Just three days removed from their forgettable FA Cup Final meeting, Liverpool and Chelsea meet once more. This time around the setting is Anfield and, if truth be told, the stake is pride more than the three Premier League points on offer. Liverpool XI: Reina, Johnson, Carragher, Skrtel, Agger, Downing, Henderson, Shelvey, Maxi, Suarez, Carroll.
Chelsea XI: Turnbull, Ferreira, Ivanovic, Terry, Bertrand, Essien, Romeu, Ramires, Sturridge, Malouda, Torres.

Hoping to avoid the worst tally in over 60 years for home points in a season, Kenny Dalglish plays Andy Carroll (at the expense of Craig Bellamy) alongside Luis Suarez following the impact he made on Saturday. There’s three other changes that see Jamie Carragher, Maxi Rodriguez and Jonjo Shelvey replace Jose Enrique, Steven Gerrard and Jay Spearing.

With a season-defining game awaiting in Munich later this month, a much-changed Chelsea line-up take to the field. There’s only three survivors from the weekend, with Champions League Final suspendees John Terry, Ramires and Branislav Ivanovic all keeping their place.

am I mad to not want to put Aguero in this weekend?

It seems logical, but as a United fan, buying him, eliminates my last shred of hope in cheering for QPR.

Torres v Rover looks tempting, but can't afford and buying Nasri would mean benching Siggy.

    Song isn't as disciplined though. He loves to go forward in so many Arsenal attacks whereas M'vila is comfortable sitting deep and letting the play go on ahead of him.

    Not at all, hence why we let Norwich score 3 against us at home. His hollywood passes have masked his flaws this season, poor positioning and lack of discipline. Could work well playing alongside M'Vila.

        How many times have Arsenal been caught on the counter attack this season? The answer is a hell of a lot. Song pushes up soo much that our defence is exposed and he is too slow to get back. Obviously it's not just his fault but he is essentially our defensive midfielder. Don't get me wrong, he is a good player but M'Vila is a better defensive midfielder which is something we desperately need right now.

        Song can be fantastic when hes in form, both in attack and defense.. but sometimes he forgets all his defensive duties and tries that over the top ball again and again giving up possession in dangerous areas. He tried the same thing vs Norwich which resultd in the Norwich third goal. That and Gibbs is to be blamed a little too.
        
        Personally I hope all this tranfer talk is agent rubbish to get more money on contract extension.
        
        Song - M'Vila - Wilshere - Arteta Midfield is a mouth watering prospect with enough QUALITY replacements on the bench too..

        You are not getting my point Doos. I am not saying Song isn't a good player, i am saying M'Vila is a better defensive midfielder. Would we have conceded 3 goals on the counter attack against Norwich if M'Vila was playing? I highly doubt it.

      Squad depth my friend. Arsenal have a track record of injuries and extra players are only good for the team.
      
      IMO Arteta will not be benched next season. He was Arsenal's best midfielder this season keeping the team and more importantly the defense together.
      
      Arsenal havent won a single game without Arteta this season.

Just saw this on the Guardian, interesting:

"If Chelsea win 1-0 this evening, and then beat Blackburn by a single goal whilst Tottenham draw scoring the same number of goals as Chelsea on Sunday ... which of the two teams finishes highest in the table?" asks Philip Hayes.

Thanks for asking, Philip. My understanding is this: if the teams finish level on points, on goal difference and on goals scored – which is certainly possible – and if European qualification is at stake, they will have to play off. I would love this to happen.
