From desperation comes inspiration. If, as Sir Alex intimated, Roberto Mancini’s decision to allow Carlos Tevez back into the fold at Man City really was a last-ditch attempt to revive fortunes, there’s little doubt that it’s had the desired affect. Ferguson will be fidgeting uncomfortably having watched Tevez almost single handedly turn City back into a goal machine in the last two matches, knowing that they’re on a collision course on April 30.

For Fantasy managers, today’s hat-trick, capped with a cheeky assist for the revived Sergio Aguero, offered a stark reminder of the scoring power that Tevez brings. He started the season as a 12.0 player in the Fantasy Premier League (FPL) game, having fired 21 goals and six assists last term – Tevez was and still is a Fantasy heavy-hitter.

Norwich felt the full force this afternoon as the Argentine inspired City, having re-ignited Mancini’s side in midweek in the 4-0 win over West Brom. Suddenly, having recently struggled for a cutting edge, particularly away from home, City are a free flowing attacking force once again. Aguero’s brace of goals today were his first league strikes away from the Etihad since that win at Old Trafford. With four in two matches, he’s now firmly back on the radar and could upset what looked like an established front three template of Van Persie/Rooney/Cisse for the remaining Gameweeks.

Arguably Tevez makes a bigger claim for our attention. We took a punt on him over Aguero in the Scout Picks having seen his statistics and form in his recent cameos and knowing his quality home and away. Tevez has come back and, once again, looked like scoring and setting up goals: today that came to fruition.

The Fantasy prospects of both Tevez and Aguero now, ironically, rest with United and the title race. A slip against Villa tomorrow looks unlikely but with City flexing their muscles in such intimidating style, the pressure on United has increased. Realistically, City will go to a beleaguered Wolves next weekend hoping that a stubborn Everton side can recover from today’s FA Cup disappointment and provide an awkward obstacle at Old Trafford. Then it’s all down to the clash at the Etihad that follows.

City need to stay in touch for Fantasy managers to invest with confidence – to sacrifice a double Gameweek transfer for either Tevez or Aguero for the Gameweek 36 trip to Molineux would be a brave move – a break from the best laid plans. However, as today demonstrated, Aguero’s form has moved up a gear and the talent of Tevez looks to have been the catalyst. Together they could yet play a major part in our Fantasy seasons and a title race which appears to be far from over.

Mark Mark created the beast. He's now looking to tame it.

          exactly my dilemma!

probably starting ryo over sess, but my other option is to play neither and play valencia instead (so sell Ryo instead of planned Valencia sale) 😛

Now while third option might sound reasonable, i dont have much trust in valencia against everton, he seems a bit off-form, i'll be absolutely watching him closely against Villa tomorrow.

So, Im massively confused for the next GW..

Desperately need Dempsey, and no City attack either...

As well as not being sure who to bench??
    Currently , Caulker, Richards, Sessegnon!!

    Bogdan
    Evans-Cuellar-Skrtel
    Valencia-Walcott-Siggy-Bale
    Rooney-RVP-Cisse

    What to do??
    Valencia/Walcott/Bale to Dempsey?

don't get rid of bale imo, not sure it would be worth a bit to get dempsey over walcott/valencia. tough choice tho.

Bringing in City players this week wasn't so bad in the end then! Problem is I haven't really planned too much for GW36 so now I'm in a position where I still want to make 5 transfers (no extra freebies) over the next 2 weeks.

Depending on how many points I'm behind this week will depend on what I do I guess.

Suppose everyone else has planned miles in advance? 🙂

Nope i'm with you. Had Ade in for the DGW but scrapped him for Aguero this week with Citeh looking so good. I still want to have 5 or 6 DGW'ers in so i'll be probably making 2 trannies this week and 3 next. But I see a lot of rotation risk and off form teams with doubles so part of me is still saying why bother....

The players that are playing doubles are too good to turn down, even if they are slight risks. It's worth it if you're chasing! Probably even if you're leading

Its 50-50 for me. Spurs and Pool horribly off form. Chelsea have so many fixtures. Fulhams double is tough. I'm leaning towards Everton and Newcastle personally as the leagues form teams, probably Cisse and HBA in this week and Baines and Peinaar or Jelevic the next.

          Or something.

Nothing just really screams at me at the moment. Not like City did last week.

2/4 of my blank players this week are unwanted for the doubles. I am considering a 16 point hit over the next two weeks 😯

    My proposed transfers are:

    GW35 (2FT)
    Rooney to Weimann
    McClean to Dempsey
    Shotton to BAE

    GW36
    Weimann to Cisse
    Walcott to Bale
    Valencia to Pienaar
    Kolarov to Huth

    Leaves me

    Krul
    Baines, BAE, Huth
    Pienaar, Bale, Dempsey, Siggy
    RVP, Tevez, Cisse

    Vorm, Ryo, Verm, Evans

    8 DGWers GW36 plus Weimann GW35.

        B. Any points gained can justify the 4 point.

    @Milanista @ Parm

If I proceed with my 4 pointer as planned I will be left with this team for GW35

    Mingolet

    Verm, Evans, Kolarov

    Dempsey, Siggy, Walcott, Bale

    RvP, Cisse, Tevez (c)

    Friedel, Santon, Caulker, McClean

Can then go -8 as planned in 36

Evans, Kolarov and Tevez to Baines, Huth and Jelavic.

Thanks - but I always poo-poo people who eye ranks in mid-week, as they really represent nothing. I've been knocking around 1K for a few weeks now and expect/hope to remain thereabouts come gameweek's end.

Week 36 will write the story of this FPL year, I reckon.

If you check my history you'll see I never really do well, but I try to never really do poorly. I figure as long as I can hit around 50-55 per week, on average, then I'll progress. The theory has served me well this year.

But there are lots of top 1Kers around FFS, my personal hero being Greghammer, he's top 250 or something, before this week started. A few double-digiters, as well.

Ahh yeah, impressive consistent rises though 🙂

I've learnt a lot this year, last year I hardly really played and got more serious this season. Obviously a fair amount of luck involved but tactics do play a huge part too.

Ahh I remember seeing the actual winner of FF last season on here a few weeks ago, not sure what position he's in now but it's crazy. I'm just aiming for the top 1k really as my goal.
