Steven Gerrard and Luis Suarez miss out as Kenny Dalglish rests and rotates at Blackburn. Maxi Rodriguez and Andy Carroll are the main protagonists as the visitors return to winning ways, while Yakubu grabs a double for Rovers to take his season tally to 16…

Liverpool Rotation
With a weekend FA Cup Semi-Final to consider, Kenny Dalglish followed on from Harry Redknapp and David Moyes’ Monday selection policy by resting many of his main men for the trip to Ewood Park. It proved to be a hugely frustrating night for many Fantasy managers as the Reds returned to winning ways ahead of the Everton showdown. Steven Gerrard missed out altogether, Jose Enrique was handed a brief second half sub role for a single point return, while Luis Suarez warmed the away bench for the entire 90 minutes – ironically, their absence saw the Reds win on the road for the first time since Gameweek 23 at Wolves. Glen Johnson and Daniel Agger were given 52 and 38 minutes respectively as they continue their injury comebacks, with Dalglish revealing post-match that the pair came through the game without any problems.

Liverpool Goalkeepers
Doni’s time between the posts as Dalglish’s number one didn’t last long. With Pepe Reina suspended, the Brazilian started against Villa and Blackburn but his dismissal means he is now out of the FA Cup Semi-Final with Everton after receiving a one-match suspension. Although Brad Jones will fill in at Wembley, the Merseyside clash is the last of Reina’s three-game ban, meaning the Spaniard will return for Liverpool’s next league match, a home clash with West Brom in Gameweek 35.

Maxi Rodriguez
The Argentine has rarely featured under Dalglish this season – last night was just his eighth appearance of the campaign. Afforded a midfield starting role, Maxi bagged a double to take his tally to four in six starts – Stewart Downing, Jordan Henderson and Charlie Adam have a combined return of three goals from 78 starts, in comparison. With the Reds struggling to find the net, it’s all the more perplexing that Maxi hasn’t featured since Gameweek 22; if his side prevail at Wembley this weekend, perhaps the 7.0 priced midfielder may see more game time over the rest of the season if Dalglish maintains his rotation policy.

Daniel Agger
Eased back into action after a rib injury, the Dane climbed off the bench to make a significant contribution for the second consecutive Gameweek. Having provided an assist for Luis Suarez against Villa last weekend, Agger set up Andy Carroll for the visitors’ late winner, nodding on for the forward to head past Paul Robinson in the home goal. With the double Gameweek 36 to factor in, Agger – with a mere 2.2% ownership – could prove to be a decent differential over the rest of the campaign.

Andy Carroll
It took Fernando Torres until Gameweek 31 to pick up his first double figure return this season – his Anfield replacement will break his own personal duck if he picks up a single bonus point on Thursday morning. The former Newcastle man is currently sitting on nine points, with a goal and assist in last night’s five-goal thriller surely set to bring Carroll bonus. With nine points accumulated over the previous eight Gameweeks, his 1.9% ownership even seems generous after a dire Fantasy campaign.

Yakubu
Prior to last night, Blackburn had lost only one game the Nigerian had notched in – back in Gameweek 17 at home to Bolton. Despite bagging a brace against Liverpool, a missed spot-kick proved costly for both Rovers and his Fantasy owners; a 3-2 defeat kept Steve Kean’s side in the bottom three, while Yakubu was deducted a couple of points for a woeful spot-kick. His goal tally has now climbed to 16 for the campaign; only Robin Van Persie, Wayne Rooney and Sergio Aguero have scored more than the 6.0 priced forward. With Swansea, Norwich and Wigan in the final five fixtures, Yakubu looks likely to get amongst the goals again before the season is out.

I have 11 for 34 and can have 11 for 36 using my w/c. Undecided if I should get rid of RVP/Roo/Valencia for DGw players!

Things will change quite a bit between now and GW36, depending on whether the title race is over, Champions League places are sealed, and who is in the FA Cup final. I've drawn up a list but I'm quite sure I'll only know after GW35.

If the title is over then perhaps Roo & Valencia might be rested a bit. RVP will still have a fight for 3rd place so will still play a big part, especially with sto NOR wba all of whom have nothing to play for.

One expert told the BBC the Wednesday quake as a "strike-slip" fault, meaning a more horizontal shift of the ground under the sea as opposed to a sudden vertical shift, and less risk of a large displacement of water triggering a tsunami.

Hopefully people are better prepared for a tsunami now, and that if there is one it won't be as big..

I have 9 players for GW34. Is it worth taking an 8 point hit for two extra defenders? Will probably be getting in Turner and an Arsenal defender for Shotton and BAE. I have too much value to lose with Cisse and Dempsey so don't want to take a hit for an outfield player. I still have my wildcard so that'll be used to fix my team for GW36.

    Repost Ideas on my team

    Krul (Vorm)
    Evans Turner (Shawcross Senderos Simpson)
    Valencia Siggy Walcott (Bale Dempsey)
    Rooney RVP Graham

    2 FT, 2.0 in bank

Best choice? Is it worth spending the 2 FTs for 11?

    a) Senderos > GW34 defender
    b) Bale > Sess
    c) both
    d) something else

Very close in mini league & 2 FTs next week seems better.

    Thanks in advance.

I don't like the way in which Mancini constantly rotates his full backs, surely he should have at least one full-back that plays the majority of games like most of the other top teams in Europe.

Not to mention how frustrating it is for all of us here! ;p

Quick vote guys....morning by the way:

Regarding the coming GW, should I:

    a) Save the transfer a play just 8
    b) Carry out 1 transfer and play 9
    c) Carry out 2 transfer and play 10 at the cost of 4 points
    d) Carry out 3 transfer and play 11 at the cost of 8 points

Is gw 34 as important as gw36?!?!

You can't sell Cisse or Dempsey considering their fixtures for GW35, and I dont think its worth taking hits for defenders. Maybe Enrique for an Arsenal defender?

Consider getting Enrique out for Turner so that I can field a full 11 next GW.

But Sunderland have looked a bit shaky recently - is this a good transfer? Will I want to keep him after next week? Or should I just field 10 players and make a different transfer the week after?

Which option should I take to give me 10 players for GW 34…

    1) Miyaichi -> McClean, keep Bale. This would give me McClean for GW 34, and Bale for GW 35 and DGW 36.

Bale's last goal was 10 gameweeks ago, no matter what the opposition. I'd rather have someone like Sessegnon who is in form. I'd love to see Bale scoring again, but he's been such a waste of space and money these days.

Can you really only have one? It depends what you want to rely on - Bale has the best fixtures but Spurs are not in the best form - he has been unlucky several times though. Pienaar should play both if Everton progress because he is cup-tied and both he and Everton are in good form. HBA is in a team in form but doesn't have the easiest fixtures.

Personally I am looking at Bale and Pienaar but like Fratboy said - I think they will all score well.

This week my bench is Miyaichi (1) and Cahill (1) with McAuley (mci) to play, and 2 of my team have been rested.

my opinion but city have 2 games in 4 days and an early kick off v norwich away on saturday. you'd expect aguero to rested after being non-existent v arsenal.

You only have 8 players. Players to look at selling : Kelly, Bale, Miyiachi, Pog. Players like Sess, most defenders & a cheap striker can take their spots.

I'm not really a fan of the pog - but that's just my opinion, I know it sounds knee jerky but you could take a punt on Yakubu (or dare i say it Bendtner) considering you have 2 frees, meaning if the Yak does fail you still have the opportunity to recover and get in a double gameweek striker.

I imagine your playing a 4-4-2 so it looks perfect, although I would be a bit wary of Valencia because he could be rotated with Nani returning and the title looking very much in the bag.
