[sbu_large_image] The Knee Jerk

From desperation comes inspiration. If, as Sir Alex intimated, Roberto Mancini’s decision to allow Carlos Tevez back into the fold at Man City really was a last-ditch attempt to revive fortunes, there’s little doubt that it’s had the desired affect. Ferguson will be fidgeting uncomfortably having watched Tevez almost single handedly turn City back into a goal machine in the last two matches, knowing that they’re on a collision course on April 30.

For Fantasy managers, today’s hat-trick, capped with a cheeky assist for the revived Sergio Aguero, offered a stark reminder of the scoring power that Tevez brings. He started the season as a 12.0 player in the Fantasy Premier League (FPL) game, having fired 21 goals and six assists last term – Tevez was and still is a Fantasy heavy-hitter.

Norwich felt the full force this afternoon as the Argentine inspired City, having re-ignited Mancini’s side in midweek in the 4-0 win over West Brom. Suddenly, having recently struggled for a cutting edge, particularly away from home, City are a free flowing attacking force once again. Aguero’s brace of goals today were his first league strikes away from the Etihad since that win at Old Trafford. With four in two matches, he’s now firmly back on the radar and could upset what looked like an established front three template of Van Persie/Rooney/Cisse for the remaining Gameweeks.

Arguably Tevez makes a bigger claim for our attention. We took a punt on him over Aguero in the Scout Picks having seen his statistics and form in his recent cameos and knowing his quality home and away. Tevez has come back and, once again, looked like scoring and setting up goals: today that came to fruition.

The Fantasy prospects of both Tevez and Aguero now, ironically, rest with United and the title race. A slip against Villa tomorrow looks unlikely but with City flexing their muscles in such intimidating style, the pressure on United has increased. Realistically, City will go to a beleaguered Wolves next weekend hoping that a stubborn Everton side can recover from today’s FA Cup disappointment and provide an awkward obstacle at Old Trafford. Then it’s all down to the clash at the Etihad that follows.

City need to stay in touch for Fantasy managers to invest with confidence – to sacrifice a double Gameweek transfer for either Tevez or Aguero for the Gameweek 36 trip to Molineux would be a brave move – a break from the best laid plans. However, as today demonstrated, Aguero’s form has moved up a gear and the talent of Tevez looks to have been the catalyst. Together they could yet play a major part in our Fantasy seasons and a title race which appears to be far from over.

Mark Mark created the beast. He's now looking to tame it.

If they continue what they are now,not worth.
Siggy n Session both have descent GW 36.so,not worth a hit for other players.

Never a gud idea to make early transfers.
what if anyone get injured /suspended in next matches.
Waiting patiently to finish the Gameweek.

I'd suggest the other way round as Tevez needs to now maximise game time to get fully match fit for Utd game. Saying that I think they'll both start and perhaps Silva will be given some more rest more Utd, with Yaya and Nasri playing full game.

Now it comes down to my captain rooney v his RVP. I really need a bit of a lead before GW36 as he will pull out his wildcard.

Okay quite simply a one week punt to bring in Tevez or Aguero and give them the arm band for a game against Wolves is worth it, 4pt hit or not.

Just take yesterday as an example. You'd walk away with 32 or 20 ( both pre baps). Next up the worst team in the league.

Rooney vs Everton does not appeal. He should be first to go if you have RVP & Cisse.

I would go for Tevez but have to go for Aguero as have just worked out my biggest rival has just got him in. Being 50pts ahead I can't take the risk.

Don't consider this knee jerking at all. Just the correct transfer to make. Aguero's last two scores prove that.

If its only a one week punt, it makes it a 8 point hit. So it comes down to rooney + 8 pts ( v EVE) or Tevez/ Aguero (v wol). If you are going to captain him. It will still probably be worth it.

I think if I do it, I would keep him until the title race is over, thus missing out on a DGW player.

Agreed and fair points. So keep til end of the season and save 4pts but loose out on DGW player. Tevez vs Utd will out score Rooney vs City, I reckon.

So Tevez vs wol & MUN

          Vs

Rooney vs EVE & DGW player

Could've close if you captain someone like Jelavic or Ade in DGW

I've got Yakubu, Rooney and RVP.

Can't scrap Yak as he has Norwich at home (even if he's doubtful, there's too much risk in taking him out there)

So I'm getting rid of Rooney for Tevez, and probably Valencia for Ben Arfa

I was anticipating something along those lines, but the problem exists in this week.

I can't drop Yak this gameweek because he's got Norwich at home - a game which could be filled with goals.

It starts with T 🙂 I'd go for the man playing higher up front every time. Tevez is a clinical finisher who will punish any mistake and polish off efforts from other players. Aguero may play the prettier stuff, but a fully fit Carlos Tevez is the man for fpl.

Ok lads, 2 free transfers and 0.6m in the bank.

    a) Bring in a AVL (DGW) player. Turner -> Cuellar/Warnock is tempting.
    b) Bring in a MCY player. Rooney -> Aguero/Tevez is tempting.
    c) Bring in a GW36 (DGW) player. Walcott -> Bale is tempting.
    d) Something else

    Migs, Bogdan
    Kompany, JEvans, Skrtel, Caulker, Turner
    Dempsey, Walcott, Valencia, Sessegnon, Sigurdsson
    RVP, Rooney, P Cisse

      A) No. Use free transfers for attacking DGWers and City striker.

      B) Yes.

      C) Yes.

      D) More of C).

I'm hoping to have an 12 pt lead over my rival by GW36, then I will be able to take 2 hits, to pretty much negate his wild card advantage, and still be 4 pts ahead. Does that make sense?

Depends on who you are bringing in. Any right moves might be worth 8 points of hits. Any wrong moves may just fritter away your 12... Need more facts to have an opinion.

Yeah. I wouldn't make the hits for the sake of it. But a 12 point lead would allow me to make two hits, if I need to.

Caulker>Hibbert/Jagielka for dgw and have no Swans defence coverage or do Aguero>Jelavic?

both of the forwards can score goals anytime. gutted to leave Aguero out but i still want more DGW players. oh and im doing either Valencia/Walcott>Bale.

any suggestions? this is my current squad:

    Krul|Mignolet

    Simpson|Jevans|Caulker|Kompany|BAE

    Valencia Siggy Demps Mcclean Walcott

    RVP Aguero Cisse

still don't get why so many have been transferring out rooney
    -utd havent played yet
-they have everton at home next weekend
-rooney's been in tremendous form at home

city strikers do not have a dgw. their only relatively easy game before the final day is next weekend when utd have a home game

Even I am gonna follow the 'wait and see' policy. How Rooney fares against Villa, to carry that form into the Everton game.

But you gotta admit that Tevez and Aguero are the most in form strikers right now besides Cisse and RVP. They play the worst team in the league next. Everton aren't known for leaking 3-4 goals.

Don't see why you think Everton at home is a good thing, especially when Rooney doesn't usually play well against them
But I agree, at least wait until he plays.

      Notoriously hard to predict.

Sess and McClean had same % of shots on/off target.

Kilgallon leads with clearances and interceptions will probably be in the shake up. http://www.whoscored.com/Matches/507137/LiveStatistics/England-Premier-League-2011-2012-Sunderland-Wolverhampton

Then there's WOL to consider as well.

I heard McClean put in a 'good shift', to quote the commentator. But that hardly has anything to do with this new bonus set up, I guess.

It might go to random defenders of both teams, by the look of it.

I put my wish in first... 🙂

My differentials vs Embarrassment of Riches lead by a point, four if Siggy gets 3 bap, less depending on Sess/Larsson baps, with remaining players being my Vermaelen vs his Valencia.

Pretty serious dead zone time here... 40 minutes for last ten comments.
Scarcely a RMT to be seen.

    Currently on:
    Hart (Ruddy)
    McCauley/Caulker/Verm/Jevans/Kelly
    Siggy/Barfa/Dempsey/Bale/Theo
    Roo/RVP/Bendtner

    1.1 in bank and 2FT
Planning to move Hart to Krul and use money to fund Bendy to Cisse.
Puts me in place for 7 DGW (Krul/Barfa/Cisse at Wigan/at Chelsea, Kelly/Dempsey at Everton/at Liverpool, Bale vs Blackburn/at Bolton ... plus one more that I haven't decided) without taking a hit

Thoughts? Theo to Mata for 36? Mata hosts QPR and Newcastle that week.

But Arsenal play Norwich and WBA the following weeks?

Even I am looking to fit in Mata into my GW36 team somehow. He's one player whom I have pencilled in for that gameweek and right now, it's Valencia who'll be making way.

Yeah, I really don't want to give up on those potential points, but not sure who/how to fit a bit of Chelsea into that mix. Only way I could bring Theo back in for those last two weeks would be by shipping out Bale (avl,FUL), or Dempsey (SUN, tot)

I am doing McClean -> Petrov this week, fwiw.

HBA is a good move but I don't see Newcastle carrying that form for too long. Wigan are playing for their lives and it will be tough to beat them at home. Chelsea vs Newcastle will be too tight a game to have too many goals in them.
