson and Miyaichi rotates very well for the last mid spot. Sigurdsson has proven his abilites and is a very good fantasy prospect. Miyaichi is a punt and has been in good form lately and Bolton’s fixtures is now becoming very good. + they will be working hard to not get relegated.

Forwards:RVP,Rooney,Odemwingie is the best three strikers to have IMO. RVP and Rooney, you don’t need to say more. WBA and Odem are in great form and their fixtures looks enticing and they are scoring lots of goals.

Your earlier respnses to me has been great so any opinions if you have the time?

    Is it good?

Cheers. I think I know the answer to this but if you pay for transfers and then play the WC later on before the deadline do the original transfers become free, or have you paid for them already?

That's a possibility. Not sure who I'd want that I could afford though. At least two of them would have to be midfielders, and there's no value there.

If I could manage that I would, but all the transfers you suggest cost more than the players I would be replacing! Maybe Aguero -> Suarez could allow me one of the defenders though.

    Hi Folks help needed
is it worth taking a 4 point hit to transfer Sess to Miyachi so i can upgrade Santon to Skrtel? I dont have any other Liverpool player? Also have WC to use but want to hold onto it . . .
    Thanks for any help...

I made my transfers in the early hours of the morning to avoid any potential price rises, and would greatly appreciate some helpful feedback regarding my starting eleven choices. My team for GW28, is as follows:

    Vorm

    Enrique, Kompany, Cahill
    McClean, Pilkington, Bale, Silva
    Pogrebnyak, Rooney(vc), RvP(c)

    subs: Krul, Shawcross, Simpson, Walters

Can someone criticise my starting eleven, and offer any tips?

Nani was not very good yesterday, will be interesting to see how Fergie keeps Nani happy, yet displacing an "in-form" Young. I would steer clear of Nani/Young and Valencia for a week or two and see how that plays out, if Nani and Young play on Thursday night for instance, one of them is going to be rotated for West Brom (If Valencia is fit).

That being said, I don't think Walcott is a viable alternative, just too streaky BUT he is picking up some form, so not that worst.

Not sure what to do now. My plan was to take a 4pter and do:

    Aguero -> Rooney
    Richards + Senderos/Kelly -> Enrique + Skrtel
(I have a fair bit in the bank)

but the Sess situation has thrown a spanner in the works. Doubts over Bale mean I don't want t carry Sess.

Annoyingly I'm 0.1 short of doing:
Aguero, Richards, Sess -> Rooney, Enrique, Nani

So what should I do? Get Adam in for Sess? Get Young in for Sess?

    Any ideas?
