Euro 2012 – McDonald’s Scout League Update

As Fantasy managers while away the hours until tomorrow night’s first semi-final of Euro 2012, we’re rolling out some updates on the progress of the Fantasy Football Scout leagues across the various Fantasy games so far. First up, we begin a look at the McDonald’s game, analysing those managers who are currently leading the way after the quarter finals:

Nenad Todorovic sits at the top of the Scout league after registering a score of 71 in the quarter-finals. Jordi Alba, Sami Khedira and Mesut Ozil were his stand out individuals, while he chose to stick with Cristiano Ronaldo as captain after the Portugal man notched against Czech Republic on day one. Nenad now sits second overall in the McDonald’s rankings, just a single point off the summit with a total of 272 points.

Isaac Lundall is next up, just a couple of points behind. His decision to double up on England and Spain defenders paid off, with captain Ashley Cole racking up 14 points in the previous round. The top two have quite a gap over the chasing pack, with Lee Harding sitting in third place on 258 points, 14 off the top. Picking a couple of Portugal’s backline against the Czechs paid off, while Joleon Lescott, Jordi Alba and captain Sami Khedira helped produce a score 69 points in the quarters – Lee is the third Fantasy manager we currently have in the overall top 10, situated in tenth place.

Surapong Lertthiratoj currently resides in fourth place in the Scout league after picking up a 62 point haul last time out. While his decision to back a couple of Italy defenders paid off, his faith in Germany’s backline backfired after Greece scored twice against Joachim Low’s outfit; Mesut Ozil vindicated Surapong’s decision to hand the playmaker the armband by picking up a 16 point captain return.

Winding up our review of the top five, we have Paul Robinson – a new entrant to the Scout league. Paul was the top scoring player of our featured Fantasy managers with a 78 point haul, thanks to his decision to hand Xabi Alonso the armband; the Spain midfielder duly obliged with a 28 point return, while the likes of Jordi Alba, Joao Pereira and Joleon Lescott boosted his tally at the back.

For the contributors, Paul (I’m talking about myself in the third person here, shocking habit) is the top scoring manager so far – sitting just outside the top 50 in the Scout league on 236 points and 604 overall. Doubling up on Spain’s defence and leaving the armband on Ronaldo was enough for 60 points. Mark is next up, sitting in 187 in the Scout league. Taking a leaf out of Spain’s book, his striker-less 5-5-0 formation harvested 64 points, with captain Joleon Lescott and Joe Hart returning 22 points between them in the goalless draw with Italy. Jonty stands in 649th place in the Scout league after a 54 point haul in the quarters. His decision to captain Italy’s Andrea Barzagli against England paid off with a 14 point return, while Jordi Alba also boosted his tally with 10 points at the back.

Paul Is certain he won't make the same mistakes next season. Follow them on Twitter

Would appreciate an RMT for my first draft for a semi team:

    Patricio
    Hummels, Boa, Arbeloa, Alba, Pepe
    Özil, Khedira, Fab, Alonso
    CR7, Oliveria, Balotelli

    Bank 0,3

If Torres plays rather than Fab, I take out Balotelli and Fab and insert Pirlo and Torres.

Also considering taking out Khedira and Pepe and inserting Reus and Badstuber. I'd like more Germans for the final, but I think they will concede against Italy.

    Would really appreciate any thoughts.

I've done something ridiculous; Need advice.

I didn't change my FF team (McDonalds) in time for the semi finals.. can I use the wild card tonight to change my team for the 2nd semi final or doesn't it work like that?

    Thanks
