Jonny Evans and Danny Welbeck are ruled out of United’s game with Swansea. Cheick Tiote reckons he’s ready to play against City, despite sustaining a head injury at Chelsea last night. Phil Neville and Victor Anichebe could be out of Everton’s last two games, while reports suggest Kyle Walker picked up a toe problem at the Reebok last night:

Sir Alex Ferguson has today ruled out Jonny Evans and Danny Welbeck ahead of United’s crucial home clash with Swansea on Sunday. Speaking to the press this morning, Ferguson admitted that, while Evans’ fitness has improved, he has failed to recover from the injury that kept him out of Monday’s trip to City, while Welbeck’s ankle is still feeling the effects of Nigel de Jong’s second half challenge:

He is out. He got injured on Monday. Hopefully he will be ready for the Sunderland game.

Javier Hernandez is surely set to come in for Welbeck as Ferguson moves back to a 4-4-2 against the Swans, while at the back, it’s debatable as to whether Chris Smalling will continue alongside Rio Ferdinand in Evans’ absence. Given his underwhelming contribution at City, Smalling could be replaced by Phil Jones in the centre of defence, with Rafael’s more attack-minded nature perhaps seeing him get the nod at right-back once again.

Cheick Tiote has assured Newcastle fans he’s raring to go ahead of Sunday’s game with City. The midfielder was subbed off just after the hour mark last night and required oxygen and several stitches after being elbowed by John Obi Mikel, but afterwards the Ivorian revealed he bore no malice towards the Chelsea man and felt fine for the weekend.

I spoke to John Obi Mikel afterwards and it’s fine. It was purely an accident from him. If you play in midfield your have to let people hurt you and be ready for it. I am much better. I can’t remember any of it, but the most important thing is I feel great. It’s just a cut on the side. It’s fine for me though, I will be OK for Sunday.

Everton look set to be without the services of Phil Neville and Victor Anichebe for their remaining two games of the season. Neville injured a hamstring in training earlier in the week and was unavailable for Tuesday’s trip to Stoke, while Anichebe limped off midway through the first half of the Potters’ clash due to a groin problem.

Reports suggest Kyle Walker complained of damage to a toe after Spurs’ win at Bolton last night. The right-back has been transferred in by almost 30,000 Fantasy owners on the back of last Sunday’s free-kick and clean sheet display against Blackburn, though the severity of the problem remains unclear. Luka Modric has said he expects to be fit for the weekend trip to Villa – the midfielder needed an ice pack on a foot problem after the Reebok romp, while Scott Parker is also likely to come into contention for Sunday. The former West Ham man missed out last night with ankle and Achilles problems but the club are optimistic of a quick return.

rosicky would be a better punt. although benny will play further forward, rosicky is going to be much more involved in the play and will certain give rvp an assist.

    Begovic (Vorm)
    Kaboul, Kelly, Sanga (Simpson, Evans)
Siggy, Pienaar, Valencia, Bale, Ben Arfa
    Rooney, Cisse, Jelavic

1FT and 8.8mil in the bank.

Thinking of doing Moses, RVP and Silva in for Siggy, Ben Arfa and Cisse. Any thoughts?

Evans out this week will leave me needing to play one if Simpson or Caulker (alongside Gibbs and Enrique).

Already set on Adebayor and Sigurdsson to Rooney and Valencia/Pienaar.

Is it worth another 4pt hit to bring in a defender? Or just play Simpson and hope for the best?

Ok, i need some help here.

my mid is Sess, Siggy, Bale, Dempsey
my forwards are Cisse, Jelavic, Ade

I want to make two changes this week to this set of players, and I have 11m in the bank. Basically i can almost put any two players in, so cost isnt an issue.

I am thinking Cisse to RVP and Sess to Nani? good idea, or are there better options?

obviously cisse has outrageous form right now, but i need to make up about 30 or so points to the top of my league, and they have Cisse, Jelavic, Rooney. Cant get rid of jelavic against wolves, so dropping cisse is the gamble i want to make.

    Schwarzer
    Wheater, Williamson, Huth
    Bale, Dempsey, Petrov, Siggy, Valencia
    Cisse, Jelavic(vc), RVP(C)
Bench = Cech, Siggy, Evans, BAE
    7.1M in the bank

Evans and BAE are injured leaving me with a shaky looking defence. Which transfer is best:

    1. Cisse to Rooney
    2. BAE to Vermaelen
    3. BAE to Kompany
    4. BAE to Hibbert
    5. Cisse to Rooney and BAE to a defender (-4)

So I guess what you're saying is that Vermaelen is much more likely to do better than say Williamson whereas Rooney may not do better than Cisse (despite the fact he's playing Man City and Rooney's against Swansea)?

That's my taking of the situation, but also the safe option.

Rooney will either do very little or score loads.

How does this look for an 8pt hit?

    Adebayor, Siggy and Evans OUT

    Rooney, Pienaar and Evra IN

I wouldn't be taking an 8 pointer (or even a 4 pointer) but if you must that is a decent one. Cut it down to at least 4 though no need to do Evans>Evra if you have another defender to play.

If you're covering a lead then probably Bale to hedge your bets. But they could all score well this weekend.

Evening guys any ideas on what to do with this lot?

    Al Habsi (Vorm)
    Terry, Williamson, Turner (Cahill, Evans)
    VDV, Dempsey, Mata, HBA (Siggy)
    Aguero, Jelavic, Cisse

Defensive injuries have forced my hand. Going to
now stick with front 3. So Cahill>Vermaelan?

Any attacking options worth a hit?

    Which midfield would you prefer?

    a) Pienaar, McClean, Siggy (Bale, Dempsey)
    b) Ben Arfa, Moses, Siggy (Bale, Dempsey)
    c) Ben Arfa, Moses, McClean (Bale, Dempsey)

The question is whether to do Ben Arfa--->Pienaar or McClean/Siggy-->Moses.
