This Gameweek has proven to be a big headache for the Scout Committee team, and with a limited pool of talent to choose from, we’ve had to dig deep to fish out three worthy “Differential” selections for you. We’ve ended up with an Austrian, a Spaniard and a Serb. Stop me if you’ve heard this one before…

Andreas Weimann

Aston Villa have arguably the toughest fixture of any of the teams playing this weekend with a trip to Old Trafford on the agenda but we’re thinking ahead here, boxing clever. While returns are likely to be limited on Sunday afternoon, Weimann should be considered as a worthy option – Villa’s double Gameweek 35 means they play three times when every other team plays just once or twice, introducing an interesting strategy for navigating the next three Gameweeks. The paradox of fielding a full XI this week is that you end up with less players with a double Gameweek 36, but by using players from Bolton and Aston Villa, you can boost the number of matches in Gameweek 35 and gain an extra fixture without taking a points hit.

Obviously this strategy only comes good if Weimann plays every game and in that respect, it’s a risky choice. All the signs stack up in the Austrian’s favour however; he managed his first 90 minute run out last time out and Alex Mcleish has been raving about him in the press following his wonder goal against Stoke. Villa look all but safe from relegation and have little left to play for and, considering his main rival in the side – Emile Heskey – is unlikely to earn a new contract in the summer, you’d have to bet on the youngster getting his chance over the remaining games.

Fixtures and rotation risks aside, Weimann looks a real prospect. That’s two goals in the last five Gameweeks now, which is already more than Heskey has managed all season. Priced at 5.0 he can fit any budget, and with less than 1000 owners at the time of writing, he is currently a proud member of the 0.0% club. With United likely to be jittery following the Wigan defeat, the young Austrian’s fearless approach may just trouble them.

Aleksandar Kolarov

While Weimann is a pick that could come good once the Gameweek has passed, Aleksandar Kolarov is the opposite – a potential one-hit wonder who could possibly pay off big this weekend for those willing to take the punt. The Serbian is notorious around these parts for letting us down when we throw his name into the ring, so this one comes with a health warning. Even so, if Roberto Mancini chooses to rotate Gael Clichy and hand Kolarov an outing at Carrow Road, the formbook says he’ll make an impact.

Kolarov has notched a goal and three assists in his last two league starts – admittedly they were home matches but, in a Gameweek where clean sheets could be a scarcity, Kolarov has attacking potential that few defenders can rival based on form over recent outings. With just 0.8% ownership, if you take temporary membership to the Kolorov fan club (Mark is still the chairman, secretary and treasurer) then it could pay dividends at a time when gambles could be the order of the day.

Mikel Arteta

While Theo Walcott hoovers up transfers, his Spanish team-mate has quietly and efficiently blinked on the radar of late thanks to some outstanding home form. Two goals in his last two Emirates encounters, with maximum bonus thrown in, bodes well for Arteta. He has also amassed his most impressive performances stats over the past four Gameweeks – our members can dip and see for themselves how he compares to the field right now. In a nutshell, then, Arteta is in his best form of the season, just in time for luckless Wigan to arrive in his backyard.

The smart money will be on Robin Van Persie and Theo Walcott to help themselves to further attacking returns but playmaker Arteta, with just 4.8% ownership, looks an ideal option for those seeking something a little different, with form to back it up.

I would definitely captain Sess if I was sure that Bendy would start. Sess doesn't seem to be involved in anything when he plays as a striker.

Bendy will start from the sounds of it. If I was playing catchup I think I'd (c) Sess. As it is my ML lead is only 32 points, so I'm going with one of the big guns.

i gained just .2 on bale and .1 on cisse so i was thinking maybe i could get them back easily, or just use my wildcard for week 36.. I'm leading my mini league by about 40 points and most of my rivals have 10 or 11 players this week, so this might be crucial for me if i keep the players at a minimum

    anybody please

i need to come up with a serious transfer plan

my head to head rival is 2 pts behind me going into our 2nd leg match in qtr finals

i have 8 players and he has 10 plus he did 1 transfer to field 11players(i assume), and i’m pretty sure i’ve worked out what his transfer is, he has my exact 8 players plus kompany, graham, and pretty sure he has bought vermalen

    so my team

    vorm (begovic)
    evans
    valencia mcclean walcott siggy
    rvp rooney
    (baines, enrique, bae, kelly, cisse)

what to do guys – i was thinking enrique to vermalen and cisse to bendy

so that would leave me having bentner to his kompany, graham + 2

i’d have to hope norwich score

Ignore your rival, how are you supposed to guess his every move? 2 points isn't really a comfortable lead, do what you think will get you points. Your transfers look good for this week, but I would like you to keep Cisse. Get Vermaelen for Enrique and Turner for Kelly imo.

Miyachi is the quandry at the moment. Perfect for a double double but wont be if he is not in the team. Coyle bigging him up then not playing him. Tricky (especially if you have him already and thinking of selling)

Tricky indeed. I don't know what I'd do in that situation other than look for hints from Coyle. Personally I think it's unlikely he will start all four.

That last article about GW34 midfielders is very interesting. I think me and Mark are on the same page. Siggy is all you need and if you have McClean then well done. 8 players for me this weekend

Perhaps, but a significant point ignored in the article is the fixtures for these guys in GW34 and onwards. 11 for me this week - need to build a lead as no doubt it will go once these extra DGWers come in for others in GW36!

Is Kompany -> Vermaelen worthwile this week? Alternative is to roll forward the free transfer to get another DGWer in GW36. So, the question is

    a) Do it
    b) Save it

    Migs
    JEvans, Kompany, Caulker, Turner
    Walcott, Sessegnon, Valencia, Siggy
    RVP, Rooney

    Bogdan, P Cisse, Dempsey, Skrtel

Posted this at the end of the last threat, but here are the stats on Tevez since his return:

        5 appearances, 141 minutes, 4 shots, 2 on target, 1 goal, 1 assist, 12 key passes.

Those are pretty good figures bearing in mind his limited playing time.

They are, I'm just not sure of

          a) his gametime being limited still and
          b) whether he offers anything more than Aguero (who is cheaper)

A flair pick if ever there was one though!

On b), he probably doesn't, but with Dzeko and Balo being sidelined I think he will get more gametime, and he has less of a bias towards only earning points at home compared to Aguero
